Setting: July 8th, 2 PM, Floor 28.
Format: Written in prose, either in comments.
Summary: Yukiko requested a meeting.
Warnings: Persona 4 Arena spoilers, talk about past Tower events, probably some language - not from Yukiko, but from other people.



Before the Meeting:

To say Yukiko was nervous was an understatement. She picked a few notes at the piano she'd chosen to call the meeting together on - she could play a loud middle C, but that was it - now and then, but she was still pacing a little and definitely nervous. Anyone wanting to approach her to calm her down would be most appreciated.

He is done and approaching the ones that are actually being relatively quiet.

"...You two have giant keys, right?" he asked quietly, despite the arguments and his team members not understanding that some topics can be a little too sensitive or alienating for this audience, the Strega members had a point. "Can they lock rooms?"

or are they just really useful for blunt damage.

Xion was a little surprised at being addressed. After all, this whole conversation was way over her head, and leaving her with the distinct impression that she was listening in on something that had absolutely nothing to do with her.

Still, she nodded, glanced over at Riku briefly, before standing up and summoning her Keyblade in a flash of light. She'd done this before after all. Pushing her way towards the entrance to the floor, she came to a halt and aimed her Keyblade at it. A keyhole appeared, inscribed in light. A beam of light issued from the tip of her Keyblade, towards the keyhole. There was the sound of a lock clicking, and a wave seemed to rise up from the floor to the ceiling of the entranceway.

"Me or Riku will have to let us out at the end, but that should work," she said with a nod, then glancing at Yu, added, "I don't think it can do anything about the admins trying to listen to us though."

It'll keep out unwanted visitors, but that's it. There's only so much that she can do, after all.

"Thank you, Xion. And again, I'm sorry; I thought the musical instruments would come on of their own free will, like they always do when I've wandered in here on my own to try and think a little and found it too noisy. I thought they'd cover up the noise."

Yukiko bowed from the waist. "I'm sorry."

One of the violins played an apologetic note as she bowed.

Ryoji has been listening attentively during the discussion, not really finding a good place to interject with what he knows. He does have some idea about Nyx and Thanatos, obviously, but he has no idea how to approach the subject of Nyarlthotep when all he has to provide on that is a hunch that he knows it, somehow.

He almost interjects to support Yukiko when a small argument breaks out, but Yu stops the fight, and he's reluctant to spark the anger again. Eventually, he simply decides to speak now, instead of delaying the issue to wait for the right moment and making excuses.

"Excuse me... I'm sorry to bring this up again, but my name is Ryoji Mochizuki. I'm not a Persona user, but I am connected to it through Nyx and Thanatos. If anyone needs information on those beings, I'm willing to tell you whatever I know. I can't offer much else, but I am stronger than I look...

"If we need to fight, I would like to be on your side."

"You already are, Ryoji, as far as I'm concerned. You always were."

Yukiko's words were simple and to the point. The lack of honorific probably said a lot, but she didn't care.

"You don't want to be on the side of anyone who'd hurt any of us. You used that power to save my life at the barricade.

"It's okay. I - "

She caught herself before saying I love you in public, but the look she gave Ryoji just then would be enough.

"I'll vouch for you."

Riku just nods as Xion uses her Keyblade to lock them in and after a moment he quietly speaks up - given the matter they had been invited about, it seems only polite to share some information themselves.

"They are called Keyblades. Locking or unlocking anything from this door to a world's heart is their primary function."

Though they do double as rather handy weapons.

Wait hold up.

"A world's heart? ... And does that mean you know of multiple worlds?"

He nods.

"I've been to several too, before I wound up here."

For all that the existence of the worlds is something of a secret - or subject of childhood dreams and fairy tales in some cases - back home, keeping it has never made much sense here, not when they are all from different places anyways.
