1st Spell: Arrival

Summary: One brat mage arrives in the tower and she isn't happy.
Warnings: Zoe is an ass, and right now she doesn't plan to be particularly friendly. Also permissions page.

[Room 1-03]

[The first thing Zoe does after reading the letter is to tear it up into little pieces and then throw the pieces away. She is worried about this situation, but she isn't going to show it or even act like she's worried.

So she focuses on what she needs to do next, which is change. So she'll be rifling through the trunk at the end of her bed, grabbing her amulet first of all, before looking over what out fit she wants to wear. And yes, that is a lance and short sword sitting by her feet, but luckily she knows how to use them.]

[Floor 1]

[So, after hearing about how she has to eat the oatmeal first, Zoe eventually wanders down to the cafeteria. And while she isn't as fussy as she used to be, the bowl of oatmeal is getting a look of disgust from the white-haired woman.

Combine that with how she's poking at it with her spoon and is grumbling sourly to herself, and she comes across as a really grumpy and irritated lady.]

[Floor 71]

What the-?! [The first thing Zoe does when she gets to this floor is stumble back, wincing at the squishing sounds her boots make on the stairs. She has to go down, but this floor is just making her stomach turn, and she covers her mouth with her hand as she looks around. This seems more like something a demon would create, but so much worse, and that just unnerves her even more than before.]

What sort of magic is this...?

[Floor 13]

[One thing the Cherubim had told her is that he would send her advice if she needed it if she prayed at a church. She had dismissed this, promising that she would never do that, but now... Maybe it's just reassurance from something familiar she needed, even though she hated the Cherubim, but she had no idea what to do in this weird place with powers she still doesn't understand.

But of course when she does need the advice, she hears nothing, and it's enough to make her laugh bitterly from where she's sitting on a pew, hands clasped and head bowed.]

… Guess I shouldn't be surprised...

I do. If I had the mind of what my soul is, I would be nothing more than a servant who only acts on the orders of superiors.

Well spoken. I rarely meet an angel I am so favorable to.

[papillonmagique]

If the angels you met are anything like the ones I know, I do not blame you. [She huffs her hair away from her eyes, now relaxing slightly.]

Besides, I am not too thrilled about this whole 'angelic soul' thing I have either.

They may be worse... Was it not by your choice?

[papillonmagique]

[Zoe shifts now, looking uncomfortable.] It was either become an angel, or have my family hounded by humans, demons and angels alike for as long as the bloodline exists.

So it was my choice, but not one I am happy about.

[grancenturio]

I see... I can respect a decision like that.

[He wouldn't choose it, but he wants nothing to do with angels any longer except possibly killing them.]

[And Zoe is incredibly loyal to her family.]

... Thank you. I know others would consider it ridiculous with how much I hate what my soul is, but my family comes first to me.

Luckily for us, the number of angels here is minimal.

Oh, that's good. [Another sigh.] I shall make sure to avoid these angels if I ever sense them as well.

... Though are there any demons here?

[grancenturio]

Mm... I have seen a few. But dealing with those is easier.

[papillonmagique]

I have had... Trouble with demons before. But so long as they are not the types to make deals, dealing with them really should be easier.

[grancenturio]

I wish you luck in the tower.

May we move to a different floor first?

Of course. Please, lead the way.

[papillonmagique]

Right, okay. [Just gonna walk across the floor, wincing every time her boots make a squishing sound, before quickly heading down the stairs to the floor below.

And then she just stares at all the machinery.] ... What...?

[grancenturio]

This floor is dangerous to explore too much.

[papillonmagique]

I doubt I want to explore this floor much. I have never been a fan of machines. [And she does lean away when one nearby lets out a loud hiss of steam.]

The processes of machinery can be quite unpleasant even outside of this tower.

[papillonmagique]

It can be. I was raised mostly around magic, so contraptions like this are unnerving to me, and even more so here.

[She continues down the stairs until she finds a spot where there isn't machines hissing at her.]

[Nessiah follows like an irritating burr on the bottom of her foot.]

[That made mun snicker way too much

And this is when Zoe looks back at him.]

Though I have not seen magic like yours before.

Is that so? But I've used hardly any.

[papillonmagique]

But I am assuming you use magic to see. Unless technology in your world has taken a different approach aesthetics-wise from what I have seen.
