A man with a gun, and a girl with asthma. Chidori spotted the intended assist from not too far off, even preoccupied as she was with the mangled would-be shadows advancing on her. While they bore only a vague resemblance to the creatures she knew by that point, she still knew what they were, and still knew how to take them down. The ones advancing on the two even as the man cleared others away however, were of an ilk she'd never seen- so she settled for her default offensive strategy when it came to the monsters she didn't recognize. Another gunshot- or at least the sound of one- even as she started moving forward, evoker aimed at her temple.

"Maragidyne!"

She cleared a swath of them, and some others skittered back and away even as she made her way forward to place herself between them and the duo on the stairs, sparing them a look over her shoulder.

"If she's alright to move, you should both get going. They'll regroup soon."

It was too soon to put away his weapon, but the offensive wasn't on England's mind at the moment. "Of course," the island nation replied quickly. He opened his mouth to make a further remark, but the sound of a gun going off that wasn't his made him turn. He saw a redheaded woman approaching, and some-- other creature materializing over her head. It didn't look friendly, but it seemed to be under her control.

He raised an arm to shield his eyes from the sudden light of the fire, squinting beyond the blaze at the woman. "Right," he conceded, before slipping his knife back into his belt to draw out his gun. "Thank you." He was a little concerned about leaving the redhead alone, but she appeared to be more than capable and the other girl had no means to fight. He needed to escort her.

England looked to the bespectacled girl, and offered his hand, if she so wished to take it. "We'll continue up the stairs," explained the man quickly. "It should be safer up there than the ground floor."

Keyword "should", but he'd take care of it if it wasn't. It was easier to run down stairs than up them anyways.

Echidna was stopped for a moment when holy hell was that girl holding a gun to her temple?! "H-Hey what are you--" Of course she was going to be a bit too late, and flinched away at the gunshot, only for the girl's head to be totally intact and another giant monster appear to set the monsters on fire.

She...wasn't even going to try and fix her glasses this time. Instead she was just going to stare dumbly while the two talked, and proceeded to cough into her arm when she finally snapped out of it.

When the man extended his hand, she carefully took it in between coughs, and nodded to him before looking back at the redhead. "Are you sure you're going to be OK...?!"

"You're welcome."

It was stated flatly, if only because Chidori wasn't really used to using it in this type of situation, and she looked up the stairs carefully, trying to see if there were any obstacles that would get in their way. At the girl's question, she blinked and shook her head, axes retaking their place in her hands as she returned her attention straight forward to the monsters once again trying to approach.

"I will be fine."

And she would, despite whatever the other girl might think. Chidori knew that look- it was a look that clearly stated that someone who would hold a gun to their head so easily shouldn't be left to their own devices. But she'd be alright- at least, she would be as long as Medea held out.

"Go. Please. I'll hold them off."

He didn't really like the way she said "hold them off" like she might be killed while attempting to destroy them, but England supposed it was her choice. And again, even if she didn't seem entirely sane, she was clearly dangerous enough. He could only hope for results with his own magic like the ones the redhead yielded so effortlessly.

With his gratitude stated, he helped the glasses girl straighten with a firm grip on her hand. After a quick check to ensure that his gun was loaded and ready to fire, England started up the stairs, tugging at the appendage in his grasp -- not hard enough to hurt, but with a note of urgency that said they needed to get going fast.

"Are you going to be able to continue running?" questioned the Briton, mindful of her cough. Perhaps she really was sick somehow. Or had some sort of condition. He'd be able to carry her if she collapsed, but it would be faster if they ran separately for as long as possible.

She said she'd be fine, but Echidna still wasn't too crazy about the idea of leaving someone behind. No soldier left behind, right? Not that she was in the military, but still. The point still stood. She made definite sure to remember to track down this girl later, at the least.

Her attention went back to the man, and Echidna gulped a bit at the hand tug. Not in a bad way though; she definitely appreciated that he was here right now, whoever he was-- both of them.

"Yes, I can run...!" Her breathing was still a little heavy, but she had it under control for the most part. She definitely regretted leaving her inhaler in the trunk, (Briar would've given her no small amount of grief if he were here, that was for sure) but she was determined enough and it hadn't got too horrible.

"You better be careful, OK!" She said once again to the red head, before bringing up her other arm and making a small fist, in a gesture to confirm that she was ready to beat it.

England wished there was more he could do to aid the strange gothic lolita -- a protective charm, if nothing else -- but under these circumstances, he didn't trust himself not to muck it up somehow, and he really didn't want to hurt their main line of defense as they ran.

"Tell me if you cannot continue on," the nation stated as he started to ascend the stairs at a hurried pace with the girl in tow. "I am able to carry you, you need only give me warning." She might feel uncomfortable asking that of a stranger (and England wasn't too big on touching people himself), but he was in battlefield mode, and the wounded needed assistance no matter one's own personal comfort zone.

Thus far there didn't seem to be any hostiles, but England kept his pistol at the ready while he ran just in case.

"O....OK...!!" Echidna agreed, slow half because of her lack of breath, and half because of her hesitance. It wasn't exactly that she was reluctant to touch people-- on the contrary, she rather enjoyed getting hugs from her DnD friends, especially Briar since he was so much taller. It was more a matter of pride; cut her some slack, it was weird being mundane in a place where fantastical people surrounded her. The least she could do was keep running.
