[ floor 29 - gardens ]
The fragrant smells of the garden danced around Tear as she stepped onto the floor. After waking up abruptly from her sleep, seemingly missing her weapon mace, Tear went in search for them. After finding her proper clothes or clothes that seemed proper enough for her, the maiden wandered into this floor. The smell reminded her of Auldrant, and there was a sort of frown placed on her face as she remembered from reading that it told her some details about her world being destroyed. The collar on her neck was a huge indication telling her that she was not dreaming but in reality. It felt as though this place seemed rather foreboding.
She kept her guard as she slowly and quietly ventured her way down the garden and into the maze. She didn't seem to find danger to be a problem, since she was used to it on a daily basis. What frustrated her was the fact that she and her friends were fighting to stop her brother, and in the end, their world was destroyed. She wasn't sure exactly how she was suppose to take all the information in but she managed to somehow suppress the thoughts from going out of control. There was a solemn look on her face, masking any of her concerns as she ventured to cool her head and tried to find her lost companions. She only hoped that they were alive.
She did not want to believe such things were true but even so, if the outcomes were true, she would still hide her sorrow. Tear always hid everything from the naked eye. It was not easy to express herself as others did. Legretta did a great job keeping her like this and at a time like this it was quite useful without a doubt. While she was treading this area, Tear was also trying to find her companions, her friends. They were nowhere to be seen, but she didn't want to think that they were dead. She couldn't believe that Auldrant could end with that. She had to make sure she could find her friends and ensure their safety.
That was the thing that brought her to this area in the first place.
[ floor 19 - library ]
In the luxury of the library, the fonist was casually going through various types of books to skim through and retain information. It didn't seem like the library provided much, but being someone who was proactive on learning about her situation, Tear definitely had been reading a lot of books. If anyone caught her, she's surrounded by a few piles of book in the deepest corner of the library. She was leaving that space for now to go through more books to take back to her spot with her. It might be strange, to some, but information was crucial. Tear was a soldier and taking action was what she needed to do to find answers.
She didn't find her friends and she had no idea how to access the communication servers. The library was the best choice. She wondered if she could still find her friends. There were various floors lining this tower and it appeared endless. It seemed like it was an impossible task but she knew she was going to find them no matter what. At least, until people told her otherwise. Tear wasn't going to believe simple things without evidence. She needed proof that her friends were dead. Otherwise, she was going to believe in them and know that they were alive and out there. They were strong people and she didn't want to belittle their willpower and their strengths. They would pull through somehow.
Most of all, the lack of a certain red head also worried her. She was concerned for his safety and what might have become of him if something like this were to happen. Knowing the painful truth of his demise made everything seem colder and darker. Tear concentrated on her readings, but those thoughts continued to plague the back of her mind.
[ floor 13 - gothic cathedral ]
Anyone passing by the Gothic Cathedral could hear a voice penetrating it's premise. The sound is melodic and the song sounds like a hymn of some sort. It was sung in a language that was hardly recognizable except for those who frequently spoke and knew the language. The singing continued for a long time, as if someone was trying to make a point or a gesture with the lyrics. If anyone approached the actual cathedral, and entered it, sitting in one of the wooden benches would be a young girl with long light brown hair singing loudly. Her attire appeared to be something foreign and her posture seemed very strict. Other than that the sounds continued to penetrate the walls of the Gothic Cathedral.
Tear was using this opportunity to relax herself and sing to her heart's content. She was distressed because she was unable to see the end of what was about to be finished. She didn't get to say anything to her brother. She didn't get to do anything because she was here. It was a feeling of helplessness and frustration that built up while she was sitting there singing. She ventured many floors and ended up with this one, in which reminded her dearly of home. A place where she wanted to protect and a place that she wanted to see flourish.
Eventually, depending on the time she was approach, Tear might be sitting staring at the decorations and the glass of the Cathedral that somewhat reminded her of Daath, in which she sort of had a lingering attachment to. The Daathic Catedral. It left memories but at the same time, it was also a place of her mentor and teacher as well as her own soldier life before everything fell apart. She still hoped that there was a way to save Auldrant, even if it was said to be destroyed. She couldn't believe it all. Was all the effort for naught? Everything was meshed in her mind and Tear was unsure what to do about it other than moving forward. Moving forward was always what she did but what about now?

"Mhm, two of them. Only, one of them disappeared..." At about the same time the other you did, Anise thinks but doesn't say. It was really obvious that Luke had a thing for Tear (at least it was during the Anise came from), but she wasn't sure how this Tear felt about him. She could tease with the best of them... but right after waking up in a place like this was probably too soon.
She leans back on her heels and studies Tear for a moment. "That's what I thought. You're a new Tear. But that's okay!" She grins. "I'm really glad to get to see you again! I was worried... It's been months and months. You'd miss me too if I was gone for that long, right?"
no subject
"Is it the will of the tower that did it, the other Luke's disappearance?" she mused after a moment of silence. She felt an inch of pain sort of creeping at her chest. She may no know if this Luke was the one she knew, but it was painful to know that he had disappeared. Tear's feelings for Luke wee questionable. She didn't quite know what it was that she felt.
"I suppose so," she replied giving her a small smile, "I'm glad to see you as well, Anise and yes of course."
She replied nodding her head. Anise was one of her friends, of course she would miss the lively headstrong guardian if she wasn't around, just like how she worried about all her companions.
no subject
"The administrators might have been the reason he disappeared, but um..." There's really no good way to say what comes next; but Tear can handle it, she's sure. She's a soldier, after all. "I don't think they'd have done it on purpose. One of them likes making us play games and one of them likes using us for experiments, and they wouldn't have people to do those things with if they sent us home, you know?"
Not to mention, where would they even be sent if their worlds were destroyed? When Anise thinks about it she starts to dwell on how Auldrant might have ended, how maybe if she'd known about it she could have done something, and then she starts to feel guilty. She doesn't like that feeling - she had quite enough of it when Ion died - and so she just doesn't let herself think about it.
"I'm glad you're here, Tear."
no subject
"I suppose that makes sense, but at the same time, perhaps in some ways, they get bored. Perhaps, there are other reasons for people merely, disappearing," she muses in reply to her. Honestly, Tear is a little unsettled but she's going to be fine as she slowly wraps her mind around all the foreign things the tower has to offer.
Maybe not their own world, or perhaps they simply just die? The thought of it only made Tear look down. There were many possibilities of anything if the tower can abduct people in claims of saving them from their doomed worlds. Tear understood how Anise felt, because out of everyone, Anise took Ion's death the hardest. Tear won't bring up the subject or mention it. It is better that way.
"I suppose it is for the best," she smiled, "It will be easier now that we are together."
no subject
Anise smiles. What else can she do? It would be fundamentally wrong for her to be sad when one of her friends has reappeared, even if it's not a version of her friend that remembers being here already.
And besides - there's not much else she can do aside from smile. She has to keep her spirits up so that Ion doesn't worry, and if she can keep the rest of their spirits up, too, that's even better. It meant that they wouldn't be giving up anytime soon.
(And besides, says a small, prideful part of her, There's nothing better for morale than the smile of a cute girl!)
"It's gonna take some getting used to," She warns. "We all went through a lot on Auldrant, but this place is really different."
no subject
She sets aside the unsettling thoughts, to focus on more important things. Anise seems to know a lot more than this, and perhaps Tear can get some more from her.
"I hope that this will be temporary," she replies after hearing Anise's words, "I'll keep that in mind," meaning she will be careful when she's around dangerous areas.
"Yes, I can already tell that it isn't the same from Auldrant. Whatever is happening here is a lot different, and much more complicated. Is there anything else that you know Anise?"
no subject
Everyone had different things that they worried about right when they got here, after all. Tear seems to have done a few things before coming to this particular part of the Tower, so Anise thinks she's probably already heard the you-have-to-eat-oatmeal-and-sleep-where-they-put-you spiel, but one can never be too careful. Especially when it came to surviving around here.
"Is there anything people have already told you, or anything you had other questions about?"
no subject
She mused after a moment of silence. It was better to know if there were other alternative motives that were involved. She also wanted to know what dangerous creatures roamed what floors and room if Anise knows any of that information but she'll start with this one for now. The basics was given to her but there was a lot of things she was sure that Anise knew more of than some people. Only because, she trusts Anise's more than strangers. Her allies are more trustworthy than strangers. Tear has to be weary about strangers.
Who knows if they are part of the Tower lying to her as well.
no subject
Seriously. Dumb. "One of the people in charge, I think her name is Ruana... she likes to play games with people. I think maybe she brought us all here to play with." Which is stupid, because you can play games without tormenting others, and all of Ruana's games are awful.
If Anise ever sees another masquerade mask, it will be too soon.
"And one of the others named Jason likes to do experiments. I don't think I like being his lab rat!"
She's really going to let him have it, someday. Her intention is plain to see on her face.
no subject
To play.
Tear doesn't like the sound of that at all and she gives the other a serious look this time, "I suppose these admins have a rather twisted sense of humor."
She doesn't like the theory but it made more sense than anything so she's not putting it past her.
"Someone who wants to play and someone who wants to make a lab rat out of someone. I don't like where this is going. Is there any way we can stop it, or prevent it?"
She can tell that Anise isn't toying around.
i never realized how dependent i was on my paid until it expired lmao...
Then she sighs and her shoulders slump. "Only they're really strong, so that would probably just get a bunch of people in trouble... but we've gotta keep trying!"
She looks up. "They have to have some weakness. No one is invincible, so we just have to find what'll work on them! Right?"
slgjsljds feel you on that one XD!! I can not have my paids dsdgkds
Tear replies back to Anise. She agrees that they should drag the out of their hiding spots and break them, but it doesn't seem like the smartest idea. Everything with due time. Tear doesn't her friends to get injured or hurt trying to take on something they have little or no information on. While Anise's idea is somewhat rational considering their situation, Tear still isn't allowing it to happen, however.
"We only need to find a weakness, an opening like we always do, Anise. Once we grasp that, it will be done."
She adds trying to comfort her smaller friend.
"Yes, of course, Anise."
