Hacking #13: Rest (Closed)

Summary: Due to a combination of Aleph's towerversary and recent plot happenings, they decided a date was needed in order to unwind a bit.


[It's in the evening when they head down to the meadow floor, April with a couple of bags slung over her shoulder; one with food and one with something she had made for Aleph. She eventually flops onto the ground under a tree with a sigh, and glances over at him with a small smile.]

It's nice to have a bit of a break, huh?

It is. [Aleph sits down gently beside her, sliding an arm over her shoulder.]

[She makes a quiet squeak sound in surprise, but she leans against him with a content sigh.]

The last few days have been way too hectic... I think I got a few paper cuts from posting those messages up.

My handwriting's terrible, I only put up a few.

[technologic]

So is mine, I ended up cheating and used stencils in the end. [Sigh. And then she motions to the bags first.]

So, um, what do you want first? Food or present?

[alephbet]

Food might go bad. That first.

[technologic]

Mm, okay! [And from one of the bags she pulls out tupperware boxes containing hotdogs, hamburgers and different kinds of pizza. There's also a box of cake and flasks containing soda and juice.]

... I, ah, might have went a bit overboard when I made all this.

[alephbet]

No, no, it looks like a great picnic. [He gives her a kiss on the cheek.]

[Now she's blushing.]

I-I hope it tastes as good as it looks... I-I've, um, never made hamburgers or hotdogs or pizza before...

[It would have been easier to snag the ones already made in the cafeteria, but April thought it would be better to make them herself, since she made the cake herself too.]

I think they're pretty simple.

[He picks up a burger and takes a small bite.]

It's different than making cake, though.

[But despite her fretting, the food does taste good. April just worries too much.]

It's good, April. You can relax.

[technologic]

A-ah, that's good... [Siiiigh and she relaxes, before taking a bite of a hotdog.]

... So, how're you feeling? [Since towerversary and plot shenanigans.]

[alephbet]

I'm not sure. Thinking about all the people who've gone home... that they could be in danger...

[technologic]

... Yeah... [April glances down, before she nods firmly to herself.] But we'll stop Ruana and save them, I'm certain of it!

[alephbet]

We will. I'm absolutely sure of it. [Nod.]

[technologic]

Mmhm! We've both done things that were considered impossible, and if we all work together, I'm sure we can all save them!

[alephbet]

Exactly. After all that we've done there's no way we'll be defeated.

[technologic]

Hehe, exactly! [And she happily takes a bite of her hotdog.] It'll be hard, but we'll win and then we'll get to go home.

I've missed it a lot. It's been a long time...

[He nibbles on his burger again.]

Yeah... But at least we'll have a story to tell everyone when we get back?

Plenty of stories.

... Probably more about the monsters and events here, but there should hopefully be a few good ones too.
