3rd Call - Reunion with Enoch (Backdated to September 30th)

Characters: Enoch[personal profile] warriorscribe , Zett[personal profile] scentofmakai and Lucifel[personal profile] brbtalkingtogod
Setting: September 30th,beginning at Room 3-18, eventually getting to the Sauna changing rooms
Format: Starting as prose then going with whichever works out best.
Summary: Zett and Lucifel planned on scolding Enoch once the way to the way to the dormitory is free. But there's a change of plans as soon as they get to him.
Warnings: The usual Tower angst.

It had been a long and a physically, as well as mentally, exhausting week for all of them. While Lucifel had only been moving debris on the first day the job he did for Riki, which had been taking pictures of the destruction the explosion caused almost twenty-four hours the side-effects of not sleeping and using the camera had taken its toll on him for the rest of the week. Dark circles under his eyes indicated that he had little to no sleep for the whole week, hadn't it been for Zett's company and the talk with Zelda then he would have questioned his sanity. To the surprise of some, during the whole week the Archangel had cared so little for his appearance which he was proud of - that his hair was not in their usual spiked form but flatly falling down his head.

However, Zett and he had agreed that they would get Enoch together and give him a good scolding for that selfless stunt of his. They had assumed that the scribe had probably decided to help someone escape and this ending up trapped. Most of all they were simply worried, but someone had to talk some sense into that guy, right? Which was why they were heading straight to the dormitory floors to look for him, eventually standing in front of the scribe's room.

Zett didn't hesitate before knocking on the door. "Uncle Enoch, are you in here?"

If he wasn't, that would make scolding him a lot harder. They'd have to search for him and it'd take way too long.

There's no reply, and no sound of movement from within. Any sort of soul-sensing, though, would reveal he is definitely inside.

"It's polite even if they've been dumb lately," Zett huffed, following Lucifel inside.

He hadn't been able to move. He'd tried to speak, but his whispers were lost as the others' argument grew beyond that. And then the lights had exploded.

And then they'd been killed. As their bodies crunched and squished against the door, Enoch tried to scream but it came out a hoarse croak in his dry throat, barely audible at all and certainly not loud enough to draw notice. In the dark room that now smelled of blood, Enoch curled up and waited. He was too afraid to look for any of the supplies in the dark, knowing that so much as accidentally hitting a trunk's corner would spell death. Dizzy from hunger and thirst, he didn't risk it.

Without light or other people, with only Eleven's constant screaming for company, he had no idea how long he'd waited. All he knew was he couldn't make noise, he couldn't even try.

Riki's voice made him flinch in his dehydrated confusion; he didn't dare raise his head.

Lucifel and Zett would find him curled up in bed, his hands clutching his head. He reeked of sweat and urine. He was shivering from the effects of fasting; he spent two days with a human constitution and those two days were enough to be felt as far as the supplies went. If the power loss had gone on any longer, he would be very close to death.

He didn't seem to realize everything was back to normal. At the sound of their voices in the room, he twisted to look at them in pleading panic - don't, don't you know you'll die? There was dried blood all over his face, having run from scratch wounds healed and reddened; he hadn't even tried to wipe the blood away when the wounds were created, clearly.

He stared between the two, wild-eyed and confused.

Definitely no scolding right now. Zett almost felt bad for planning on it.

Zett sat next to the two on the bed, resting a hand on Enoch's shoulder gently.

"Uncle Enoch, it's okay, you can come out now. Everything's back to normal."

Enoch leaned tiredly into the hug, instinctively seeking the company. Even with the room fatigue remedied, he was still suffering from lack of food and water, and oversleeping only intensified his drowsiness. Between hunger and dehydration and Eleven his head was pounding.

But the fog was slowly starting to clear just a little bit, and he uncurled a bit, haltingly and wincing in pain as his cramped muscles protested the movement. He buried his face against Lucifel's shoulder.

He wasn't talking, but at least he didn't seem worried it would mean death. From the sanctuary that shielded him from the too-bright lights, he raised his head just enough to glance at Zett from the corner of his eye.

It would be so easy to go back to sleep again. Get away from the screaming and the discomfort. But Lucifel was here now. And Zett.

Zett joined them in the hug without more prompting. Gross smell be damned for the moment.

"We can get you food, or some water..."

Enoch nodded against Lucifel's shoulder. Food and water. Those sounded better than more sleep. Not nearly better enough considering sleep was the only way to escape this screaming and less of both meant more sleep. But his mind was foggy, his head ached, his muscles were cramped, and he couldn't stop shaking.

He tries to speak, his voice coming out hoarse. "Too dark...to find anything."

"Do you want me to bring you up some food, and you stay with Lucifel, or do you want to come down to the cafeteria with us?"

Lucifel being with him was the most important part - he was the best one to comfort Enoch after whatever traumatic experiences he'd been through.

Logically, he knew he should try to wake himself up. Blearily, he blinked, and looked up at Lucifel. He'd do whatever the angel wanted to do. ...Oh, but he looked so tired, too. He raised a hand to touch beneath the dark circles under those usually so sharp eyes of his, now showing fatigue. They'd all been through trials, he knew, even if he didn't know what happened to the people who had fled downstairs.

He wrapped an arm around each of them, finally hugging them back. "Either."

He had no way of knowing, of course, that it was evening, that it would be rather difficult to actually eat in the cafeteria.

"Together works for me. Just as long as we don't leave Uncle Enoch alone for a while."

But first they'd have to stop hugging him, which Zett didn't really want to do.
warriorscribe: (Intimidated)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-07 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
He hugged them both tighter at that. Yes, please don't leave him alone again. He doesn't know how long he was trapped in that room by himself but he doesn't want that to happen again.

"Better than a long walk."

Or the elevator. Zett's not familiar with all of Lucifel's powers, but sure, teleportation, why not.

Lucifel should be able to snap the fingers of his left hand easily, but just in case, Enoch loosens his hold a little. He doesn't want to get in Lucifel's way, of course.

Yeah, he could fly, but he couldn't fly with either of them (easily).

Zett slowly untangled himself from the hug. "I'll get you some food and drink, you don't have to go anywhere," he assured Enoch, before scurrying towards the kitchen to pick up whatever was available.
warriorscribe: (Fatigued)

Hope you guys don't mind an easily-escaped monster encounter!

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-08 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
It was evening; the lights were dim. Enoch looked at the cafeteria, wary of the Komory Wow that fluttered around. Zett would find a Chocobo wandering the kitchen; harmless but still a reminder that monsters were starting to show up more often.

Against the far wall, something in a gas mask lurked in the shadows, attached to the wall. Plaintive cries of "Mommy? Mommy?" came faintly from its direction.

Some cucumber salad - steak would be too heavy on his stomach after days of not eating - and some nice tea sounded good. Zett gathered the food as quickly as he could, then returned to the others, trying not to spill any of the tea on his tray.

"A light meal for you right now. You'll get sick if you have too much at once."

Zett glanced over at the direction of the cries and then turned back to his family. "Right?"
warriorscribe: (It'll be fine...won't it?)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-08 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Enoch wanted to grab that tea right off the tray as soon as he saw it. But no sooner had the thought come into his mind than Lucifel's phone began to ring, inexplicably.

Enoch's eyes darted to Lucifel. "What...?"

The outline of the gas mask in the shadows moved, coming down the wall.

"Whatever a splatter movie is I don't want to see a good one," Zett grumbled, setting the tray on a bench in front of Enoch. "Your phone doesn't suddenly work, does it?"
warriorscribe: (Oh but...)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-09 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Enoch might have said something about wanting to know what a 'splatter movie' was, but he had his mouth full more or less immediately.

Lucifel's phone continued to ring for a moment more, and then stopped.

Zett sighed and sat down next to Enoch. It had been a tiring week for them, and now that he knew Enoch was alright, it seemed like all the energy that had kept him moving rubble and fighting monsters was gone.

"Let me know if there's anything to scare away," he mumbled, closing his eyes.
warriorscribe: (Uncertain)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-10 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
"You're going to sleep in here?" Enoch asked between bites. His shaking had calmed.

He was also finished with everything on the tray already.
scentofmakai: (Pseudopomyzidae)

just skip my turn until something comes up!

[personal profile] scentofmakai 2013-10-10 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Zett was already drifting off, but he smiled when Lucifel patted his head.

*Enoch looks down at Zett as Lucifel spoke, his gaze following him to his other side.*

How long was it?
warriorscribe: (Seed of turmoil)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-11 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
An entire week? Yeah, that was about right from the amount of time they guessed had passed.

Enoch wonders if he should even bother changing. He could wash his jeans separately but...no, they'd just be uncomfortably heavy. He gets up and wanders over to his locker, and in his worn-down state, jumps when he sees the severed hand left there, having forgotten he'd kept it. Thankfully, it hasn't rotted at all.
warriorscribe: (It'll be fine...won't it?)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-12 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"I, ah..." Yeah, he remembers why that's there now. He seems sheepish as he bends to take his sandals off.

"It's nothing."
warriorscribe: (Intimidated)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-13 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh good, Lucifel hadn't gotten up to come see it. Enoch didn't know what he'd do if he saw he'd kept it. He knew he wasn't okay. But he doesn't want Lucifel to doubt his ability, still. So he'll just...finish undressing and close his locker. Hopefully before Lucifel sees what he's hiding in there.
warriorscribe: (It'll be fine...won't it?)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-14 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Enoch found the towels eventually and wrapped one around his waist, looking curiously at Lucifel. Was he coming too?
warriorscribe: (Nervous smile)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-15 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Enoch smiles at him as he returns.

"It's...it feels so strange."
warriorscribe: (Dawn)

[personal profile] warriorscribe 2013-10-16 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
"That it's...over." Rather than go on ahead, Enoch lingered to wait for Lucifel to be ready.
