Summary: Shinji takes advantage of the poison plants meaning a more empty cafeteria.

[Whether or not he is, Shinji likes to think he's clever. So, naturally, he thinks he's being very crafty by taking advantage of the poisoned food in the cafeteria. It should mean fewer people are there now, right? So, he's much less likely to get caught if he decides to sneak one of the alcoholic drinks.]

[Which, he does. He's curious about them, particularly given the tastes of his Servant. When he sits, he picks the most out of the way seat he can find, conspicuously attempting to be inconspicuous as he grips his glass in both hands and leans over it, tequila close to his mouth.]

[...He can't quite bring himself to drink it, though. It's not like he's worried about doing something "bad" or getting in trouble, but... It smells weird. Still half-huddled over the drink in an attempt to hide it, he sniffs it again, his nose wrinkling.]

[Lancer is hovering over Shinji, grinning mischievously.]

[Waver eyes him from a few feet away before finally speaking up.]

Um. What are you doing?

[SUDDENLY, a mess of pink appears...in a cloud of pink smoke. IT'S PINK!!! She hovers in the air as if lying on her side on a couch, chin propped up on her hand.]

You're not going to like that...

[Being naturally suspicious, Sola-ui is predisposed to doubt the food even without the rumors. She doubts the drink even more.]

...Are you sure that is safe?

[She asks half out of idle curiosity, half out of real concern.]

[Shinji promptly squawks and nearly leaps out of his chair.]

Wh— How long have you been standing there?!

[looselips]

[Shinji jumps, and then in a totally-not-suspicious-at-all way, covers the top of the glass with one hand.]

N— Nothing. In fact, even if I was doing something, it's not like someone like me is obligated to explain himself to a plebe like you.

[looselips]

[Wow that is...a lot of pink. Somehow, the more dramatic entrance unsettles him less than someone quietly sneaking up on him, so he only slinks back, frowning as he draws his glass in closer to his chest.]

What the hell do you know? I might!

[Actually, he isn't sure if he'll like it himself, but. He's still curious and wants to try it.]

[Shinji's reply comes immediately and bluntly.]

No, but I don't see how it's any of your business.

[...Even if it isn't poisoned.]

[He shrugs.]

Not very long.

[He sniffs at the tequila.]

Also, you might want something lighter. That stuff smells strong and you're tiny. Unless you wanna get drunk quickly.

Perhaps I don't want the vision of someone dying from poisoning to ruin my meal.

[Just as rude and blunt.]

Hey, I'm trying to help you, that stuff's totally gross.

[She knows from experience...]

[Suzaku was still checking the cafeteria just to make sure that everyone knew to avoid it, when he spotted his roommate and the drink in his hand. He reached over and tried to pluck it out of his hands.] I don't think so Shinji.

I have better things to do than get drunk. I just want to try it.

[He sounds a little defensive as he says this. A little bit of curiosity is normal, right?]

[He rolls his eyes.]

Why the hell should I do that? Most of them are morons who don't know half as much as they think they do. If you want a perfect example, just go look in the mirror.

Okay, then what would you recommend?

[He sounds like he's grousing, but he's actually curious. Not that he would put much stock in the opinion of a hot mess of pink...]

Wow, so sorry for the inconvenience. Maybe you should find another floor to eat on, then. I hear the one with the lagoon is a nice place for a picnic.

[Yeah, he just told you to go get killed by mermaids.]

[Shinji tries to slide the drink out of Suzaku's reach, of course. His success is limited.]

Screw you! I can do what I want.

Ah, then start with something lighter. I'll get you a beer or some wine or something.

[Nope, not even gonna mention how alcohol might be bad for kids.]

Unfortunately, I doubt anyone has the idea of a picnic on their minds right now.

[He tries again to grab the drink, giving his roommate a stern look.]

[Kariya's uncle senses are tingling. He sees Shinji hunched over in the corner of the cafeteria, and he doesn't hesitate to make his way over to where he's sitting. He's heard about poison in the cafeteria, and naturally, he's concerned.]

Shinji. Is there something wrong with your drink?

[swordedpast]

[And then there's a presence behind him, the kind of sudden presence that screams Servant. Of course, it could be any number of things in this tower, but...]

That'll poison you, kid. Then you just might puke up your guts and die.

Only adults can drink that and live.

[It's for his own good, really.]

[And again, Shinji attempts to maneuver it out of the way. He has do so more hurriedly this time, and some of it sloshes over his fingers in his attempts to play keepaway.]

Says who?!

[There is absolutely nothing wrong with Shinji's drink. That's why he promptly jolts upright at the sound of Kariya's voice and slaps his hand over top of the glass.]

No. [There is also absolutely nothing suspicious about the speed or intonation of his answer.]
