001;

Characters: Shirou Emiya and you
Setting: Room 01-12, Dorm Floors, Floor 1, Open
Format: Actionspam
Summary: Waking up and exploring.
Warnings: Dumbness, SHOUNEN etc.

[Room 01-12]
[He had been reading the letter. Well, to be exact, reading and re-reading it. Were it not for the fact that he was attuned to Weird Shits™, he might've had a worse freakout compared to his current silent reaction. Those who were in his room when would notice that the first thing he did after his sleep paralysis disappeared was to check the trunk he was provided with. Or he could've conversed with you, but either ways that was how he got to reading his letter.]

...This, isn't a joke, is it...?

[Unfortunately, you are now saddled with the task of explaining things to him, or don't. It's all up to you.]

[Dorm Floors]
[That mess in his room over and done with, Shirou now takes to exploring the tower, or at least, the area he could reach without getting lost. Which is why he's now around the dorm area, looking apprehensive at everything around him and still having a confused look on his face. If you happen to run into him here, don't be surprised if he starts asking questions at you. Or...]

...Oh, er, sorry, I wasn't looking back there.

[He might've just bumped into you.]

[Floor 1]
[Like any other new residents, Shirou was forced to eat that... thing everyone dreads eating the first time around. Though, he's done with it surprisingly quick as after finishing it, the first thing he does is to hit the kitchen. Those around the area would find him coming out later with whatever meal that could be cooked with this week's ingredients, and him eating it. While he doesn't grumble, you can definitely hear him saying something like-]

At the very least they could've given us something edible to start us off.

[Open]
{Want to meet him somewhere else? Just throw me a floor number and scenario and we're good to go!]

[ Then it isn't coincidence.

No. That is incorrect. It could still be, in its way. He's met Kariya Matou as a child, who somehow was inflicted with suffering he was meant to only witness as an adult, and Gilgamesh, summoned by another master than Tokiomi Tohsaka. The Tower pulls from all worlds, even distorting what one may think is true.
]

You lived there with Kiritsugu Emiya, didn't you?

You know me?

[ It is not any great stretch of the mind, he imagines, but how do they connect? Kirei sought out and studied as much information as he could about Kiritsugu Emiya, and there was no mention of a son. The boy does not even look like him, nor the Grail vessel that was his wife... ]

How?

[ There is too much he doesn't know. ]

[ That only further adds to his confusion. He steps a little closer, drawn forward by his curiosity. The Tower does have distorted version of other women and men, and changed history, but somehow this simply seems like he is missing an important connection. ]

I have no memory of meeting Kiritsugu Emiya. [ He admits this honestly. ] By your words, I assume he survived the War?

[ But then Kirei did as well, if the boy also knows him. How was that possible?

How did they not destroy each other?
]

[ Kirei's thoughts mess together as he tries to process this: how? Is this boy from another one of those distorted worlds or not? It is impossible to imagine a world where both Kirei Kotomine and Kiritsugu Emiya survived the fight for the Holy Grail... not only that, but Kirei somehow left Kiritsugu to his devices, to adopt a child and live out a few quiet years in Fuyuki City?

He does not understand.
]

Then what wish was granted, at the end of that War? Do you know?

[ Kirei accepts this without argument. He is, mostly, too consumed with his own conflicting thoughts. He could attempt to pressure the boy, but there is too much potential that his world is not the one Kirei knows; it would be a pointless endeavor to try forcing him. ]

I did not know if I would survive this war. [ Perhaps he should feel relieved, but a more pressing matter occupies his mind. ] Are you a magus then, Shirou Emiya?
