Palms rise to the universe...
Characters: The Spine and YOU... guest-starring Rabbit (Night)!
Setting: Floors 61, 5, and 28
Format: Action spam, but I'll switch to prose if you'd rather!
Summary: The Spine is dealing with recent events as best he can--as well as that creepy feeling that sleeping in his dormitory room may not be the wisest thing to do.
Warnings: Robots?
Floor Sixty-One
[A week or so ago, The Spine had been directed to this floor if he wished to see the sky. There certainly was a sky to see, but it was not the one he had hoped for. For one thing, there were far too many eyes. He stands just inside the door, brim of his fedora pushed up with a silver finger as he regards the clouds and mountains with evident suspicion.]
Floor Five
[As dangerous as exploring could be in the Tower, The Spine was restless, particularly after discovering that the sky he had been promised was as false as everything else in this place. It's beginning to get to him, this knowledge that nothing is real. Nothing, except the souls that he and his brother shouldn't by rights have. The souls that made death, real death, a possibility.
He finds his way to the viewing stations and stays there for a while, expression impassive as he stares at the ruin of his world.]
Floor Twenty-Eight: Day
[The Spine can be found standing near the back wall with a guitar in his hands, playing as he quietly sings one of two songs.]
Floor Twenty-Eight: Night
[Night time will find two automatons sitting close in the music room. Being surrounded by instruments is a great comfort, as is the presence of each to the other. They might not need to sleep, but wandering the hallways at night is dangerous--as is, The Spine feels certain, staying in their rooms where something lurks beneath their beds.
...It's a bit difficult to ignore the way some of the instruments occasionally play snippets of unsettling, unearthly tunes. No stasis time will be had this night for the silver automaton.]
{OOC Note: Tagging Floor Twenty-Eight: Night will get responses from both Rabbit and The Spine!}

That's an impressive talent, Miss April, and a rare one too.
[She seems a useful person for an automaton in a tower of terror like this to know and no mistake.
...Even if their bodies aren't actually made of metal and wiring.]
no subject
[She is a bit hesitant about mentioning her powers, since it does allow her to control electronics and stuff too. Though she would never actually use her powers on someone unless they said it was okay.]
no subject
[Well, that was... weird. Far more impressive than a simple affinity for metal and wires.
It's also potentially worrying, but she hasn't shown any signs of hostility so far. The Spine's smile doesn't waver.]
That's somethin' I've never heard of anyone bein' able to do. [Even in Kazooland.] Very impressive. Sounds awful useful, too, particularly here. Have you ever tried talkin' to one of the terminals?

[Rabbit always needs repairs.]
no subject
[Since she's not that good at it yet and is nervous about bothering him, even though she's really happy about the offer.]
no subject
[Is that a teasing note in the automaton's voice? Yep.]
Consider it livin' vicariously. I was programmed to play--no learnin' process to speak of. So I'll teach you, and through you I'll get an idea of what it's like to learn the hard way.
Besides, helping an aspiring musician is its own reward, Miss April.

So, after mentally fretting for a moment, she slowly starts to play Waltz of the Flowers. There is a few hiccups and trips over notes, mainly due to how she doesn't really know how to position her hands, but it isn't too bad.]
no subject
Hey, that wasn't bad at all! The way you were talkin' yourself down I was expectin' off-tempo Chopsticks. There's just one thing you could work on... your hand placement looks a little off. May I?
[He gestures to the keys, intending to give a demonstration.]
no subject
Ah, yeah, go ahead!

[With that, The Spine leans down and places his hands on the keys. Long metal fingers arch elegantly, wrists bent just so. He plays a few notes, a small ascending scale.]
If you hold your hands like mine, I think you'll find that you have an easier time hittin' the keys exactly as you want. More reach this way, see?
no subject
Ah, okay! So, like... [She positions her hands in the same way, also playing a small scale. It isn't as smooth at The Spine's, but it is better than how she was playing before.] Kinda like that?
no subject
Yep, just like that! Keep practicin' and you'll have it down in no time. You're gonna be playin' the fun stuff before you know it!
no subject
Really? Hehe, I'm looking forward to when I get that good!
no subject
I'm lookin' forward to hearin' it! Gotta take those small steps first, though, so... is there anythin' that's giving you particular trouble that I can help you work on?
