[ 2-08 + Dorm levels ]
[ The most alarming thing to Duke isn't really the inability to move shortly after waking. Its the lack of familiar clothing.

The note is left alone until after the knight fishes out at least the undershirt of the uniform and pulls it on. The weird white clothing can come off another time, as getting some protection on seems like the best idea in the new place.

There's just a blank and resigned look at the letter. Destroyed? Eh... ]

Did they just argue until it all came down, or something? Idiots...

[ And then its just time to get the rest of the armor on. New place but 'let's be happy?' Uhhuh, sure. Armor is probably never going to come off now. ]

[ Cafeteria ]
[ So plain oatmeal isn't the most fascinating thing to eat ever, but the knight is just sort of eating with that steadiness that says someone is half asleep. That, or food is food.

Either way, Duke is watching the rest of the people here, although hopefully the knight looks a bit sleepy. ]

[ Floor 12 ]
[ Duke just watches that for a moment. ]

.... Not what I was expecting. Although if they couldn't see it... Odd, but..

[ So maybe the knight is going to crouch and watch for a bit. ]

[ Floor 3 ]
[ So maybe Duke will be spending a lot of time here. Just maybe.

Might be hinted at by the way the knight just sort of paces through the entire thing a few times before really looking at bookcovers. ]

Duke blinks over at the girl, then back to the planets. ]

At least, that's what ought to have gotten mine.

[ Gotten mine.. ah, the destruction, he's talking about that? Not that she has any clue what Adephagos could even be. ]

Who knows, it could have been anything! For all we know, the people in charge here could just go around randomly destroying worlds since they feel like it! [ She wouldn't fault them for it since she'd do the same. ]

Well, it would explain the ease of 'saving', wouldn't it.

[ A tight smile. That's not too comfortable of a thought, but would fit. ]

Wouldn't there be more here if that was the case, though? They'd be able to take someone off every planet, possibly cities worth of people.

I guess they just don't want to overload this place. Games like these are only fun when you have some room for the guinea pigs to run around.. they're probably thinking something like that!

Or maybe they just bring people here they find interesting.

Huh.

[ Duke is getting the feeling this girl is crazy. Time with the knights keeps most of that feeling from showing. ]

Must have odd definitions of interesting.

[ You got the right idea, Duke. Then again, it's not like Evatrice really bothers to hide it. ]

Why..? You mean you don't think you're interesting? What a sad way to look at the world! [ But she giggles. Not in a really happy sense, but more almost mockingly so. ]

[ Well, Duke will attempt to make use of that. Boring? Well, maybe that will keep crazy people away. ]

Sad, but likely true. A great deal of my time was spent pretending to be a statue.

[ ... She gives Duke a "really" kind of look. ]

You've got to be kidding me.

Knights within palaces often spend a great deal of time standing in intervals in hallways, or against walls in rooms. The nobles want the protection, but not the obvious reminder of it.

Ah, now I get it! It's since you're Furniture! [ .. Yes, she's completely serious when she says it. ]

Of course you'd be pretty boring then, Furniture is about use, not how much fun you can have with it..! Nobody cares if a chair is fun to talk as long as you can sit on it, right? It's just like that..!

[ This seems like the idea backfired. ]

So long as the main use is still possible. Not much use if I'm being put to some other chore and some threat arrives.

[ Don't go sitting on the knight, please. ]

But Furniture can be used for chores just fine! At least, mine can. Are you saying you're not as good as them? They'll do anything from firing rockets to babysitting, you know..! Kyahaha!
