Characters: Zett and you!
Setting: Floor 61, then the dormitory floors
Format: Starting actionspam, will change to match!
Summary: Zett gathers and eats mushrooms for science. He's also willing to share.
Warnings: Hallucinogenic drugs!
[Floor 61]
["Many mushrooms grow on this floor. It is unknown if they are edible or not."
That was what the guide to the tower said, and Zett was just bored enough to decide to make a helpful contribution. Perhaps they would kill him unpleasantly, but his death would help people in the future to not die. Perhaps they would be incredibly tasty and a good source of food during Jason months. It was hard to tell, with the tower.
Careful to avoid all the pits on this floor, Zett gathers up as many mushrooms as he can. Just one wouldn't be enough to know for sure how dangerous these mushrooms were - if the first one didn't kill him, he'd have to test another.
Zett isn't actually going to eat on this floor (too dangerous with the pits around), so other residents will just encounter him picking mushrooms and gathering them in a box.]
[Dormitory Floors]
[When Zett gets back to the dorm floors, it's finally time to test the mushrooms for deadliness. Setting the box on the ground, Zett picks up one mushroom and munches on it.
It's delicious. Zett finishes it quickly and waits for any side effects.
Gradually he notices that his vision is going a little... weird. Colors are changing. The doors are starting to morph into shapes that clearly wouldn't fit a person through them, unless they were a very strangely formed person. He feels kind of... melty.
Huh.
Zett picks up his box of mushrooms and walks around the dormitories, occasionally stumbling as the ground doesn't feel right. When he spots other people, he'll smile and wave and tell them something like,] Did you know you're leaving a trail of light behind you? [After a moment, he'll add.] That could be the mushrooms, though.

Oh for goodness sakes... Mushrooms? Mushrooms? [Then she paused. Her curiosity was piqued.] ...where did you get mushrooms? [Hallucinogenic mushrooms might be useful.]

How many different kinds are there? Or are there only the one kind? How long ago did you pick them? Would you let me see them? I'm... I'm a... researcher of sorts.
no subject
[Zett holds out the box to her; they seem to be all the same kind of mushroom.] I finished picking them about twenty minutes ago.
no subject
[Then she picked one up out of the box.] Ah... may I? [A proper researcher ought to know just what kind of hallucinations they caused, yes?]
no subject
[Zett has every intention of staying shut in his room the whole night or until this wears off.]

[And down the hatch it went! She chewed it, swallowed it, and seemed generally unmoved.]
The texture's nice. It's not bitter. I wonder how fast-acting the... [And then her head gave a little tilt as she stared past Zett, down the hall.] ...oh. The doors are wiggling about. That's... that's impressive. I usually take a while to absorb things like that....
no subject
Is it that fast? I don't usually eat this kind of thing.
no subject
Very fast! The hallucinogenic compounds in these mushrooms must be very potent, and easily absorbed through the mouth... possibly crushing or compressing the mushroom releases the active properties, which is why they can be handled safely, but... but...
[And she spins herself about suddenly, looking this way and that, suddenly just as recklessly excited as Zett.] We need to find another volunteer! I need to take notes!

[Zett starts off in one direction and nearly trips, managing not to spill the box of mushrooms. Still grinning.] I forgot my legs feel weird, aha.
Maybe we can get someone to threadjack? :D
[She also stumbles, tries to steady herself by placing a hand on the wall, and then jerks it away with a bit of a yelp.] Aaah, and now the wall is melting... [She reaches out to touch it again, marvels at its sudden liquidity, and stops following along.] Visual and tactile hallucinations in concert, fascinating...
