Hacking #12: Anger Issues

Characters: April and anyone else!
Setting: Floor 84, Floor 28, Floor 15, and Dorm Room 2-04 (Locked to Aleph).
Format: Brackets to start with, but I can match you!
Summary: Now that there's a bit of a lull, April is throwing herself into being productive and dealing with some anger issues. The results vary.

[Floor 84]
[It seems like April's temper has gotten the better of her here, since she seems solely focused on destroying the blocks her with her bare hands, punching through them and just ignoring the items that they drop. They're fake, after all, like the rest of this stupid goddamn tower-

And another block is shattered as April kicks hard through it, though she ends up wincing and sitting down in a huff, thanks to her decision to use her bad leg for kicking. It'll be a while before she's back up and breaking things.]

[Floor 28]
[When she's in a more calmer mood, April can be found playing the piano in the music room. She isn't the best at it, but she's not too bad despite sometimes tripping up a note or two. And with how engrossed she is in playing, it doesn't seem like she would notice if anyone else arrives on this floor.

And she will claim that laying 'Twinkle, twinkle little star' is pretty soothing, despite her occasional messing up of notes.]

[Floor 15]
[Before April had been making weapons on and off just to see if she could, as well as to provide them to whoever needed them at the time. Now she's just throwing herself into making them, and she's using her electricity powers to help mould and shape the metal.

Right now she seems to be working on a blade of some sort, and checking over the edge of it to make sure it's sharp enough. The multiple cuts on her hands show that she hasn't exactly been careful with these, though.]

[Dorm Room 2-04. Locked to Aleph.]
[Ever since the reveal, April had made sure to check up on how Aleph was holding up. Today she seems a bit more hesitant than usual, but knocks on his room door all the same]

Hey, Aleph...?

... Yeah, that would be a great way to get out. But I think there is a way we can get out of here and be all right, we just have to keep looking.

[integrous]

Really? I thought that since other people have been here for so long and didn't find a way out, there wasn't any to begin with.. besides, then there's still the problem with the fact that we're actually just souls or whatever, right? Can we even still get our own bodies back?

[technologic]

Some prisons just take longer to escape from. And our bodies still exist; when people are sent to their worlds, they're sent back into their bodies. So we just need to find a way to bring our bodies to the tower.

[integrous]

But to do that.. we'd have to be in control instead of the admins, right? But they seem so weird and powerful..

[technologic]

But not all-powerful. People have been able to break things in the tower and fight back against the admins before. I think if we keep trying, we'll be able to get control from them.

[integrous]

Is that the resitance thing some people were talking about? I think I heard Amano-san mention something like that, but she couldn't say too much. [ Since she was being followed by that weird.. thing. Whatever that was. ]

It's good if people are at least able to do something, but it's hard to find out what's been done already.

[technologic]

Yeah, that's right. [April rubs the back of her neck, humming to herself in thought.]

... If my memory is right, I think people have actually broken into the admins areas before. But besides that and what happened a few days again, I'm not sure what else has been done.

[integrous]

Woah, they.. really broke in there?! Did they come face to face with those people?

[ The idea is pretty amazing. That means they'd be close enough to punch them, and that idea is very satisfying in its own right. ]

[technologic]

[April nods with a small smile.] I think they only came across Jason, but yep, they really did break in.

[integrous]

Even if it's across one of them, that's still amazing! [ Her enthusiasm is pretty obvious, Asahi's never been good at hiding her emotions. ] That means we really could take them on somehow after all.. there's a definite chance!

[technologic]

[And it looks like the enthusiasm is contagious, since now April's smile has brightened and she nods happily in agreement.] Exactly! Even when things are hard, there's always a chance that we can win.

[April has always focused on the positives and now isn't any different.]

[integrous]

[ The thought if a huge relief. Like a wave of relief that washes right over her, and she can take a deep breath because of it, seeming a lot less tense. ]

Then I can count on you when the time comes to do something about them, right? We all need to work together! And it's easier to do that with people you get along with!

[technologic]

You're right, and of course! You can definitely count on me when the time comes to face them all!

[April is glad that Asahi is starting to look more cheerful now, and it's enough to get rid of any of the nerves and tenseness she had before.]

[integrous]

I bet you can do some pretty amazing things against them either way.

[ Since she saw her powers before, back when April helped her out. ]

You'll be like a superhero! You can just run right in there and.. blam! Kazam! [ These are her own action sounds, yes. Complete with weird karate chop motions. ]

[technologic]

[April gives Asahi a look in surprise, and then she quickly shakes her head with a shy laugh. She is still very bad at accepting compliments.]

O-oh, I, uh, I'm not t-that amazing...

[integrous]

Huh? [ Asahi is so genuine that she blinks a little at what April says, as if she doesn't get it, but then she shakes her head again and smiles. ]

Of course you are! I think anyone who can do what you do is pretty darn amazing!

[technologic]

[She rubs the back of her head, glancing around as she shifts her feet nervously. She does soon nod in agreement, even if it is a shaky nod.]

T-t-thank you, Asahi... I-I'm still not sure about that, b-b-but I'll make sure to keep d-doing my best.

[integrous]

.. Hmm. [ She smiles. It's easy to see April's insecurities, but even so, she keeps smiling. Encouraging is all she can do in that case, huh.. ] I'll keep doing my best too! That's what it's all about, having people to rely on in a place like this.

[technologic]

[April is slowly getting better about her insecurities, but there are still times where she has trouble with them. But still, she quickly manages to give Asahi a smile back.] Y-yeah... And you can rely on me, a-and I promise I won't let you down.

[integrous]

[ For a moment it looks like she wants to say something else, but then she stops, hesitates. She's never liked telling people about her powers, even back home where everyone had an Iris. And even now she doesn't like it, she's too afraid it'll turn people away from her, but..

.. maybe it's actually more of a test to see how people react, right? April's been nice enough so far.. she swallows awkwardly. ]

Y.. yeah, and.. I can help you out with my power too.. [ She glances off to the side, unable to directly look at her as she says it. ] I.. can see it when people are lying. So if you ever need to find that out, you can always ask me..

[technologic]

[April's expression turns concerned when Asahi hesitates and looks away, but she does give her a nod in understanding. A power like that would tend to result in people being uncertain around her, but April doesn't seem at all bothered.]

That's... a pretty incredible power to have. And thank you, Asahi, I really appreciate it.

[And the smile she gives Asahi is both genuinely friendly and reassuring.]

[integrous]

[ .. She blinks when she hears the response. And it makes her quickly look back to April, but she can't see a tail on her at all. So.. it's not a lie? She really doesn't think.. ]

I-it's not weird? You don't want to stay away from me now? People really hate it when someone else can just see their lies whenever, you know!

[technologic]

Eh? [April stares at Asahi for a second, then quickly shakes her head a few times, looking shocked at what she said.]

Wha- No way! I don't think your power is weird or anything like that, and I don't want to stay away from you! I don't really mind your power, to be honest, and I already said you can count on me, right? So there's no way anything will make me turn back on my word.

[integrous]

Geez, April.. [ She lets out a deep sigh, but it's one of relief. She didn't think anyone would accept her this easily, it's.. almost strange to hear it. But in a good way. ]

You're too kind to me. But.. I guess I'm sort of glad. People don't often tell me that, heh.

[technologic]

[April tilts her head, blinking curiously. April has always been very open-minded, so to her, it would be strange to not accept Asahi, especially since Asahi has shown to be a kind and reliable person.]

... I guess it would make people nervous. But, you're more than just your powers, so it wouldn't be fair to you to just suddenly shun you like that.
