third ☾free her mind, she's always the analyst
Characters: Patchouli Knowledge and the Touhou cast (or as many as possible)
Setting: Floor 19, the morning of June 16th
Format: starting in prose, action is fine in comments
Summary: Patchouli had a theory. Her theory was wrong, and it's time to 'fess up and regroup.
Warnings: Event talk will likely happen, so PG-13 rating for that, plus Ruana talk, which is a warning of its own. Also, I'll probably be a tiny bit slow on tags with this, just as a warning.
The setting was important, for important conversation. Patchouli had briefly considered the meadow, at night, then ruled it out. Too dangerous, for one, and...just in case. If one of their number was a monster, then they were going to have to kill them. It had to be done in broad daylight.
...she just hoped it wouldn't come to that. She hadn't expressed pity, the night before, on the network. She had simply stated the fact: none of them were in an enviable position.
She was about to make it worse, because she had to admit that a theory she had banked on was incorrect. That was an unforgivable sin, as far as she was concerned. The weight of that was heavy on her shoulders as she sat at one of the library tables. There was a small stack of books to her left, but it wasn't the kind of stack she would normally have. Just four, and the subjects random - basic physics, music theory, English grammar, a book on identifying plants. Distractions, all of them.
There was a small notepad and a pen in front of her, open to a blank page. Every now and then, she tapped the pen against the paper, in a small nervous tic.
All she could do was wait.

What did you learn? Did she do anything to you?

[Patchouli's lips tense, in a thin line.]
...what I learned...is that the term 'youkai' doesn't apply to her, or at least, she doesn't classify herself as one. And that she's using a combination of psychic powers - 'psionics' and heavy technology to maintain this place.

She lets out a sigh of relief at the fact nothing had happened although her face is serious at the next part. Not a Youkai Then...What is she?]
I'm glad she didn't do anything to you..but if she is not a Youkai...What is she?
