Characters: Yotsuba Koiwai and you!
Setting: The meadow, the mailroom, and most of anywhere else.
Format: I'm starting in prose, but I'll match you.
Summary: A catch-all post for the Individuation event.
Warnings: Other than a crying Yotsuba, I can't think of anything right now.

At first, the shadows following her had been a little scary, mostly because Yotsuba didn't know where they came from or why they were following her. But it was kind of fun to have them follow her around, like they were all playing one huge game of follow the leader! So, she didn't mind them following her into the mailroom and laughed a little as she looked inside her mailbox..and pulled out a photo of her Daddy hugging her, Jumbo next to them, and the family next door-Ena, Fuka, Asagi, and their Mommy-surrounding them in the background. Surprised and happy, Yotsuba's eyes shined as she looked at the photograph before showing it to the shadows.

"Look! They're all here! Daddy and Jumbo and Fuka and-"

"Those aren't them. That's a lie, Yotsuba." That voiced surprised her, not because it came from one of the shadows, but because it sounded like Jumbo! "It's not! And why do you sound like Jumbo?! It's a good photo-oh.." As she spoke, Yotsuba kept looking at the photograph, just to make sure that it wasn't a lie..but slowly, it changed so that it showed her in a dying wasteland with her family and friends dead all around her.

"No..everything's gonna be fixed..and I'm not alone.."

Here, Yotsuba could be found sitting here with her sketchbook, crayons and Little Yoba, trying to draw what she thought was going to be the actual future. However, she didn't look very happy, and while she did make an honest attempt at it, it was very hard to draw when the souls of the people you loved kept belittling you. Eventually, while they were still there, Yotsuba mostly just hugged Little Yoba and weakly spoke to Daddy and Jumbo, who kept telling her that they didn't love her, that if Daddy hadn't adopted her, he might have been saved, and that Enoch, Diarmuid, and everyone else was going to break their promise and leave her too, all alone in the horrible place she saw.

This..was way too much for her to handle. Eventually, despite a few optimistic comments to the shadows and asking them why they hated her now, Yotsuba just started crying on Little Yoba and talking to her dolly. "Yotsuba doesn't even know what adopted is..do you know, Little Yoba?"

Yotsuba had a tendency to run around and explore, and this wouldn't change that..but she would be looking for Enoch, answers..and silence. She's pretty much free to bump into your characters, even though she'll be more tired than usual, and even though her collar will slowly become lighter, though Yotsuba herself won't notice until someone else points it out.

"He's really strong and brave right?" Romeo told her, "He will be able to get back!"

While Yotsuba wasn't one to deny that Jumbo was huge and strong, she didn't want her friend to run away. Just because he hated her now and spewed cruel words at her didn't mean that she hated him. She had missed him for quite awhile, so she didn't want him to run away again!

"..Okay..but we'll look for him when we're done."

And with that, Yotsuba went back to coloring. It was a half-hearted attempt though, and she kept looking out of the room while her Daddy spoke to her.

"See, Yotsuba? You're so bad that Jumbo doesn't even want to deal with you anymore. He's going to hide and never come out again."

..That was it. She couldn't be brave after both of those things. She tried, but as she was coloring she just started crying, and had to look away so that she didn't get the paper wet.

Romeo was at her side in moments, reaching out to wipe the tears away. "Don't cry Yostuba, it's okay, everything is going to be okay I promise okay."

Yotsuba, of course, would wipe at them and try to not blubber too much, but really..this was just a straw upon the tiny camel's back.

"You promise? You won't forget or break it?!"

Sadly, just because he promised didn't mean she'd be able to stop crying instantly.

"I wont." He brought his hand in a fist to his heart and used his other hand to move Yotsuba's hand to her own chest. "This means promise okay, it's bigger than promise, and can't ever be broken. I'm going to fix things, with all the adults and then you can go back and live in heaven with your daddy and Jumbo and be happy for ever and ever and ever." He had tears in his own eyes.

Romeo's vow might have actually worked at cheering Yotsuba up a little bit, since something bigger than a promise was new to her and the whole thing sounded reassuring. However, it was when he mentioned that she would be in Heaven with Daddy and Jumbo that he messed up, and the fact that her Shadow Daddy was still speaking to her didn't help.

"See? The only place you can be with me is death. So hurry up and die, Yotsuba. If you reincarnate quickly enough, I won't even mind that much."

So, sadly, Yotsuba just kept on crying as Romeo spoke and as he moved to put her hand on her chest.

"But..we'll be dead in Heaven! We'll reincarnate!"

"But you will be together and really because everyone will be there it will just be like everyone's alive. But it's heaven so it will be nice and no bad things will ever happen."

"But..we all come from different worlds! And we'll all haveta reincarnate, so we won't be together forever and we can't eat curry, since we're dead!"

Romeo has no idea what reincarnate meant but Yotsuba was still sad. Romeo blinked at her, "Well we can just eat lots of curry before then. Come on Yotsuba you're a big girl right? Big girl's don't cry they keep their spirits up!"

If Romeo asked Yotsuba, she would happily tell him what little she knew, even if the idea was very simple. However..Yotsuba also knew that she didn't feel like a big girl. Or brave. What if Daddy decided to wander off too?

"But..what about after? There's no curry in Heaven because we're all dead.."

She was starting to stop, but..she was far from happy.

"How do you know? How do you know there's not angel curry! I bet if we asked mister Enoch he would tell us there is curry in heaven." He nodded firmly.

Well..that was an interesting question, and Yotsuba wasn't quite sure she knew the answer to that. If she did, it had long since been forgotten.

"We'll have to ask him when we see him next time..but we'd still be dead in Heaven!"

"Which, quite frankly, would be nice. Hopefully the Angels don't sort us together."

"But that's not too bad because we get to be together." He smiled at her again. "Everyone together."

"Until we all reincarnate.." And then, suddenly, a thought hit Yotsuba again. It was something that had stuck with her back when she helped a mother bury her baby here.

"Does Heaven exist in all the worlds? Is it the same Heaven, or is it different?"

"I don't know. It might be a different one. Or maybe they are all joined together, like one heaven that goes between all the worlds." He told her. "That would be nice."

"It would be..maybe Enoch or Luci knows! We should ask them when we see them again."

Thankfully, Yotsuba seemed to have calmed down quite a bit and cheered up a little.

"We can! We will have lots of questions for them!"

"Okay! Maybe Enoch will know, or Lucifel, if he doesn't remember! But..Enoch promised to restore everything to normal, so Yotsuba doesn't think we're going to die yet."

"Well maybe he will!" Romeo grinned, "The adults have lots of ideas."

"He will! He promised, and he said it was really hard for him to forget promises and I told him that Juralumin would be super sad if he forgot! So he won't forget! Everything will be restored!"

"Mister Enoch is a really good person so if he promised he wont break it!"

"He won't! Enoch's a super good person! He helped me make my sling and Lucifel's supporting him, so he won't fail!"

"I don't know mister Lucifel but I bet he's really nice!" Romeo smiled and went back to his side of the table, to keep making his puppet.
