Characters: Zelgadis and you!
Setting: Room 1-6, or elsewhere in the dorms
Format: I'll reciprocate whichever
Summary: Zel wakes up
Warnings: Zelgagrumping
This wasn't what Zelgadis expected would happen when he woke up. In fact, even the waking up part was a jolt; he still has a spell about to be released in the back of his mind, and he remembers that he was falling, like he tripped over a rock or something, but it doesn't make any sense that he would suddenly be in a place like this.
For a few moments, he strains to move, or yell, or cast a spell, or anything, but nothing happens, as if there just wasn't a connection between his mind and his body. It occurs to him that maybe he did actually die in battle, and he stops flailing at his unresponsive limbs so he can instead try to think a little bit about what all of this means. It doesn't take long for him to notice that he can move again, though, and with the quiet repose of a man who has accepted his own death, he calmly sits up and looks around the room. It's quaint, really, if a bit melodramatically gloomy.
Then he finds the notes, and shortly afterwards, the collar around his neck, and his calm mood drops all the way as far down as the tower goes. He hastily flips through the contents of his trunk, the laughable representation of the world he was plucked from, and grabs his sword. The familiar weight of it sitting around his hips is just one more sensory input in this rapidly solidifying consciousness, and he storms into the hallway with a renewed energy. He's pretty tired of getting jerked around.
"What the hell is going on here?!"
He's not expecting magical answers to drop out of the walls, but shouting lets off a little bit of steam.

For a girl who seemed ready to attack him just moments ago, she sure is reluctant to be left behind now. Of course, she still doesn't trust him, but it's better than being left on her own, right?
"Do you even know where you're going?"
no subject
"I'm going to start with that elevator."
no subject
"Uh-uh, no way. Two is better than one, you know!"
She picks up the pace and moves past him to hit the up and down buttons on the wall, leaving them in an awkward silence as the elevator takes its sweet time to arrive. Turning her back to the elevator, she faces the hallway and huffs.
"When I find out who's responsible for this, I'm going to make them regret ever messing with me."
no subject
Of course, now that she's standing there waiting for the same elevator he wants, he can't really just turn around and leave, right? The awkwardness of the situation is starting to dawn on him, just in time for his initial annoyance to start to fade. His glance darts back down the hallway, and he doesn't really relish waiting for and then sharing an elevator ride with this strange girl.
/slinks in with late tag
While waiting for an elevator with a stranger is always uncomfortable, the tension of the situation is exacerbating it tenfold. She taps her foot on the floor as she waits, before letting out an annoyed huff.
"Jeez, could this thing be any slower?" She starts pressing the button repeatedly, because surely that'll help.
i see you back there
He can hear the elevator clanking along in that shaft, but it barely seems to be getting any closer. Between the foot-tapping and the button-jabbing, Zel's rapidly losing more patience with this uninvited guest than he is with the elevator. He grits his teeth in annoyance, but he's already starting to cool down from being angry about waking up in a strange place.
"Watch it. If you break that thing, it's going to be a long walk down."
no subject
Being stubborn, she continues pressing the button until he mentions breaking it. With a groan, she gives the wall a half-hearted kick and turns around to face him.
Now that she doesn't have anything else to look at, she can't help but fixate on his...well, strange appearance. Catching herself staring, she quickly looks down, finding a spot on the floor to be fascinating, and continues staring at that even when she leans back against the wall.
"Ugh, this is so lame!"
no subject
After what seems like eight or nine eternities later, the elevator dings and the door slides open. He's relieved to see that it's empty, taking a moment to determine that it's not obviously trapped with anything, then steps inside to stare at the panel of buttons.
"...is that it?"
No, he hasn't decided which one to push yet.
no subject
"Seriously? This place is huge!" She moves closer to the panel and examines it, fingers hovering over the buttons.
"Well...first floor is the one we want, right?" Without giving him a chance to reply, she press the button and the elevator begins its slow descent.
no subject
"Do you realize how long we might be in here? Do you realize this could be a trap? Quit being so hasty!"
no subject
She is worrying a bit that she might have sprung a trap, but there's no way she'll admit it to this guy. But now as they're stuck in the elevator together, there's nothing else to do besides address the elephant in the room.
"So...what's with your skin?"
no subject
"I'm a chimera, comprised of human, stone golem, and brau demon parts." Ask a straight question, get a straight answer, but the tone of his voice makes it clear that his problem is more with the facts that he stated, rather than her asking him about it.
He inches into the corner of the elevator as far away from the nosy girl as possible, wishing it was possible to disappear through the wall.
