Aaaand... a nice little catch-all for you guys. And a cheagle.

Characters: Luke fon Fabre ([personal profile] desireforchange, Ganta Igarashi/Woodpecker ([personal profile] woodpeckermaruta, Hagire Rinichiro, and whoever!
Setting: Luke: His room (2-12), then where ever!
Ganta: His room (2-10), where ever, then the Meadow/25th floor [CLOSED TO HAGIRE AND SHIRO/WRETCHED EGG (because she can totally pop in if she likes)]
Format: Will match.
Summary: Luke: Discovers his latest gift from the Tower that really happens not long after the event but mun fails so let's just all go along with it (spoilers: it's a green cheagle), attempts to name it, but fails on his own. Seriously, somebody should probably help.
Ganta: He, too, discovers his latest gift from the Tower. After that, he's sort of hanging around, for a while, until he ends up on the meadow floor, where Hagire shows up.
Warnings: Violent words. Maybe just violence in general. WHO KNOWS. I will update as it goes.

He hadn't heard the noise until several minutes of being in his room...

Blinking a couple of times, he moves over to the source, finding himself looking down at the trunk at the foot of his bed. It sounded like something attempting to get out. Which is weird, because there hadn't been anything in there that should be able to so much as move, ...right? The redhead furrows his brow and slowly reaches down. As he eases the lid of it open...

...out leaps a tiny green ball of fur and fluffy ears, nearly giving Luke a heart attack when it clings to his face. What... the hell...?

His question of what the creature is gets answered fairly quickly, at least. The familiar shrill cry of 'miiiiieu' that it emits as Luke pries it off even earns a startled blink. His brow furrows as he holds it creature out to look at it. The thing looks... a little more than terrified, which causes the replica's expression to soften just a bit. He does remember Riki mentioning 'something from home', but he never would have thought that would apply to living things... otherwise, he might have checked his trunk a lot sooner.

"How the hell did you even get in there?"

Of course the thing can't talk back, so it settles on giving Luke another pitiful expression--its eyes widening as its head tilts just a bit. It almost looks to be saying 'I have no idea, but I'm very glad you found me before I suffocated, kind sir'. (Okay, maybe not quite all that, but Luke's going to go with it, anyway?)

Letting out a sigh, he sets the animal down on the bed and put a hand to his chin. Seriously, what now?

Okay, so... he has this cheagle that's sort of clingy which is a little annoying, to be honest. Scratching at the side of his head, he makes his way down the hall. He has no idea what to even do with this little guy, but it seems to be fairly content with just... sitting there, ...on his shoulder, clinging to the collar of his shirt.

Well... why not? Luke won't complain, actually, considering it's kind of nice to see something from "home". The green fur ball suddenly makes a squeaky noise as it nearly fell off, causing Luke to blink. Reaching up, he sighs and offers a hand for creature to lean against.

Now... for a name...

And............. he's got nothing!

He hasn't looked in his trunk since he arrived, but he had heard that there's supposedly something new from home inside. Curiosity got the better of him and he found himself peaking inside. ...Oh.

Okay.

It's nothing too terribly special, but he'll definitely take it. Special, or not, it's something useful. Who doesn't need more clothes? Even if it is a prison jumpsuit, he's fine with that. Shrugging, he moves back to his bed and flops down backwards onto it. His thoughts begin to wander, big time. First, to Daress and Ishtar. Seriously, how are they? Were they hurt?

Then to that angry guy with the ears. He wonders if he got out, okay.

... Then to Shiro. With a huff, he sits up and finds himself leaving the room. He feels a strong urge to explore.

Even days later the mun can' specify, since there's really not a definite time period going on here, he's idly walking throughout the hallways. He's changed into said 'gift', since his other clothes need to be washed. Actually, these clothes are somehow more comfortable, anyway...

The black-haired teenager doesn't really have a destination in mind, just yet. He's just walking. Maybe he'll find something to do, at some point; but, for now, he's content strolling in and out some of the floors. Maybe you'll catch him in the lounge... maybe the cafeteria... or maybe even on that one floor with the dolls?

Seriously, who the hell knows?

[25/Meadow-CLOSED TO HAGIRE]

Well, either way, Ganta ends up on the Meadow Floor, somehow. Deciding to take a break, for now, he plops down and lets out a sigh. Drawing in his knees, he leans forward and finds himself staring at the ground. Now he realizes why he's been so adamant to continue moving, like that. The second he's not... his mind wanders; and, where it wanders to...

... is her.

Shiro. Or rather... Wretched Egg. Damn it, not this. What the hell is he supposed to do, exactly? He can't kill her. Even if he could, it's not like she would stay dead. Damn it, just stop thinking about her. Just for now, at least. Just until he's able to figure out an answer. He's not even on their planet anymore. This isn't even their home. Things are way too different here, and ...

... Damn it, nothing makes sense. This is too confusing.

With that, he lets his head drop onto his knees, a frustrated yell escaping.

True, it takes something as drastic as a memory-forcing-upon to get him to remember the incident at the lab. Unfortunately, Ganta will likely never remember it, first-hand. He'll only know of it. Maybe. Amnesia is funny like that. Incidentally, it could take him seeing something, hearing something... to remember it. It seems that Hagire--as it turns out--telling him about it, isn't going to be enough. For the fourteen-year-old, it's like nothing more than hearing a terrible story. Very terrible, in fact. So terrible, it leaves him clenching his fists at his side. All of it is a lot to take in; and, Ganta can feel his temper surge more at each and every word. This bastard... just...

... And, just like that, he wants to punch him even more. Actually, punching sort of seems far from good enough, now. Hagire's blood moving also serves to put him even more on edge--on guard. As soon as he had seen it, he had bitten into his thumb. He's seen what this guy can do. Realistically, he's pretty sure he could never beat him in a one-on-one match. Especially after hearing the part about Toto Sakagami being undefeated, and all. His heart and breathing rates escalate as he, momentarily, focuses on one particular part of what Hagire had said. His mother had helped. Had assisted in the creating of Wretched Egg. He had grown up in that laboratory, and... how strong Shiro had been...

...jumping from windows like it was nothing... it all just adds up so well... too well.

Ganta feels pretty stupid, honestly. And almost at fault, here. His own mother had helped make everything into what it is. ...Was--everything from back home is apparently no more, after all.

Also, it seems all of what Hagire says has a trend of resulting in him feeling awful. Making Ganta feel bad must be this guy's hobby for whenever they're together, or something. Ganta feels even worse than he did back in the cavern. Even more guilty than he had, earlier. Clenching his teeth more firmly together, his glare turns even sharper. He narrows his eyes at the Deadman in front of him as he finally speaks.

"You... sick.... bastard..." No matter how guilty Ganta feels, he knows, now, everything happened because of this guy, "Just what kind of twisted fantasy are you living in, huh?? Making a place like that... Only a sick and twisted person would do something like that!" It's also completely illogical to think someone would do it for that reason, "And those ...experiments. What kind are you talking?! If they killed people, they must have been awful, right?!"

Also, it should be noted: "Your definition of 'love' is completely fucked up, too! The person you did all of those terrible things to... And then you wanted to become her...?"

The part about Hagire taking people's bodies, though...he wants to ask about that. But, more importantly, is the part about giving him memories... There are way too many questions in his mind, right now. To top it off, he wants to ask about his mother, but... he knows this guy would probably only tell him terrible things about her. To follow the trend, perhaps?

"And just what the hell do you mean by 'give' me your memories?! How is something like that even possible?" That's isn't possible, right?

Even thinking it could be seems to defy all logic and reason.

Ahh, yes, there were those eyes he loved so much. That feeling of despair and helplessness from Ganta that he had fostered so many times in Deadman Wonderland, from the very moment he was mere seconds away from killing that red-haired Forgery, from what Wretched Egg showed him her severed head, when he effortlessly defeated Senji and forced Ganta to surrender before he killed Crow... it was all so delicious. And now, he gets to relive it all over again.

"Me? A fantasy? Aha~! ✩" he laughed, hopping down off the railing, and clapping his hands. His blood remained perfectly in place, despite the motion. "Woodpecker, reality is so much more irrational than even the weirdest fiction. I mean, look where we are. We were saved from our world's destruction and thrown right back into hell, collars and all. Why would they love the three of us so much to spare us instead of anyone else?"

Killed people? "Ganta, really, Tamaki might have been my employee, but he was still playing his stupid video games. I could care less about the other Deadmen. I just wanted them at arm's reach for my real goal." Which, at this point, should be obvious. "I'm sure Sorae had some kind of significance in making yours the one Branch of Sin this body couldn't completely copy. After all, it's the only one I'm missing to completely turn off the Mother Goose System. But then, just when I almost had it, I end up here, with you, and with Shiro. Funny how that works, right?"

Hagire folds his hands in front of him, glancing up at a corner of the wall. "The Wretched Egg got bored again here, about four months before you showed up. And just like always, when she gets bored, she wants someone to play with her. Only, she wasn't used to having access to her full powers. She nearly killed me, and destroyed almost an entire floor of the Tower, while infecting several of the people here with the Branch of Sin. The Administrators didn't like that. This is their lab, not mine. And so, once again, she's hearing the Lullaby, only it lacks Sorae's special touch. The Wretched Egg isn't completely suppressed. Which side of Shiro you get really depends on luck, now! ✩"

He giggles, like a small child. "You know there's one thing I didn't consider. The Wretched Egg can voluntarily let Shiro back out. Just because she's the stronger personality doesn't mean Shiro can't come out sometimes..." he trailed off, smiling, as if what they were talking about was just the best thing ever. He's so detached from Ganta's rage, that it might even seem mocking. "Hmm?" He asked, turning back to Ganta. Oh, right, they were having a conversation, weren't they?

"There's more than one type of Branch of Sin, you know," he continued. "My other adopted children - also albinos, interestingly enough - were twins in a similar medical research center. Conjoined twins, actually. They were connected at the brain, and it took a lifesaving surgery to separate them. Normally, that has a very good chance of killing somebody, but they were lucky. They received a Branch of Sin which allowed their minds to connect with anything around them - computers, other peoples' minds, you name it. I adopted them, and replaced their missing halves of their brains with a type of computer, which allowed them to live, but only with a single mind. Instead of sending them to G Block, where they would have been named 'Swallow,' they served as my personal bodyguards and servants, and the ones who went to retrieve the Wretched Egg when she got... er... playful. And best of all?" he pauses, clapping his hands. "They were how I was able to steal the bodies of other Deadmen. They used their Branches of Sin to connect my mind and the minds of both Albatross and Mockingbird to a computer, and rewrote the other person's memories with my own."

He leans forward a bit, grinning ear to ear. "Guess who was gonna be body number four? ✩"
