[ The most alarming thing to Duke isn't really the inability to move shortly after waking. Its the lack of familiar clothing.

The note is left alone until after the knight fishes out at least the undershirt of the uniform and pulls it on. The weird white clothing can come off another time, as getting some protection on seems like the best idea in the new place.

There's just a blank and resigned look at the letter. Destroyed? Eh... ]

Did they just argue until it all came down, or something? Idiots...

[ And then its just time to get the rest of the armor on. New place but 'let's be happy?' Uhhuh, sure. Armor is probably never going to come off now. ]

[ Cafeteria ]
[ So plain oatmeal isn't the most fascinating thing to eat ever, but the knight is just sort of eating with that steadiness that says someone is half asleep. That, or food is food.

Either way, Duke is watching the rest of the people here, although hopefully the knight looks a bit sleepy. ]

[ Floor 12 ]
[ Duke just watches that for a moment. ]

.... Not what I was expecting. Although if they couldn't see it... Odd, but..

[ So maybe the knight is going to crouch and watch for a bit. ]

[ So maybe Duke will be spending a lot of time here. Just maybe.

Might be hinted at by the way the knight just sort of paces through the entire thing a few times before really looking at bookcovers. ]

And I kind of thought that angels would destroy my world, since they were working on it. Apparently it's something else that did it.

... You know more than me about some things. Like 'demon' or 'angels' - They're not exactly something anyone can agree on, other than one is supposed to be nice and the other not.

That's not true. There are good angels and bad demons even if most angels back home are trying to destroy the world now, and angels are technically demons anyway.

Your world doesn't fit the common opinion of mine; probably because we don't have anything that calls itself an angel or a demon running around.

Yeah, it's not the common opinion of humans in mine either. I don't know how humans got that backwards. Maybe it's 'cause angels are prettier?

It wouldn't surprise me if that was the reason why. Humans tend to be shallow like that.

There's good ones and bad ones, just like everything else. I'm just influenced because my sister got... rather biased against them. That, and a lot in the higher... social classes, tend to be rather bad.

Power goes to people's heads, they think just because they haven't married anyone but their own cousins for the past several generations that they're 'better' than other people, and thus whatever they want they can do. Particularly if they have a lot of coin to get themselves out of trouble with.

...Hold on, they marry their cousins?

Some, usually the ones who have bigger families and can get away with it. They think it means they're 'pure' or something, despite what any dog breeder would know.

It is. All sorts of problems start showing up. I suppose they just want to 'stay the same' or something equally stupid.

Definitely dumb. If you're not going to improve yourself you might as well b dead.

I think they're scared of change. They like where they are, and want to keep it. I don't really know, but stagnating isn't good for anything, I agree.

I guess that happens in every world...

Those who are frightened? It's... Well, I would say 'human', but that seems a little self-centered, now.
