Setting: Cafeteria/kitchens, backdated to yesterday.

Summary: The siren's call of real food has drawn someone out of his post-event hiding place.
Warnings: Possibly event aftermath?

[He's done a good job of making himself missing the last week and a half, holed up in a back corner of the library with a beanbag and as many books as he can carry. It's actually a bit of a surprise when the new month comes around, bringing with it food other than Jason's nutrition bars, and that, ultimately, is what draws him away from the standard part of the cafeteria and back into the kitchens. It definitely seems to have put him in a better mood - he's more animated than he's been in a while as he looks through the cupboards and large refrigerator.

Before long, he's got a pot of water boiling for tea and a selection of chicken breast on the cutting board, a knife in hand as he trims away fat and chops the chicken into smaller pieces. Maybe if you approach him, he'll make your something that isn't covered in flowers.

But don't count on it.]

[Oh, don't worry. Riku is fairly used to dealing with easily irritated people (though he has maybe fallen a little out of practice in this place).]

I'm good, thanks.

[A pause before he speaks up again, sounding slightly thoughtful.]

...You are one of Xion's friends, right?

[Well hey! No time like the present to brush up on old skills.]

I suppose you could say that.

[What is friends how do they work.]

[Indeed, indeed.]

Would you say that?

[Careful there. As conversational as Riku may (be attempting to) sound, he is very interested in the answer. This is about his younger not!sibling after all.]

[You would ask the guy who's bad at having friends, Riku. Especially when it comes to actually describing them as that word, because he's a total tsun when it comes right down to it.]

If someone described it that way, I wouldn't object to it.

[Their social link isn't quite high enough for him to use the word himself, though. To be fair, he can count on his hands the number of people that get that description. As in, his right hand and his left hand.]

[Well... given that there are plenty people in this place that Riku feels similar about, he can consider this a case of "Fair enough".

He'll just nod to himself though and go on with drinking his tea for now.]

[And Asch will go on cooking for a while, the chicken sizzling away in the pan. When it's nearly done, he'll glance over his shoulder at the boy again.]

[Riku has finished his plate and cup by then, frowning thoughtful for a second before a small grin flickers over his face.]
