[The tower has been condensed to one room with pretty much nothing in it. This post? Do whatever in it. General reactions. Go. ...As for Ienzo, he's just kind of sitting in the corner, head in his hands.]

Mm... you could say that. The worlds are disconnected, yes. Very few people know how to or can pass between them. Most people don't even know there are other worlds.

[Interested! This is kind of... fascinating to him. The tower is really the first instance he's ever encountered of this whole... Other Worlds thing, so...!]

[WHOOPS awkward question to answer, and she hesitates, but there's no harm in answering, right? She doesn't really have the heart to not tell him when he looks interested, anyway, no pun intended.]

[...eh? He's not sure why she's hesitating or why she gave such a... noncommittal answer]

[Her lips press together just a bit.]

...Thank you. But-- it's okay. [She just... won't be giving any details.] The easiest way to explain it is that I... had to do some things for some people who knew about the worlds. [Not that she appears particularly pleased about that, since she looks kind of serious.]

[No, no he shouldn't. But he did, and, as much as it scares her to ponder what people would think of her if she told them everything, she's just too honest for her own good.]

[Not the things she did for the people she originally learned from. Technically, she did do good things for other people who knew about the worlds, but it just seems too dishonest to count that, since she already knew about everything at that point.]

[Well then. He's... not really sure how to take that??? She didn't really give him a lot to work with, but the idea of her doing bad things sort of... clashes with the Adorable Child image he's had of her so far. He's not sure he can believe her, even if his understanding of the world is that... most people have terrible terrible things in their life. Hmm... Then again, he's learned that humans work with a different standard of good then trolls do... so maybe...]

[She opens her mouth to say-- she's not even sure what, but she shuts it again. She looks as guilty as she feels, and her fingers lace tightly together, her arms pressing against her sides. It's so hard to say, but he asked. He asked, and she knows she shouldn't hide it from people. They have a right to know, and to make their own decisions about what to think of her with that information. She still doesn't want to tell anyone about her powers for their safety and everyone else's, but... as much as she wants to have friends, as much as she wants people to like her, she knows she has no right to lie to them or to try to make them believe she's a good person. She doesn't even really have a right to have friends, not when she has no heart to care for them back with.]

...They wanted me to--... to trick someone into thinking I was his old friend, so that they could use him to do bad things.

[Oh... Well... That's something. It's... certainly nothing like the Bad Things he's seen some people do. Or even the Bad Things he's done himself. Really the thing that gets to him is the idea that she'd trick someone into thinking she cared, more then whatever bad things she had him do...]

[Or... wait. 'They wanted me to' like she didn't actually...]

[This is clearly not something she's proud of. She can't even look at him, and when she finally answers, it's with her eyes squeezed shut.]

Yes. [She does not immediately try to make excuses for herself.]

[Hm... Alright. Remorse. Remorse is not exactly an emotion he's especially familiar with given his history, so seeing it here is... confusing. But also a relief. As much as he barely recognizes, he knows it means she's looking for forgiveness and forgiveness is something that he has in far larger quantities then most trolls. There is a kind of guarded sympathy in his eyes... Still not sure what to think but he's getting there]

Were they... forcing you...?

[She doesn't see the sympathy because she still finds it difficult to look at him. If she was standing, she'd probably turn away, but since she's seated, that's much harder. She settles for keeping her eyes on the ground, even as she nods. It seems an insufficicent explanation, so,]

... They told me that if I didn't, I'd be locked away in a castle forever. I'd been alone for so long that I-- I couldn't bear it anymore. [But that's such a poor excuse, and she knows it.] I was selfish.

[Nods. This is sort of what he expected, and he... understands in his own way. This is as reassuring as he will be. She clearly hasn't started to forgive herself, but that is a step she must take on her own even though (he well knows) that first step is quite hard. She has nothing to prove to him at least]

I have found... that people, under pressure. Often act in, ways they would not, normally.

[Her hands curl around each other a little more tightly, and despite herself she looks back up at him. She's... honestly surprised to not be castigated or reviled, but she's quick reprimand herself - he's seemed like such a nice guy so far, and from what she knows of nice guys, they don't get as upset or disgusted by what she's done as they have a right to. Ah, but perhaps it helps that he doesn't know the whole story, or how much damage she really did. Slowly, she nods.]

... Yes. They do. I didn't--... I never wanted to do that. [Even if she did, and it's not an excuse so much as an explanation.] I wanted to have a friend, but-- not that way.

[uprisings]

[Smiles faintly when she looks over at last. It's okay, kid. Really...]

Did you ever, reveal, yourself to him...?

[The smile is unexpected but welcome, and she tries her best to return it. After a moment, she nods.]

[Well... it's nice to see her try anyway lksdjf]

What did, he do...?

He--... [Suddenly it seems easier for her to smile, but it turns out a strange, honest, yet sad little smile. One of her pinkies pokes out just a bit past the rest of her fingers.] ... he said that he wasn't happy about what I'd done, but-- he was still so kind to me. Even once he knew I wasn't really his friend, he treated me like I-- like I mattered. He saved me from the people who were trying to make me hurt him.

[Oh gosh, it is nice to see her smile genuinely, even if it is a little sad. Nice to hear it worked out for her. Less nice that she apparently still hasn't forgiven herself when this guy apparently did]

And is uh... he your friend. Now?

[lethechained]

[That hesitation is not a good sign.]

... He had to go to sleep for a long time. He promised me that when he woke up, we'd meet again and be friends. [There's definitely a 'but' implied at the end, there.]

[Yeah he definitely hears it, and he watches her, quirking an eyebrow rather curiously. It's a silent prompt though. She can certainly change the subject if she doesn't want to say what the 'but' is there]

[Her pause this time is a mite shorter, and finally she glances at him, sees that eyebrow quirk, and glances away again.]

... But... once he woke up, he didn't remember me. And that's--... that's okay. That's how it's supposed to be.

[...what. That's. Not even close to what he was expecting. His gaze goes sympathetic and startled and it takes him a second to think of what even... to say to that...]

He... But. [Hm] Why, would that uh... be how it's, supposed to be...?
