[ floor 29 - gardens ]
The fragrant smells of the garden danced around Tear as she stepped onto the floor. After waking up abruptly from her sleep, seemingly missing her weapon mace, Tear went in search for them. After finding her proper clothes or clothes that seemed proper enough for her, the maiden wandered into this floor. The smell reminded her of Auldrant, and there was a sort of frown placed on her face as she remembered from reading that it told her some details about her world being destroyed. The collar on her neck was a huge indication telling her that she was not dreaming but in reality. It felt as though this place seemed rather foreboding.
She kept her guard as she slowly and quietly ventured her way down the garden and into the maze. She didn't seem to find danger to be a problem, since she was used to it on a daily basis. What frustrated her was the fact that she and her friends were fighting to stop her brother, and in the end, their world was destroyed. She wasn't sure exactly how she was suppose to take all the information in but she managed to somehow suppress the thoughts from going out of control. There was a solemn look on her face, masking any of her concerns as she ventured to cool her head and tried to find her lost companions. She only hoped that they were alive.
She did not want to believe such things were true but even so, if the outcomes were true, she would still hide her sorrow. Tear always hid everything from the naked eye. It was not easy to express herself as others did. Legretta did a great job keeping her like this and at a time like this it was quite useful without a doubt. While she was treading this area, Tear was also trying to find her companions, her friends. They were nowhere to be seen, but she didn't want to think that they were dead. She couldn't believe that Auldrant could end with that. She had to make sure she could find her friends and ensure their safety.
That was the thing that brought her to this area in the first place.
[ floor 19 - library ]
In the luxury of the library, the fonist was casually going through various types of books to skim through and retain information. It didn't seem like the library provided much, but being someone who was proactive on learning about her situation, Tear definitely had been reading a lot of books. If anyone caught her, she's surrounded by a few piles of book in the deepest corner of the library. She was leaving that space for now to go through more books to take back to her spot with her. It might be strange, to some, but information was crucial. Tear was a soldier and taking action was what she needed to do to find answers.
She didn't find her friends and she had no idea how to access the communication servers. The library was the best choice. She wondered if she could still find her friends. There were various floors lining this tower and it appeared endless. It seemed like it was an impossible task but she knew she was going to find them no matter what. At least, until people told her otherwise. Tear wasn't going to believe simple things without evidence. She needed proof that her friends were dead. Otherwise, she was going to believe in them and know that they were alive and out there. They were strong people and she didn't want to belittle their willpower and their strengths. They would pull through somehow.
Most of all, the lack of a certain red head also worried her. She was concerned for his safety and what might have become of him if something like this were to happen. Knowing the painful truth of his demise made everything seem colder and darker. Tear concentrated on her readings, but those thoughts continued to plague the back of her mind.
[ floor 13 - gothic cathedral ]
Anyone passing by the Gothic Cathedral could hear a voice penetrating it's premise. The sound is melodic and the song sounds like a hymn of some sort. It was sung in a language that was hardly recognizable except for those who frequently spoke and knew the language. The singing continued for a long time, as if someone was trying to make a point or a gesture with the lyrics. If anyone approached the actual cathedral, and entered it, sitting in one of the wooden benches would be a young girl with long light brown hair singing loudly. Her attire appeared to be something foreign and her posture seemed very strict. Other than that the sounds continued to penetrate the walls of the Gothic Cathedral.
Tear was using this opportunity to relax herself and sing to her heart's content. She was distressed because she was unable to see the end of what was about to be finished. She didn't get to say anything to her brother. She didn't get to do anything because she was here. It was a feeling of helplessness and frustration that built up while she was sitting there singing. She ventured many floors and ended up with this one, in which reminded her dearly of home. A place where she wanted to protect and a place that she wanted to see flourish.
Eventually, depending on the time she was approach, Tear might be sitting staring at the decorations and the glass of the Cathedral that somewhat reminded her of Daath, in which she sort of had a lingering attachment to. The Daathic Catedral. It left memories but at the same time, it was also a place of her mentor and teacher as well as her own soldier life before everything fell apart. She still hoped that there was a way to save Auldrant, even if it was said to be destroyed. She couldn't believe it all. Was all the effort for naught? Everything was meshed in her mind and Tear was unsure what to do about it other than moving forward. Moving forward was always what she did but what about now?

musing about his existence as always, finding joy in little things, tormenting others, the works, the life of a counterpart was such a busy time. still, he had been told by diarmuid many times that he could become something, and by tear that he wasn't just a copy.... but could he really believe any of that?
he was walking down one of the paths as well, and he spotted her, his crimson eyes widening for a moment before he narrowed them once more, that sadistic smile rising to his features as he went over to her.]
Tear...! It's been a while.
[...he hadn't known that she had been taken away and come back once more, he had no idea if she even remembered him. oh what cruel fate...]
no subject
She was about to get her answer as she raised her guard more and lowered her hand to secret compartment. If anything were to happen, she'd take action immediately. That smiling face seemed rather unsettling as she was approached and called by that expression. ]
Who are you and why do you know my name?
[ She almost narrowed her eyes. Tear was overly cautious regarding those who knew her name. Was he an Oracle Soldier, an enemy? She never saw anyone like that in her brother's ranks and she certainly didn't recall ever meeting anyone dressed like that in Auldrant. ]
1/2
for once, it was battler that stopped as well. he had his hands in his pockets, and he looked relatively relaxed for the time being, however that question of hers made him cease everything.]
You..... you do not remember me?
[they had only talked once, but their conversation was something he had carried with him in the tower.]
no subject
....Hehh... I see....
[he understood now. after a small laugh escaped his lips he looked back at her once more.]
Do not be so alarmed, I merely met you before at this.... wonderful place. Would you believe me if I said that? Perhaps the tower took you away and returned you only to have you lose your memories... aah.... such a thought... how it pains me. [he sounded pained, actually, but yet he still wore that grin.]
no subject
I don't believe we have met before. I do not recall anyone from Auldrant who looks like you.
[ She replied carefully and controlled. She was hoping that nothing will happen. Perhaps, an explanation would work better for her part. She didn't know that she was here before. So that was a surprise for her to learn she was. ]
Not to be rude, but I don't recall being here in this...Tower before.
[ There was a pause. ] Does the Tower have such abilities? [ her tone didn't sound so guarded anymore but she still kept herself secured for the time being until she could prove that he wasn't anyone dangerous. ] My apologies, but it is hard to believe what you are saying is true. Even if that were to happen, why would they take memories from people? What purpose would it serve this...Tower to do such things?
[ She was clouded by questions and clouded by her own concern for her allies and friends. If she was here before as he said, then there must be something going on that she did not know of. The more she was learning about this foreign place, the more unsettling it becomes. It was true that he did not sound like he was lying either. It seemed genuine and honest enough but she couldn't believe it fully. ]
no subject
was it better to forget this tower, only to return? how interesting.]
It does. I have left before as well, but as you can see... I'm back. The Tower can do whatever it desires and those that run it.
But believe me, we have conversed before... you told me about... ah... replicas, was it?
no subject
So the tower has such abilities.
[ An unsettling ability, actually. She doesn't like it.
She doesn't change her expression as he mentions replicas, but she knows it might not be a fabrication. The mere mention of replicas makes it difficult for her to not believe him. ] I'm not quite sure what you believe I've said but, I suppose it is difficult to fabricate information, especially information regarding replicas. Are you from Auldrant then?
[ She has yet to register that people are from different worlds. She just knows that her world has ceased to exist according to a piece of paper. ]
no subject
[he shakes his head at her question.]
I am not... I'm from a different world, a realm full of fantasy creatures and mysteries... ah, Rokkenjima, to be specific. [a small island in japan, and oh the secrets it holds, it's all so fascinating.]
...I merely.... have first hand experience with copies and the like. It was why there was a mention of replicas.
no subject
Is that possible for individuals from different worlds to be taken here?
[ It's definitely surreal to her. Tear has never heard of such things before. It's hard to believe anything for the time being, but information is useful and she's not turning it down. ]
I see, so you've been involved with replicas. Is this some sort of replica facility, or is it something else altogether?
no subject
[how can he even answer that question? recently they had learned they're all just wire with apparent souls attached. so in a sense, they are all copies...
but, he's not entirely sure, he hasn't even been alive long enough to give her a definite answer. the woes of being created and then cast aside after the purpose was fulfilled.]
Not exactly... no.... we're here from all different worlds and realms.
no subject
[ A statement more than a question but Tear was starting to grasp how dangerous this place was, despite lacking the memories or lacking the knowledge. It was hard to believe anything right now but she didn't think that people would make these things up. He seemed rather serious on the accord of knowing her and giving her factual information but she was wary. ]
Do you know their purpose? For what reason other than paying a debt of them being saviours do they hold us captive?
no subject
[sadly.]
...But, I suppose I should introduce myself again, seeing as how you do not recall me. You may call me Battler... [the same name as his counterpart, how... hideous.]
no subject
[ Tear Didn't like it, not being able to know her sit ]
That's quite alright. A pleasure to make your acquaintances, Battler. I suppose you are already aware of my name and my position, but I am Tear Grants.
no subject
The pleasure is all mine... [he straightened up.] So, now that's out of the way, what were you doing here...all alone...?
no subject
I was trying to find clues, or perhaps answers for this foreign place, however it seems like this tower has a lot of floors.
[ She replied giving him a straight answer. Tear was clear on her motive, and it was trying to find a way out of this place, somehow. ]
no subject
[he laughs.] How unfortunate... anything could happen on those floors.
[he sounds as if he'd know, as if he has something to hide.]
no subject
[ She looked off. ] I suppose so, but as long as I'm careful, it should be okay.
[ She wonders what he me means by those words, and her further suspicion of him hasn't subsided yet. ]
no subject
[magic? it must be.]
Careful...? Yes, and you're a strong woman, I'm assuming? [able to defend herself and all that.]
no subject
[ Tear isn't one to believe such things without an explanation. There had to be a reason, a motive. Yet, she didn't comment on it any further. ]
I am a trained soldier.
[ She replied bluntly. ]
