Got a gift from a friend
Characters: Veronica and whoever
Setting: Room 1-17, anywhere else
Format: action brackets, will follow
Summary: Veronica discovers her first regain
Warnings: Usual tower warnings
Room 1-17
[The thing about being trapped in your room for five days was that you had to go back eventually. Veronica hadn't seen any odd things in the room since being freed, but still that was just another reason to stay away.
But here Veronica was, back in the dorms once again, sitting on her new bed. At the very least, the room had been fixed and all the debris had been cleared away. Having been struck with a thought, she hurried to her trunk to check if everything was still there.
She flipped the lid and peered inside. Everything seemed to be intact, the grenades were still there, the first aid pack was still full, and the necklace was....
Veronica froze. Reaching down with shaky hands, she lifted the necklace out of the trunk, handling it as delicately as humanly possible. It was a crystal fluorite necklace, simple in design but quite pretty. She just... sat there, holding it in her hands, staring down at it with a mixture of confusion and despair.
How could it be here? It had been destroyed.
Veronica shook violently, holding it close.]
Elsewhere
[Eventually, Veronica decided she needed air. So, with necklace in her pocket, Veronica wandered off into the tower. What the Frankenstein girl might be doing will vary from floor to floor, but in general she'll be acting very distracted and depressed. Every so often she'll stop and reach into her pocket, seemingly checking for something before continuing on.]

O-oh, hello.
....[Slowly, she nodded.] Y-yeah, you could say that.

[Irisviel spoke with the authority and grace of a woman and mother of some years as she maintained eye contact with Veronica. She wanted to help, even if she didn't know how just yet.]
no subject
I... I suppose that could help.

Alright, to your room then.

After opening the door, Irisviel enters the room and takes a seat on her bed. She then waves for Veronica to enter and make herself at home.]
Feel free to make yourself comfortable, I imagine this may take a little while.

I'm not sure where to begin...
...There was a new thing in my trunk today. It w-wasn't there before...

[Which... might not be true. She was unsure.]
The item is one I had from back home but... it was destroyed back home. B-but it's fixed now.

[No any more strange then anything else she had experienced in the tower, but strange nonetheless.]
Do you know anyone who would have the power to do something like that?
no subject
No, I-I don't think so...
It's really what I got that's the problem though.

It was a gift from a friend of mine back home.
[She takes a moment to breath. Her body was shaking.]
She died.

All the homunculus could do was offer a reassuring smile and a few words.]
That was rather cruel of whom ever gave you such a gift to force you to think about such painful things again.
But I also think your friend would be happy to know that you remember her and keep that gift with you even in a place like this.

She nodded though, and finally remembered something to say.]
Y-your right. She w-would be happy to know that the gift was unbroken. And I-I promise to keep it safe here.
...But I w-wonder who would do this...
