001;
Characters: Shirou Emiya and you
Setting: Room 01-12, Dorm Floors, Floor 1, Open
Format: Actionspam
Summary: Waking up and exploring.
Warnings: Dumbness, SHOUNEN etc.
[Room 01-12]
[He had been reading the letter. Well, to be exact, reading and re-reading it. Were it not for the fact that he was attuned to Weird Shits™, he might've had a worse freakout compared to his current silent reaction. Those who were in his room when would notice that the first thing he did after his sleep paralysis disappeared was to check the trunk he was provided with. Or he could've conversed with you, but either ways that was how he got to reading his letter.]
...This, isn't a joke, is it...?
[Unfortunately, you are now saddled with the task of explaining things to him, or don't. It's all up to you.]
[Dorm Floors]
[That mess in his room over and done with, Shirou now takes to exploring the tower, or at least, the area he could reach without getting lost. Which is why he's now around the dorm area, looking apprehensive at everything around him and still having a confused look on his face. If you happen to run into him here, don't be surprised if he starts asking questions at you. Or...]
...Oh, er, sorry, I wasn't looking back there.
[He might've just bumped into you.]
[Floor 1]
[Like any other new residents, Shirou was forced to eat that... thing everyone dreads eating the first time around. Though, he's done with it surprisingly quick as after finishing it, the first thing he does is to hit the kitchen. Those around the area would find him coming out later with whatever meal that could be cooked with this week's ingredients, and him eating it. While he doesn't grumble, you can definitely hear him saying something like-]
At the very least they could've given us something edible to start us off.
[Open]
{Want to meet him somewhere else? Just throw me a floor number and scenario and we're good to go!]

...............you do know the part where he endlessly chased after her right.
It could be attributed to mistaking one for another, but some part of him was certain (wanted it to be certain) that the person was another one saved. Someone that he tried to save and in the end came to terms with herself. Someone that's been with him through thick and thin in those hellish weeks.
Someone important to him.]
H-hey, wait!
[With that, he's going to actually try catching up to her.]
Yep! <3
Well, she'll have to tell him. Maybe if Avenger-as-Shirou was told it would annoy him enough to make the disguise stop working? No matter, the staircase was not the place for this discussion. So she exits the stairs on the third floor--the library--and dashes into the stacks in the hopes of finding a more private place to talk to him.
Naturally, she finally stops in the cooking session, her back to him as she steels herself for this conversation.]

...It's... you, isn't it?
[But how?]
no subject
[She turns to face him, accusations about Avenger dying on her lips when she looks at him and sees his collar is indigo. Naturally, she feels like a heel for running thinking it was Avenger.
This is Shirou. Not the Shirou she had beheaded--never the Shirou she had beheaded--but Shirou all the same.]
You just awoke here, did you not?
no subject
[Meeting a man that looked like him and spoke as if he knew him is one thing. Meeting Kirei when he was younger was another thing entirely.
In any case, he'd been through a hell of a day before he got here.]
no subject
She will not make the same mistake she did with Avenger and hide the truth from him over fear of his reaction.]
I apologize for my reaction, then. Things have been trying as of late. I myself have been here for a year.
[And yet, before she begins to explain herself, she needs to know something else:] What have you learned about this Tower so far?
no subject
[Enough to know that everyone from his world is dead, and that the others he's met are not from his own world.]
I'm not him, sorry about that.
[Her Shirou.]
no subject
You do not need to apologize. If anything, I should. It's been.... a very long time since I saw you alive. It was a shock to see you and I half-thought I was being tricked again.
[She turns on her heel and gestures for him to follow. Her stomach is already doing that odd flip she had whenever the subject came up, but Arturia was determined not to repeat her mistakes:]
Come, there is much to discuss. There are chairs up here where we can sit down and discuss things.
no subject
Right.
[He wanted to stop, offer her tea, but he realized it's quite a trip back down to the first floor, so he refrained from doing that.]
no subject
....could you tell me the last thing you remember before coming here?
[If she can figure out how their worlds are different, then it can give her a starting off point to work from in explaining herself.]
no subject
[And since him and Saber (not the one before him) separated after all that. He had been slowly adjusting back to normal life before well, everything happened and slammed onto him at the same time.]
no subject
Arturia steels herself and looks him dead in the eye.]
That's good. That's very good. In my world....
[Now or never.]
In my world, I killed you.
[Her voice is perfectly neutral as she says it, as if stating a fact, but even now there's a certain nervousness in her expression. No matter how many times she confesses to this, it never gets easier. Every time is just as painful as the last. The only that gets better is pushing through the pain to explain.
And explain her story, she does. Arturia glosses over the fact she and her Shirou had been lovers, but everything else about her Grail War? She tells him. Simply presents the facts to him for him to do with as he wished. By the time she got to Kotomine's deal and beheading Shirou, she looks so very tired. Like all she wished to do was curl up into a ball and go to sleep.]
no subject
It's scary to see how a minor difference could lead to such a bad situation in the first place, and seeing how tired she was when she got to the part where she brought her sword down—]
...Saber, if it's really bothering you, we can stop here.
[They can continue tomorrow, after all. He's not going to disappear on her, no sirree.]
no subject
[Even if all that is left is telling him of the killing blow. It's the truth, though. She fears she won't be able to tell him in the future.]
If you do not trust me after telling you this, or do not wish to be around me, I understand.
[Arturia tries to keep the regret out of her voice, but it bleeds through a bit when she mentions she would understand. Who would? She just admitted to killing someone she cared about in cold blood. Even if she suspects Shirou will still want to be around her, it would forever baffle her why he would want to considering she does not trust herself around him in the slightest.]
no subject
No, that's just wrong. Why would he feel glad that she killed him... Was it because that other him deserved it? He didn't even know him.]
I won't leave you, Saber.
[...The words came out of his mouth without even thinking.]
no subject
Arturia will just have to be more on guard to make sure she doesn't hurt the boy.]
All right. [Her expression changes from a gawk to one more serious.]
All right, then. I.... After I.... after I killed you....
[and then she tells him of after. Of accepting the Grail, of Camelot being drowned in its mud and her being forced to kill everyone and how it did not stop there. She did not go into too much detail about her time as a Counter Guardian beyond that, nor did she relate how she felt about it. Just the facts. That's all she intends to give him: the facts. Some part of her thinks she can stop this Shirou from becoming Archer if he has an idea of what his fate might be, but for now....
For now, she just needs to tell him her story, ending it with....]
....and then I woke up here and found I was able to move under my own power.
no subject
[...To be honest, he's... at a loss for words. To think that such a wish could cause a disaster that'd require her to kill off her own men, and while the concept of Counter Guardians were pretty much unknown, Shirou knew it wasn't exactly what Saber wanted out of everything at all.
So this is what would happen if he failed to turn her from her wish? A nightmare, indeed.]
I'm sorry, Saber, I didn't know—
[Didn't know what? Everything. This Saber is not the one he knows, and yet all the same he still felt pain as if he failed to save her.]
no subject
You are not at fault. I made my choices and my mistakes. I will not have you apologizing for things you had no part or say in.
no subject
[Was. No, he's not even him. Still, he can't help it, even if it's another him he still felt like he failed her.]
no subject
I made my choice, Shirou, and I accept the consequences of such a thing. [Even if it hurts.]
no subject
I guess. [he hated being useless, not being able to protect anyone in the end. an awkward silence took over him as he just felt bad about everything that happened up 'till this point.]
no subject
No doubt he would start trying to play hero here and, unlike Avenger, she had no idea if he would listen to her or not when she told him to keep to himself until she deemed him ready.]
Would you like me to continue your training?
no subject
[He doesn't know how busy she could actually be in this place, and really, he's better off not shaving more time from her if she has anything important that needs doing.]
no subject
I usually finish work on floor eighty at three in the afternoon on Monday through Friday. We can meet up then and I can train you until dinner if you like.
no subject
[...beat.]
I can make you dinner afterwards.
[Oh right, what should he say uh.]
I mean, you are taking some of your time to train me, so it's only normal for me to repay you, right?
(no subject)
