Format: I'm gonna go brackets, because I'm lazy.
Summary: Karkat's still healing from Vriska's attack, and now he's feeling even more paranoid than usual.
Warnings: Karkat's paranoia is also pretty crippling, give him a minute to calm down

[Being in the infirmary for a week has really done a number on Karkat's psyche. Truthfully, sitting still for this long is really starting to get old, but considering the hospital staff won't talk to him, he's unbelievably afraid of getting up and walking around. So he simply stays, staring like a zombie at the ceiling, pupils slightly shrunken into their sockets.

He has to get out of here. What if Vriska snaps again? Or worse, what if Terezi snaps? WHAT IF THE WHOLE TOWER WANTS HIM DEAD, WHY THE FUCK IS HE STILL HERE.......

Pull it together, Karkat, you're being a nooksucking idiot. Keep calm and lay still.]

[And Terezi, as usual, has come to visit. She tried investigating the odd noises and touches and scents, but after she realized they were only hallucinations, she's done her best to ignore them. It's working for the most part, but it's still left her irritated and unnerved and sets her teeth on edge.

But a visit to her bro will certainly help, right?]

[WOW NOPE, her voice startles him visibly. He presses a hand to his temple before answering her with a grunt.]

[She shoots Karkat a grin, plopping down beside him.]

[ And then, exploring, a very heavily armed and androgynous elf-looking person (Hylian, if you'd like the correct terminology) wandered into the infirmary.

And laid eyes on Karkat. After her their encounter with Dualscar, this one's a bit wary of trolls, but sees he's injured... and, well, can't help but wonder if, maybe, they can help. Sollux had been nice, after all; perhaps only Dualscar was mean.

... Did I mention the green tunic and tights and whatnot? Yeah. Collar color (green) even matches. ]

Don't mind Karkat, he'll be trying to inconspicuously pull the covers over his head like that will protect him.]

[ SORRY KARKAT YOU HAVE BEEN SPOTTED. So she... peeks over at you because her curiosity is kind of overwhelming. ]

[ It isn't the best phrased question, but she asks because she wants to help. ]

[ She is completely unaware--she only figures he's stubborn. ]

... Oh. I was going to offer you a fairy... are you sure you're not hurt?

[ To her, offering what she has is only natural. It does not even occur to her that it'd be odd. ]

[Jade has spent the better portion of her time here simply wandering around. Mostly lost but partially because she's trying to learn which direction leads where. She thinks it might be useful to know the layout of this place like the back of her hand.

So she's just poking her head into the hospital wing curiously, looking around...]

[Karkat is on one of the beds nearest to the door, staring at the ceiling. The bandages covering his broken ribs are covered the by the blanket, but his broken arm is in a sling in a cast and clearly visible.

He's immediately alerted by footsteps, both eyes snapping toward Jade. This isn't the one he already met in the tower, and its certainly not Strider, so it had to have been the one that arrived a week or so ago.]

...looking for something?

[Her head snaps towards his voice and she blinks. She was looking the other way and somehow missed him there.]

Oh! Hi, Karkat. Uh, other Karkat. Sorry I didn't mean to bother you. I was just looking around is all.

Don't be stupid, I've been here for a week with nothing to do aside from watch these fuckwits run back and forth.

[He gestures to the various workers who don't seem to be paying any attention to either of them.]

[It's not like Vriska wanted to come down to visit him or anything. No, she was just walking by the infirmary. It wasn't intentional really, but she might as well poke her head in to check on him.

[And Karkat is...staring. Nervously. Frozen, even. What if she had come to finish the job? There was no way she was just visiting.]

[She squints at him, lips twisting down in a frown. She just wants to leave, but pride won't let her back down so she sneers instead.]

[Dressed in a pair of white scrubs, Signless strides irritably into the room. It's not his first day at work, but he hasn't treated this patient before.]

[Oh this is fucking embarrassing. He kind of dead-eyes Signless for a minute before glancing down at the floor in an attempt to hide his shame, because wow, being tended to by his dimension brother's ancestor?]

...hey.

[Signless tries to catch his eye without success for a moment, then moves forward to perch on the edge of his mattress]

What happened to you?

[He doesn't answer right away, but when he does, he looks up from the floor, at least. But only to the opposite wall.]

Got mad. Picked a fight I couldn't win. Lost.

[Naminé is fairly preoccupied, herself, her own experiment effects distracting her as she passes briefly through the infirmary. In fact, were it not for Karkat's unusual coloring (those horns really stand out) she probably wouldn't notice him at all; as it is, she sees him out of the corner of her eye and turns to look, belatedly stops, then backtracks to stare, trying to place him.]

[Oh, that's right. She remembers having briefly seen the other Karkat over the network, but recognizes that this Karkat isn't quite the same. So... the blue Karkat, maybe? Here, Karkat, have a staring passerby.]

[He feels those eyes and after a few seconds, he meets them stiffly. Its fairly obvious that he's a little nervous, but he seems to calm slightly when he notices Namine's eyes -- he hadn't seen a shade that blue yet. Then again, he hadn't had the pleasure of meeting any adult trolls -- those were the only ones who had pigment in their eyes, anyway.

He doesn't recognize her, so after a few seconds of awkward staring, he forces himself to look away, feigning an impassive stare toward the opposite wall.]

[Hm. She notes his discomfort, but it doesn't quite deter her. If anything, she finds it worrying; he IS in the infirmary, after all, and that's plenty to be concerned about on its own. She keeps watching even after he looks away. She's not surprised that he doesn't know who she is. They didn't use a video chat, after all. Briefly she considers leaving him be, but she knows he's seen her and he's all alone. Why not at least attempt to give him some company? Maybe it'll help take her mind off of that hopeless feeling.]

[Gingerly, as if half expecting either to be told off or to spook him, she steps a little closer and, after a pause during which she considers how to introduce herself, she says,] ...Excuse me...?

[His eyes snap back toward her, but he manages to keep himself from jumping and instead forces a small smile.]
