Characters: Big Boss and You.
Setting: Dormitories, Cafeteria, the Graveyard, Storage Room (Floor 40) and Anywhere Else.
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer.
Summary: Snake arrives in the tower-- And that after eleven months spent alone on his dead homeworld following his short-lived stay in the tower last year. Big Boss may be somewhat paranoid after this year spent alone; but needless to say this tower is much better than his dead homeworld.
Warnings: This man may teach you how to use a gun if given an occasion. Aka no real warnings.
• Dormitories (Corridors)
A man dressed with a battle dress uniform and holding a handgun could be seen cautiously exiting room 02-20 early in the morning. He looked at his surroundings quite warily, pointing the handgun in whichever direction he looked at. After such a long period of time spent alone on a ravaged planet (nearly a full year now), Big Boss was somewhat more paranoid and cautious than usual.
Upon seeing the same corridors he had seen a year ago, he suspiciously looked around for one more minute or so before finally lowering his gun. Either he was hallucinating (and this was to be expected), either he was back in this weird tower after all that time. Hopefully this was the later-- His situation was bad enough, he could do without hallucinating. Besides anything would be better than his dead homeworld.
After some more looks left and right, Big Boss would finally lean against a wall, pondering on the situation and his miraculous return to this place as he slowly took a cigar from a pocket and was about to light it up...
No lighter.
They gave him cigars but no lighter or matchstick to lit them. Fantastic. He grunted and sighed, finding something to lit his smokes would be his priority now.
• Cafeteria (Floor 01)
Hungry as he was, it didn't take long before he decided to stop by the Cafeteria. Before long Big Boss would be sitting at a table, looking at his lavender meatballs and poking at them with a fork. Now that was weird. Flower food? That couldn't be worse than your average MSF ration, but... Maybe he was really hallucinating all of this.
"You've got to be kidding me..."
Who ate that kind of stuff anyway? Though the true question was, who cooked that kind of stuff? Oh well. He took a bite of it and winced. ... Not exactly to his tastes.
• Graveyard (Floor 48)
This floor was quite disturbing, as were all graveyards to him ever since a certain accident eleven years ago. When he engaged into the floor Big Boss quickly looked over the names on the graveyards-- None of them rang a bell to him. He frowned slightly upon reading the name on one of the headstones: Liquid Snake. Sounded vaguely familiar with his own codename, but this was probably a pure coincidence and entirely unrelated to himself or his world.
Looking at an anonymous tombstone with no name he paused for a moment-- Thinking to one very familiar tombstone he had visited years ago. After a moment standing before that empty tombstone, he would move back to the stairs.
• Storage Room (Floor 40)
Now that was what he was talking about. Boxes. Without a doubt the most interesting floor in this entire tower. Naturally, most residents would probably be disappointed upon finding a floor filled with naught but shelves and empty boxes. Every residents maybe, but not Big Boss-- The empty boxes themselves were this room's treasure.
And what treasure! That was a child-like excitement that Big Boss looked over the various boxes in the search for the perfect cardboard box-- The one that would suit his hiding needs within the tower all while offering proper and adequate protection against enemy fire.
If you are to pass by this floor late enough, you may get to see him trying a cardboard box and hiding under it. After all, that feeling of inner peace you feel when covered by a cardboard box, simply cannot be beaten. Truly there isn't anything a cardboard box cannot do.
• Anywhere Else
Throughout the week, you may find Big Boss with an assault riffle in hands, exploring the various floors of the tower. Either those that did not exist back when he last was here, either re-discovering those he had visited back then.
His exploration method was mostly the same with each floor. Whenever he approached the entrance of a floor, he stopped by the staircase, discreetly looking inside. If there were no apparent danger, he would then walk in with his assault riffle ready to fire, before lowering the weapon once he had confirmed no monsters were in sight.
If there were monsters, he'd try to avoid them. Ammo was hard to come by here.

Right when things supposedly couldn't get any weirder. Obviously this made little sense to him, given Ocelot was younger than him, not the other way around. Granted, he had heard this tower sometimes did some weird time paradox like that, but then there was an even bigger problem: Ocelot was a man.
Before he could express his serious doubt on this assessment, she handed him a picture and he took i, quickly looking over it. Himself and EVA, he recognized immediately-- A bit annoyed at that upon seeing EVA given what happened back home, but then his eyes widened upon seeing the third person on that picture.
"Boss?!" he exclaimed but then shook his head "No. No, she's too young." Then what was the point of showing him this? That was when it titled in his head-- The aged picture, her claim to be Ocelot. He looked up at her slowly, picture still in hand.
"... Are you implying you're the woman on that picture?"

It wasn't something that she liked to admit-- after all, she was nothing like her mother. Ocelot wasn't loyal to any country, and could never have the faithful loyalty that The Boss had had. But she was still her mother. It was still a part of her blood that she couldn't deny.

"So you're basically telling me you're Ocelot, somehow from the opposite gender than I remember and on top of that from the future?" Well that certainly came close to beat psychics, walking an undead river or reviving dead people through AIs.
"That's... Quite a story." he stated, obviously quite suspicious yet as he just couldn't fully believe in that so quickly, but he slowly handed the pictures back to her.

"I'm sure the story is not much different from the one you know," she said pointedly, pocketing the photograph once again.

Given she came from the future, the idea someone inherited his old codename was nothing impossible, especially given Zero's unhealthy obsession-- Nevertheless 'Liquid' was as stupid as it could get for a codename. What next, a Solid Snake? He shook his head however, before taking a cigar.
"If the story is not much different, then I have to wonder why you'd introduce yourself as Ocelot." he stated plainly "Sounds like a pretty bad move to me."
no subject
"Yes. Liquid Snake," she repeated. By his age, Liquid and Snake had already been born. Probably toddlers, if their world hadn't been annihilated. It was a sad prospect, even for the woman that would willingly lead her sons to their deaths. "He wasn't the one I know, but he wasn't so different."
no subject
"Alright, let's say I believe your story." he said slowly, no harm playing along "What makes you more trustworthy now that you're older than me? Last I remember from your other self back home, you were working with him-- Zero, Cipher, whatever name he uses in the future."
He would drop the topic of Liquid for now-- But he would make sure to come back to it later. Whilst they had been born, he had no idea of their future 'code names', so for now assumed this was just someone who had inherited his codename (or indeed in denial, you could never know with him).

She couldn't blame him for the distrust. She and ADAM had stayed behind to help Big Boss from the shadows-- to make sure that they could both watch Zero closely. Even if it had been close to thirty years since she had defected from the Patriots herself.
"I don't ask you to trust me," she said simply. From his perspective, what she had done was not something so easily forgiven. That was fine with her-- it had been the best thing at the time, she reasoned, but Snake didn't need to know her motives. "My age has nothing to do with the situation at hand. However, in this place, alliances for mutual benefit can help a person survive."
She had seen his name on the gravestone before, while vising Liquid's. If this was the same one or a different one, she had no way of knowing.
no subject
"You don't ask me to trust you but then you speak of alliances." he finally said after some more second "Kinda hard to have the later without the former. But given the situation..."
She had a point, in this tower alliances could be more profitable. Besides, back home Ocelot had never been the one with whom he had had the most problems-- In fact ironically he was probably the one he had the less problems with within The Patriots. Zero had deviated from The Boss's will, EVA and Para-medic had gone along with his Les Enfants Terribles plan and Sigint had shown the first symptoms of his thirst for power.
Good thing he didn't know in her world she held EVA's role.

"A war is brewing between two different sides here in the tower amongst the residents. Personally, I don't want to be under the thumb of someone who only lusts for power." And she didn't want to fight for Zelda's side, either, for that matter. "What would you say to a third force?"
no subject
Now that was new. Back when he last was in the tower, the administrators were fighting each others, not the residents. But in a way that was to be expected, even in this kind of extreme situation peace could never have lasted eternally, especially with people from so many different worlds. Not that he minds war, quite at the contrary.
"If what you say is true, that sounds like a reasonable course of action." he nodded "But I'll need to catch up before saying any definitive word. Things have changed a lot around here."
That and he will try and check around to make sure she said the truth. Nothing personal, but if she is really Ocelot and is anything like the one he remembers, it is never a bad idea to double check everything.

"Of course," she said slowly, nodding. "When you reach a decision, contact me." She still didn't expect Big Boss to trust her right away, that was ridiculous. Leaving him to learn what had been going on on his own seemed the best course of actions. With everything that had happened, he'd figure out soon enough that he would need allies to survive here now more than ever.
