Summary: Yukiko requested a meeting.
Warnings: Persona 4 Arena spoilers, talk about past Tower events, probably some language - not from Yukiko, but from other people.



Before the Meeting:

To say Yukiko was nervous was an understatement. She picked a few notes at the piano she'd chosen to call the meeting together on - she could play a loud middle C, but that was it - now and then, but she was still pacing a little and definitely nervous. Anyone wanting to approach her to calm her down would be most appreciated.

He quirked his head to look at Naoya, and the look on his face made it clear he'd really rather not.

But, regardless, Jin pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, and leveled a look at the boy before him. "What do you want?"

Naoya didn't even flinch from the stare.

"You're the brightest out of all of us," he replied in a matter-of-fact tone. "You've done research on the tower, right? Did you find anything interesting that might be helpful?"

[morituramfides]

Well that was kind of a weird compliment. It got Jin suspicious, quirking an eyebrow curiously, though he didn't bring it up.

"That's right," He returned, just as matter-of-fact.

"I know all sorts of stuff. Not everything." He was perfectly well aware of the whole 'Pandora' thing and him not having quite as much as they do. "Just gotta put together the pieces if you're looking for something."

Naoya wasn't the type to butter someone else up, at least. He had actually meant that.

"That's fine..." He trailed off, thinking before bringing up his first query. "Did you learn anything about the missing library sections?"

[morituramfides]

"Hm..."

He thought for a moment, evidently turning over the things in his mind.

"Getting them back is impossible. The missing sections were filled in a while back once-- but it was like the data in a computer was corrupted. The files-- the books, were there, but they were unreadable. Either the text was unreadable, or the books would fall apart in an instant."

"Right..." He rubbed his earring in thought. "So why were they there at all..." It was an open question, and something he had been asking himself lately. "Why create that section in the system, only to keep it destroyed."

[morituramfides]

"I don't think they created this system." He adjusted his glasses again, though with far less of the threatening glare and angry glint. This time it was more thoughtful.

"They've been building it up but I don't think they built it in the first place. There's a whole world out there we don't know about-- we know from the space whale invader. Maybe they're just trying to remove what was already programmed in."

"Yeah!" Of course, he should have thought about that. His expression darkens. "I always assumed they were its creators but if they aren't, that means whatever was in there, they wanted it hidden."

So the question then was why?

[morituramfides]

"They're native to this world, so I wouldn't peg them as creators. I guess they don't want us to know about whatever those sections were talking about, and it sounds like those sections have to do with this world itself."

His expression was heavy-- but with that weight was a surprising degree of seriousness and gravity. "Information is powerful-- and dangerous. My bet is that's the reason."

He nods. That was exactly what he was thinking.

"History I can understand. Technology too and even Astral Projection now that I think about what we know...but Philosophy?"

He crossed his arms-- it certainly seemed like the conversatoin had calmed him down.

"Like I said-- information is dangerous. A point of view can be just as bad as a scientific formula. Could be some subjective stuff we know from back home ain't so subjective in this world."
