Summary: ~Master and Servant bonding~

I. Floor 1 - Cafeteria [CLOSED]
[It isn't exactly out of the ordinary to run into any given person in the cafeteria over the course of the day, all things considered. Shinji just isn't used to the idea of Servants actually eating, and especially not something as mundane as a hamburger. But... Archer sure is there, and he sure is sampling this month's menu.]

[It's a little strange, having to greet his own Servant over lunch. It's certainly different than how things worked in the Moon Cell, at least, and he isn't quite sure how to go about it. After some deliberation, he decides that the Servant should be the one to greet the Master, so he flops down across from Archer without saying anything, chewing his hot dog as imperiously as such a thing can be done.]

II. Floor 14 - Media Room
[Archer grumbles almost crossly to himself and drops his head as his player character screams in defeat on the TV screen. He doesn't even have to think about how many times he's lost at this fighting game because his Master was ... well, Shinji.]

[For his part, Shinji puffs up, as boastful as ever. Like Archer's repeated losses, this is not exactly a surprising turn of events.] Hah, well, you tried. Don't feel bad, though! I doubt there's anyone here who could manage to beat Asia's reigning game champion.

[With just about anyone else, Archer may have given an unimpressed look, or at least thought of it. But his little Game Master is amusing and entertaining when he's in a such a good mood, which in turn helps with lifting his own. With an overdramatic sigh, he sets down the controller and turns on the couch to look at the boy.] I know exactly how to improve my mood. [There isn't any time to process what that means before he acts, flopping ungracefully on top of Shinji.]

Wh— H-hey! [The requisite squawking is accompanied by quite a bit of flailing, Shinji's little fists thumping against his Servant ineffectually.] Get off of me, you flashy buffoon...!

III. Various
[This is the second time Shinji has been carted around on Archer's shoulders like this. He is handling it somewhat better than he did the first, perhaps because of course his Servant should carry him this way. From his perch, he surveys their surroundings as best he can, trying to catch sight of the rarely seen daytime monsters they're hunting for.]

[(Riding on his shoulders this way is actually kind of fun, if he lets himself stop and enjoy it. Archer can move so much more quickly than a human, after all.)]

[Into the evening, the two of them can be found all around the Tower, sometimes with Shinji seated on Archer's shoulders and sometimes with the child trailing behind, scrambling to keep up as they hunt by foot on one floor or another.]

[And Yotsuba couldn't quite understand why Shinji was laughing.]

He couldn't have! Not without a stone!

[At Yotsuba's response, Archer shoots a look over at Shinji -- a look that says, "I can see what you mean."

All the same, he smiles at Yotsuba.]

Do you think he deserved a rock thrown at him if he did not throw one at you?

[Well, he's enjoying this now.]

I guess between the two of us, the bad one is you.

[He tries to sound casual and matter-of-fact, but his amusement leaks into his tone.]

[Well..that was an interesting point, one Yotsuba hadn't quite thought about before. However, when Shinji spoke as she was thinking, she reacted automatically.]

Yotsuba isn't a bad person! He is! He was mean. But..rocks can kill people. Yotsuba's sorry then! I wasn't thinking!

[He doesn't say anything to Shinji's comment; he certainly wasn't about to admonish him for his behavior during the squabble. For now, he just reaches over and pokes Yotsuba on the forehead.]

Precisely. Think a little more and there will be no problems.

Assuming you're able to, anyway.

[Yotsuba wasn't expecting to be poked in the forehead. She got hugs and headpats a lot, but this was a new one, so she rubbed the spot the golden man poked and gave him a small, puzzled look..before glaring at Shinji.]

I'm able to! I'm not stupid! But you have to stop being so mean to people too! There'll be a lot of problems if you make a lot of people angry enough to throw rocks!

[With his piece done for the moment, Archer smirks and settles against the couch to watch the two children. He idly wonders just how escalated something like this could end up becoming.]

Oh, so it's my fault if people can't control themselves like intelligent, civilized human beings? How backwards is that!

[Now he's just kind of goading her.]

[Not that Yotsuba realizes it.]

It isn't! There are lots of good people here, but if you make them mad, they're not going to be nice!

I don't care. I don't need them.

How come?

[That actually catches him off-guard, and for a moment, he's silent. Then:]

What do you mean, how come? I just—don't need them! For anything!

That's what Yotsuba means! You don't need people, even to play with sometimes? You can't play hide-and-seek without someone else!

[Archer finally laughs a little; it was a good argument, even if the flaws were obvious and the whole thing was childish.]

There are games that can be played alone. [He points out.]

[And this caught Yotsuba off guard. Sure, she played by herself when her Daddy was working, but actual games were usually played with other people. So, puzzled, she looked up at him.]

Like what?

There are plenty of games you can play by yourself, dimwit. Have you never touched a video game with single player mode?

[Not that he really thinks playing video games with other people is needing them...]

[While she could kind of guess what a single player mode was, she looked rather puzzled at that question.]

What's a video game?

[For a second, he's gobsmacked by that reply, but then—]

Do you walk around with blinders on or something? This room is full of them.

[Yotsuba took a second look around the room, but all she could see was a T.V. and other cool and weird machines here.]

There's a T.V. here..and a lot of other machines here! But I don't know what they are!

What a shame, to never know what a video game is. [Even he, who hailed from a time long gone, could appreciate video games.] Obviously something that must be rectified.

Yeah, and I'm not going to be the one to do it.

Why not?! You know about them, so you could teach me!

Why should I? There something in it for me?

Yeah! You could play with Yotsuba, even if you are a bad boy!
