XVI ❝From the Barricade...❞

Setting: Floor 93 - The Barricade
Format: Any
Summary: A general mingle log for anyone who wants to camp out in the safety of numbers. However, this doesn't mean it's completely safe... Feel free to guard the sleepers on the barricade if you so desire. Feel free to date threads from the 16th of June, onward!
Warnings: PG-13 for possible monster attacks. Please include detailed warnings in your threads for the more faint of heart.

Distant cries and screams echo in the eerie night. The sounds of fight with monsters, enemies, maybe even friends dim even with the faint light given by the faint flickering of the fires. One thing is sure, though... You are safe here behind the wood and other miscellaneous materials making up the barricade. Perhaps even a few strangers as well. ... Well, for now. 'Do you hear the people sing?'

Fire, nuclear, and holy damage, as well as assistance with shots from my gun.

No idea what nuclear damage is... is holy like light?

[Okay, they both have pierce attacks. That's good, right?]

We should probably get going. Those monsters aren't going to kill themselves. Probably. I think.

It'd be convenient, but just in case, we'd better start patrolling anyway.

[Katsuya will lead the way.]

[Following along, keeping his spear out. At least he's managed to get some sleep with so many people around.]

[Monsteeers are you gonna be in this thread

Katsuya doesn't have his gun out at the moment but a: he has nothing to point it at and b: with ammo being of limited supply he's learned to react faster with his Persona.]

[There's a noise to their left, and Ken turns, but it's only someone fixing the barricade a bit. He tries to relax a little, but it's hard. He shakes his head and goes back to following Katsuya.]

[He knows that feeling of paranoia, bro. But there isn't much to do about it now but keep walking.]

[miseris_socios]

[It's frustrating, but he keeps his mouth shut. He can't whine - he needs to be more of an adult right now, and anyway the monsters might hear him.]

[themonsters]

[The first sound audible is the scraping of sharp claws against the ground. A few moments later, a deliberate exhale that sounds like an airy giggle.

The yellow mask seems to float around in the dark as the monster sniffs the air.]

[Katsuya doesn't wait for it to visibly attack. His Persona comes to his aid, rising above his head and sending a large blast of fire magic at the monster.]

[Ken follows up with a blast of Ziodyne from Dike, before raising his spear into a ready position.]

[The laughing monster notices the blast of fire in the dark, lunging to one side to dodge the blast; its growl is a sharp laugh, cut off when the electricity stops it in its tracks.

The pain only seems to urge on its bloodlust, and it lopes forward to close the distance and leap at its smaller (and presumably weaker) prey.]

[Katsuya moves to get a better angle and fires his gun, backed by the power of his Persona. This Justice Shot will either cripple the monster or do practically nothing - it has about a half-and-half chance of either.]

[The shot sounds out above the laughing growl of the monster, but the wound does little against its dark hide. It doesn't barreling towards Ken.]

[Ken thrusts his spear towards the monster, trying to hit it in the shoulder or the chest, depending on which he can get at. He's not too worried about getting hurt - he just wants to take this thing out.]

[themonsters]

[The monster takes the edge of the spear to the shoulder before twisting away, bleeding. It pivots on its back legs as they hit the ground, grabbing at Ken's spear with its fangs.]

[withak]

[Katsuya can't get a good shot like that, so his Pesona attacks with fire again, circling around to the monster's other side.]

[themonsters]

[The fire sears at the monster's body, and the laughter rises as it tears away from its target in agony, stubbornly trying to take the spear with it. Whether or not it's successful, it skirts around Ken to try to get him between it and Katsuya.]

[miseris_socios]

[Ken tugs on his spear, trying to hang onto it. That spear's important to him, but the strength of the monster makes him slide along with it. He can't grab his Evoker like this, and so he just keeps tugging, trying to get it back.]

Let go!

[themonsters]

[The eerie laughter continues as the monster viciously pulls at the spear, dragging it and its owner along and further away from Katsuya.]

[withak]

[Seeing Ken's obvious distress over the spear, Katsuya directs Hyperion to attack again with a Hama spell (light instant KO, little less than half) while he comes closer to help hold onto the lance.]

[themonsters]

[Whether the spell doesn't hit or simply has no effect on the monster is not obvious, since it twists away from the light and fights Ken for the spear. But as Katsuya nears, the monster abruptly releases the weapon and lunges at the other man's feet with both teeth and claws, high-pitched laughter following in its wake.]
