third ☾free her mind, she's always the analyst
Characters: Patchouli Knowledge and the Touhou cast (or as many as possible)
Setting: Floor 19, the morning of June 16th
Format: starting in prose, action is fine in comments
Summary: Patchouli had a theory. Her theory was wrong, and it's time to 'fess up and regroup.
Warnings: Event talk will likely happen, so PG-13 rating for that, plus Ruana talk, which is a warning of its own. Also, I'll probably be a tiny bit slow on tags with this, just as a warning.
The setting was important, for important conversation. Patchouli had briefly considered the meadow, at night, then ruled it out. Too dangerous, for one, and...just in case. If one of their number was a monster, then they were going to have to kill them. It had to be done in broad daylight.
...she just hoped it wouldn't come to that. She hadn't expressed pity, the night before, on the network. She had simply stated the fact: none of them were in an enviable position.
She was about to make it worse, because she had to admit that a theory she had banked on was incorrect. That was an unforgivable sin, as far as she was concerned. The weight of that was heavy on her shoulders as she sat at one of the library tables. There was a small stack of books to her left, but it wasn't the kind of stack she would normally have. Just four, and the subjects random - basic physics, music theory, English grammar, a book on identifying plants. Distractions, all of them.
There was a small notepad and a pen in front of her, open to a blank page. Every now and then, she tapped the pen against the paper, in a small nervous tic.
All she could do was wait.

I don't like having to admit it, but I flat-out asked the head admin exactly what kind of youkai she was. She's not, like I'd convinced myself she was.
We're dealing with a human who's insane and psychic.

What makes you think she's human?

[Patchouli starts wheezing and gasping for air, undoing the tie at her neck and trying to breathe. Hell of a time to have an asthma attack.]

And you somehow failed to realize there are other beings, other aliens, in existence that aren't Lunarians, youkai, gods or humans?

Blanket term. Learn the definition. Youkai is one of them.
[Wheeze, gasp.]
Besides, I don't see you doing a damn thing to help, so until you decide it's worth it to put any effort into doing anything besides mocking me, you don't have any room to talk.

And just because you don't see me doing anything doesn't mean I'm not, ze. Then again, you don't see me do most of the things I do.
Tell me, Patchy, why do you even believe a word that comes out of Ruana's mouth?

But fine. Whatever.
[Marisa decides to start bouncing a star off a nearby wall, catching it and then throwing it again.]

Anyway, Marisa, what the hell do you want from me, besides killing me with an asthma attack? First, it's that I don't do anything, then, it's that I tried actually doing things, I screwed up, and even admitting it isn't good enough. Do you mind enlightening me as to what exactly it is that you want? I'm officially at a loss.
Also? Why believe her? Because she does actually have a set of rules she plays by, and I had the patience to play a little bit. If you play by them, she's honest. She doesn't have any reason that I can tell not to be.
