[Dorm Room 2-08]
[Upon waking up, his first cue was the temporary sleep paralysis that threw him for a loop. When Kido became more conscious, he grew aware that nothing around him was his own. The room, the bed...this suit? Considering that, through everyone's efforts, was able to put an end to Sensui things would have calmed down. And he got turned down by the girl he asked out. When reading the letter, Kido hadn't expected trouble to surface so soon. He didn't want to buy that his world was in ruins like it stated.

Eventually he pulled himself off the bed to notice a trunk at the end of the bed. You gotta open things lying around right? Well he did, and look it here, some actual clothes were in it! They weren't just any clothes either, they were his.]


[Media Room]
[Now that he was all dressed and proper he had moved on from the dorm room. Media room was a little spice of home, but this wasn't really the time to play around. Every so often he would have to take breaks from those flight of stairs. Yusuke could probably scale them no problem. Hell anyone from his group could have. He didn't venture onto any untrustworthy floors. Which was a lot of them, especially the gory and scenic ones. Because one, who walks into a blood floor? And two, how can landscape even prosper inside a building? A media room was a little more reasonable and others were already here.]


[Cafeteria]
[Lastly was the cafeteria, the very bottom of the tower and also one of the floors that seemed to harbor a large number of people. At least compared to most of the others. The menu...was as various as ever. Nutrition bars and water...then the oatmeal.]

Is this an institution?

[What kind of salvation was this?]

Well..it is horrible, but not all of them are like that. Dax was a good man while he was alive, and while Zo doesn't have much power, he's still pretty kind to us. And we're working to overthrow them and learn more about this place.

Skirmishes for power usually have causalities don't they?

Usually..but that doesn't make the casualties any better, you know. And none of the residents have died a permanent death here. At least, not yet.

Yet. So you're sayin' it's a possibility?

Well, if Jason ever decides to stop putting our souls in these bodies, then we'll start dying permanently.

[shadowpractice]

I don't think it would deter the people who want to help others.

[tohko_amano]

Of course not! However, it is something to keep in mind so that we don't get too careless and rack up unnecessary deaths.

[shadowpractice]

What would consider it unnecessary? I know plenty of people who would gives there's up at the drop of the hat for everyone else.

There's nothing wrong with fighting and possibly dying to protect your friends, family, allies, and anyone else you want to..but if you're going after monsters when you don't have to and die, I would consider that a pretty sad and unnecessary death.

[The monsters didn't escape his attention.] People purposely challenge them?

[Well that expects. Even Yusuke and the others would fight them to pass time but...]

Are they underestimated?

They do, in order to get stronger, to relieve boredom, and to relieve stress. I don't think anyone that goes after them fully underestimates them..but there are so many variables here that could lead to your death, and there are way too many monsters here, especially at night. You could easily pick one off in front of you, only to be stabbed in the back a few minutes later because you let your guard down.

[So it wasn't so much their power as it was their number. That was good to know.] Things to get out of hand quickly when you're outnumbered.

Exactly. Plus, there are probably some monsters here that can only be killed by certain things. That's pretty common in stories, and I wouldn't put it past Jason to throw monsters like that at us.
