Characters: Judas and open
Setting: room 1-10, cafeteria, cathedral, floor 63, floor 12
Format: Starting action but I can match
Summary: Usual newbie stuff
Room 1-10
[After reading the letters set by his bed in confusion, Judas sits up to look around the room. It looks like the other beds are occupied, and the trunk at the foot of his bed is clearly meant for him. He opens it, rifling through to find wine, bread and a familiar suit and set of robes. Definitely a good idea to change. It's hot, his robes would be lighter, although they might be a bit conspicuous in public, and he doesn't want to draw attention. In the end the heat wins out and he changes quickly to leave the room. But first, he has to check if he knows these other people, if anyone from his world was saved. Of course, that means standing over the other beds to scrutinise those sleeping in them.]
Cafeteria
[He knows he should eat the oatmeal, before he forgets, but he really doesn't feel like it. So with a book from the library in front of him, he pokes at the mess in the bowl. Wasting it would be wrong, but if he's not hungry, forcing himself to eat it is also a waste. Maybe he should just give it to someone else?]
Cathedral
[After hearing the faint mumbling of some sort of mass while passing by earlier, Judas returns to the cathedral floor, this time with wine and bread. He saw no one and nothing there, so at the least he could go to listen, and hold his own private communion. He kneels at the altar and bows his head in prayer. For the safety of the world he's left.]
Floor Sixty-Three
[Fishing is a thing Judas likes and would be glad to do. Suddenly falling into a vast expanse of water with fish he doesn't even recognise and is very worried may eat him is not. He struggles against the tide, but his waterlogged robes pull him down, and all he can do is call for help, though he's not so sure anyone will hear him, or care.]
Floor Twelve
[Judas stops dead when he reaches this floor. He wants to believe what seems to be happening all around him is a camera trick, or an animation, maybe something from a movie. But as he watches, it keeps happening, with clearly different worlds each time. If it's a trick, it's terribly elaborate, and as the truth begins to dawn on him, all he can do is weep. Not only the demise of his own world, but so many more. All those people, all their efforts, destroyed in an instant, is too much for him to bear. Especially in knowing somehow he was saved.]

[He's not very familiar with helpful soldiers, having lived in an occupied state, but he at least knows they're out there...]
What makes you interested in biology?
no subject
I mean that it is good for you to have helped and educated the people, but yes, researchers are also helpful. Scientific developments should be used for the good of the populace.
[Most of the researchers he knows aren't helpful at all, but that is what he would he would try to correct.]
I was raised in a biological research lab, and I have always had an interest in it. I used to live with Professor Gast, who is a famous bioengineer.
[He would be more like Professor Gast.]

[He just can't accept that anything he's ever done was good anymore.]
...They raised you in a lab? I...was he your father?
no subject
[This seems beneficial, as far as Sephiroth is concerned.]
No, he was not. I have no father. I was the subject of an experiment.
[He says this more or less unemotionally, as if he has no feelings on the subject.]
no subject
...You can say that so casually? I mean, if you don't mind that, then, that's good, but...I'd think most people would be upset.
no subject
At Judas' question, he falls silent again for a brief time. He does mind. He especially minded after Professor Gast left and he was all alone.]
No, I did not like the lab, but it is destroyed, and all the researchers are dead. I will not return to it. There would be no point in being upset.
[He says this rationally, but when he thinks of it, he does feel something, faint yet warm. What is it? Anger?]

[And inadvertently put Peter in the position of having to deny him to save his own life. If he hadn't joined with the group, they could have continued helping people for so much longer.]
Then you wish to be a researcher despite the experience you had? ...Or is it because of that?
no subject
I would be an ethical, practical researcher.
I would not conduct experiments at random simply to see what happens. [He frowns. Professor Hojo is a terrible researcher, in his opinion.]
no subject
[Although he smiles a little at the boy's words, it's good to see people with some compassion.]
That's exactly what we need in the world. ...And I'm sure in this place too.

[Sephiroth doesn't seem particularly judgmental, however, his opinion purely practical rather than moral, and his expression remaining neutral.]
I believe it will be beneficial, though I do not know what course of research I will pursue.
I have been doing research here, on the monsters, but thus far I have made no discoveries.
no subject
[He's surprised that's all the boy has to comment on, but he can't complain.]
I'm sure it takes everyone a while to find something to specialise in, you have plenty of time to figure it out.
