Format: Action-mingle - start your own threads!
Summary: The event is over and everyone who was stuck in the dorms needs a serious bath.
Warnings: Post-event shenanigans? Also baths so p much everyone is at least partially naked.

And so now that you've made your way free of the hell that is the dorm rooms -

This floor mimics a sauna--there are three entrances: one for men, one for women, and one for mixed. Inside each room is the wooden interior one would expect. Outside each area is a small changing room with lockers--if you look, you'll find one with your name on it. The locker will only open up for you. It might be a good place to store things, actually...

- it's time for everyone to take a bath! There's both hot, steamy stalls and large hot spring pools - but you'd better hurry! It's gonna get crowded in here kind of fast.

And hey, keep that towel closed, there's children in here!

[He pets Urotsuki's hair as he listens to her mumble, then clucks his tongue.]

Are you referring to something back in your world? Any hospital there would be destroyed -- very much destroyed.

[Not exactly comforting, but what else can he say?]

Have you ever been to a hospital..?

[ She has to ask him. Maybe he just doesn't get since he's never been to one. Granted, it's more just that she has much more of a hospital trauma than other people so she reacts to them much worse, but it's not like she can comprehend it that easily. ]

I have been in one, yes.

[Come on, little one. He'll pick her up and carry her over to a bench -- because that's simpler than guiding her over.]

Not for long, of course.

[ At least it's easy to pick her up. Even if Gilgamesh wouldn't be.. well, Gilgamesh, Urotsuki's not tall at all and pretty light, not to mention she doesn't resist at all. She's like some sort of limp doll until he puts her down on the bench. ]

They aren't nice places.. I hate hospitals. It's where.. life ends..

Life ends everywhere. [He tilts his head at the little girl, a little curious about the topic.]

Was that where you were, before here?

One time before.

I saw it in my dreams, but.. I've been there before when I was awake. Since he was in the hospital. [ She just starts rambling, as if she isn't even explaining it to him anymore at this point, but that she's rather just saying it out loud to herself. ] I was there multiple times, but it was that one time. Someone very important was there, someone very important to me, and I went to visit him even when he got stuck there, but then one night while I was there with him, he said he wasn't going to get better. It hurt, he said, he said it hurt so much, that he wanted it to end, he told me to end it, he begged me, Urotsuki do it do it do it..

[ Her eyes glaze over, like she's caught in the memory of it all, her voice slowly turning more and more pained ]

[His head tilts just a little more as he realizes that Urotsuki isn't really talking to him so much as pouring out her thought, but he remains quietly intrigued.]

Do it... Do it? [His lips purse in thought, and then he frowns.]

You were begged to deal with someone's weakness.

He wanted to die.

[ As if she doesn't get his wording on the matter - like she thinks she has to clarify. ]

He wanted me to kill him. But.. I... .. I couldn't do it.

[...]

It was idiotic of him to tell you to do such a thing.

[Not that it would change the situation, but he had to voice his opinion.]

[ For a moment she's quiet, her eyelids lowered so much that her eyes almost look like they're closed. Then she slowly speaks up though. ]

"Idiotic"..?

Idiotic.

[Archer repeats it with a nod, his attention focused on Urotsuki.]

In his desperation, in his madness, he threw away any care he had for you and thought only of ending his own pain.

[It's a remarkably somber response, coming from him.]

But.. he was hurting. And he wanted the person he liked the most to make it stop for him, since he trusted.. me.

[ That's what she thinks about it in her head, at least. And what she's relived so many times in her dreams. ]

That's why I always thought I should just have done it back there..

[How to phrase this in a way that a child would understand...]

Do you think he would not have asked anyone else if they were available? If he asked you to kill him -- you, who you say he liked the most -- he was not going to keep living for anyone else.

...

If.. he wanted someone else to do it, he would've asked them..

[ But the problem with it is already in what he's saying. If they were available. But it was night and late and even the night nurse was probably taking a break.

She was the only one there.

Maybe she's realising that. Slowly. ]

[He doesn't know the context. In a way, he doesn't need to know; he's already reached a conclusion in that way that he usually did. He's already decided this guy did something idiotic.

Urotsuki's phrasing allows him to ask the next question.]

Was there someone else with you?

[ Slowly she shakes her head. ]

No one. It was just.. me. [ Like usually. Except he was still there back then. ]

[He turns around Urotsuki's earlier words.]

If he wanted someone else to do it, they were not available to ask. Desperate, he turned to ask you for death.

So.. [ ... the word hangs in the air for a few moments, like she's trying to decide what exactly this means, trying to draw a conclusion from it. But it's all so personal and difficult to understand that she just turns to him again. ]

.. what does it mean..?

He asked you for death because you were the only one there. Not because you were the person he "liked the most."

[There's a little pause as he considers his own words.]

It would be better to say he begged for death.

.. He just.. wanted to die.

[ There's something weirdly hollow in her tone rather than just the usual light blankness as she puts it that way. He just wanted to die. He didn't want her to do it or anything, he didn't want to be killed by her -- he just wanted to be killed.

Even to the person who meant the most to her.. she meant nothing at all. ]

... Haha..

[ She normally already doesn't laugh, so it sounds awkward to begin with, but this one sounds fake no matter what. ]

[He frowns at that laughter, tilting his head to watch Urotsuki as she seems to struggle with herself. After a moment, he reaches his hand to her hair, tousling it a little.]

That is why I said his decision was idiotic. You should not think too much about how you could not end his life.

That's not the problem then.. [ He convinced her of that much by now, at least. It's not a problem that she couldn't kill him since he didn't want her to kill him either way. But that brings a whole new problem. ]

It's just.. it means that I meant nothing to him in the end. When it came down to it. [ She looks up at Archer at least thought when she can feel that hand, but it's hard to place the expression on her face. ] Even though.. I loved him that much..

The threat of death makes people do very foolish things.

[It's a weird moment of empathy, coming from him -- but he's enjoyed this peculiar little girl, for all of her moments of enthusiasm and oddness.]

Things that they would not otherwise do. Do you understand that?

[ A nod. As if she wouldn't immediately accept it the moment she hears it from him. The moment he says it, it becomes a fact - people do things they would normally not do when they're threatened. ]

.. So could you make people pay attention to you or like you if they normally don't by threatening to kill them..?

[He laughs dryly for a moment, then lightly raps her on the head with his knuckles.]

What a ridiculous question. You could make them pay attention to you, but no one will like you for threatening to kill them.
