Setting: Floors 1, 2, 30, and 74 in the day, and the rest of the tower at night
Format: Starting actionspam, will change to match!
Summary: Zett is searching for monster weapons. This means doing a lot of killing, which he also enjoys.
Warnings: Zett is mildly off his rocker and, while he isn't likely to attack people unless provoked, is certainly willing to talk abut creepy things.

[During the day, constant nighttime floors (74 or 30 mainly) - during the night, almost any floor]

[Real weapons. Real weapons were useful. Real weapons could be found off monsters, and that meant killing a lot of monsters.

Killing monsters, Zett could do.

Lightning and dark magic and claws were second nature to Zett, so much so that even as maddened as he would admit he currently was, he could take down most monsters of the tower.

Not all - he might have been cackling as he took down a weaker enemy, but he was still in control of himself enough to run from something beyond his skill level. He was fast and could outrun most enemies if it came to that. He'd even stop giggling while he ran.

Other monsters weren't so lucky. Zett wanted something to die and die painfully, and Ruana wasn't available, so he took the next best option.

He probably wouldn't attack tower residents. Probably.]

[Floor 1, daytime]

[Zett still needed to eat, of course. He could be caught devouring hearty meals of whatever pumpkin-flavored item was available. The more he ate at once, the longer he could go before having to return to this floor.]

[Floor 2, daytime]

[Occasionally, Zett would get injured like anybody else spending a lot of time fighting. In that case, he returned to the infirmary and bandaged himself up... still giggling a little from the fight..]

You don't act like a monster.

Oh...? [She sounds a little amused by that.] And how do you think a monster acts?

Well, if we mean the monsters here, then if you'd been acting like that you would have tried to bite me by now.

Well, then I must not mean something as limited as that, huh?

Those are the only monsters I know. There's demons, but I don't think of myself as a 'monster'.

In my heyday, I was one of the most feared youkai in Japan. [Bragging? No, of course not. ~~She's totally bragging.~~] People feared me, and I terrorized them. Why shouldn't I think of myself as a monster?

That doesn't make you a monster. That makes you a powerful jerk.

[...puff]

How can that make me a jerk when it's the natural order of things? A predator isn't a jerk for eating a prey animal.

That's just because their prey aren't smart enough to call them that. The strong do prey on the weak, but the weak don't have to feel happy about it, and they can fight back as hard as they can.

Of course. [She doesn't dispute that.] It's natural for youkai to prey on humans, and it's natural for humans to try to exterminate us in return. But because of that, it's natural for youkai to hate humans, too. Get it?

I get it. It's natural for you to do those things, so you can't be a monster.

After all, among humans, 'monsters' are the ones that kill for no reason, or for reasons that aren't justified like anger or pleasure. That's not natural.

[She cocks her head, the movement sharp and quick, and the ends of her pointed ears lower slightly before perking back up.]

But I'm not a human, and humans are the ones who decided that's what we are.

When I called you a jerk, you disagreed. But you'd let other people decide you're a monster?

[Hm... She has to stop and think how to explain herself. It isn't something she's unsure of, precisely; it's just that putting it into words is another matter entirely.]

I decided that if humans were going to call me that regardless, I wanted to make the name my own. That's all.

Huh. Well, that's fair. [It makes sense to him, so he lets the matter drop.]

Can I ask a question about something else?

...Hm? What is it?

You started off looking like a ball of light, and then when you told me your name you looked more like a nue from my world. How do you do that?

[She's still cute though.]

[...huehue]

Ah, but I have to have some secrets, don't I? My domain is the unknown!

But I really want to know! [Zett almost considers asking pretty please for it, but does not.] Fine, I guess you have a point.

[She laughs. Her tone is a little mischievous when she tells him:]

If you want to try to figure it out on your own, I won't stop you, but that's as much as I can give you. Sorry~.

[Then, somewhat more seriously:]

Hey, can I ask you something now?

Sure. It's only fair.

[Zett generally plays fair.]

Are there a lot of nue where you come from? I'm the only one like me that I've ever known.

There are some, yeah. They're pretty common in some areas and in other places you can find hardly any.

You don't know any others like you? That must be kind of lonely.

[She shrugs a shoulder.]

It doesn't bother me. That's how it's always been.

[Can't miss what you never had, even if it's interesting to think about.]

Well, if a nue from my world comes here, I'll introduce you to each other.
