4th Call - All things "human"

Characters: Lucifel, Judas (Library) and open
Setting: 9th December, Floor 81, Library (floor 3) and floor 32
Format: Starting as prose but either is fine
Summary: Lucifel debating over gifts he got, a serious talk with Judas and after 9 months since his arrival he decided that he is fed up with Jason's cafeteria menu for good and tries himself on hunting.
Warnings: No warnings for the time being

Floor 81

A look in his mailbox had Lucifel surprised. On the 24th November he had gotten mail from Yotsuba, along with a flower crown, a pair of white gloves, and a blue scarf. The gloves and scarf were crudely made but he could see how much effort she had put into this gift for him. On the next day he had gotten an anonymous gift. A pair of knit gloves and a scarf, both black. While he didn't know who they were from, they had been well-made...

It's the first time he was given gifts like that and he the first time he has been so torn.

Lucifel sat close at the windows where he had laid out both gifts in front of him. It was hard to decide on which one to wear.

Library, floor 3 (Judas, open)

Eventually Lucifel decided that he pondered on the choice of gifts for long enough. After all there were important things he had to tend to. He had wanted to speak to Judas about someone for a while, but doing so when the person he wanted to talk about with Judas was his room mate was a bit of a problem. So he had to wait for a good moment where he was alone. However, waiting for the right moment paid off, in the end he found Judas at the library.

The archangel approached the other male then and appeared in front of him. "Hey... there's something I'd like to ask you."

Floor Thirty-Two

It hasn't even been two weeks since the month had begun and Lucifel was fed up with the menu. Actually he had been fed up with it during the last Jason month already but he thought he could try to endure it. But he couldn't. His stomach went on strike. He'd rather go hunt than to eat another nutrition bar.

While he pondered on it a bit longer he decided that he would give it a try. but he would start with the basics first, just to try and see if he would get the hang of it. At the forest he had set up several snare traps, since he didn't need much to make them, he just had to make sure they were hidden well. Once they had all been set, Lucifel climbed up a tree, now all he had to do was to be patient.

It was a bit strange though... while he had done some 'human' things before he wouldn't have thought that he would ever go hunting.

Those wandering through this floor should watch out that they aren't accidentally ending up in one of his traps.

"I'll just have to wait until an animal or two pass by." He'd have to play the waiting game if he wanted to catch anything, but that was fine with him. As long as he would eventually get his hands on something that wasn't a nutrition bar it mattered little.

"But Yotsuba doesn't have to wait with me."

"But I wanna wait with you, Luci! Please?! I'll be reeeally quiet, so the animals won't get scared and run away!"

At least, she would try to be. When you were excited because an animal finally showed up, it could be hard to contain yourself sometimes.

"Really? It might get boring for Yotsuba, all the waiting and not being allowed to speak."

Her getting excited was another point that made him think that it might be better that she shouldn't wait with him.

While getting excited would be a bad thing for two hunters, it wasn't something that Yotsuba was thinking about right now. Of course, if Lucifel wanted to make sure she helped away from the forest, he could always suggest that she hunted at the floating aquarium.

"Don't worry! I won't get bored! I'll help!"

Her helping away from the forrest would mean not keeping an eye on her and perhaps her ending up hurt. This would probably okay as well.

"Alright, then we have to hide well."

While she probably wouldn't end up hurt-as she was a little skilled at avoiding monsters-it was usually a good idea for Yotsuba to stay with an adult or someone else while she was playing around the Tower.

"Okay then! Where should we hide?! In a bush?!"

Better be safe than sorry, especially because some of the people in the Tower weren't that friendly either.

Lucifel then lifted a finger and made a motion for her to be a bit more quiet then.

"Yes, a bush is a good idea."

This, sadly, was true. Right now though, Yotsuba repeated Lucifel's motion and replied, lowering her voice to a whisper.

"Okay then! Let's hide in that bush then, Luci.~"

While she would still cling to the Angel, she would use one hand to point to a very large bush behind Lucifel.

"Looks like a good place." He said and walked with her to said bush, carrying her all the way there. Now all they had to do is wait... and Lucifel would have to think of a way to keep her entertained while they waited for an animal to get trapped.

What could they do without saying a word though?

They could draw in the dirt, if there were any sticks nearby. However, for the moment, Yotsuba was happy just trying to turn around so that her face wasn't buried in Lucifel's chest. It wasn't like she hated using it as a pillow, but she wanted to be ready to spot any animals that came by.

Of course, she wanted to see as much as possible and that was fine. He'd just carry her with one arm if she were to fall asleep on him, with the free arm he could carry the animals he'd hopefully catch.

For better or worse, there was no way Yotsuba was going to fall asleep. She was just too excited at the idea of helping Luci and seeing some awesome animals to drift off. However, she did try to pick up a stick from the ground so that she could use it to help with any animals that might pass by later..or just draw in the dirt with while they waited.

"I hope they come soon!" Her voice was hushed, but excited.

"I hope so too." He whispered and began to pace around.

Eventually the sound of a quail approaching could be heard. This thing better got in one of his traps, then he wouldn't have to eat the nutrition bars for a day at least... and hopefully Yotsuba would be quiet.

While Yotsuba's wanted to cry out that it sounded like a birdie was coming, she did her best to contain herself by squeezing her stick and making a shushing motion to Luci. Hopefully it would get caught in the trap!

Atta girl. Lucifel petted her head, glad that she managed to keep silent for the moment. He watched the bird... slowly... just a few more steps...

And it stepped right into the trap. "Now Yotsuba can get excited."

While Yotsuba really wanted to laugh a little when Lucifel petted her hair, she did her best to contain herself..at least, until the Angel said that she could get excited. Then she let loose with a happy laugh, pumping a fist into the air.

"Okay!~ Let's go, Luci! We hafta kill if if we're gonna eat it! But we hafta help it re..reincarnate too, okay?!"

Lucifel's eyes grew wide when Yotsuba said so bluntly that they have to kill the bird. And that they should help it reincarnate.

"... That's not our job. I'll bring this to someone who knows how to do it right."

Well, it wasn't like she was unfamiliar with the idea of hunting, since she had tried it herself before. Plus, while reincarnation probably didn't happen here for the souls of the animals and the truly dead people, she thought it did and wanted to help out.

So she frowned and pouted a little bit at Lucifel's answer.

"Yes it is! We can kill it, and we hafta help it reincarnate! Or it'll be harder for the birdie to reincarnate!"

"Enoch will know how to handle it."

And that's all he'll be saying about this topic. In all honesty he doubted the bird could reincarnated since it was made of film... something he didn't want to think about for the moment, otherwise he'd think of this months cafeteria menu again.

Sadly, while Yotsuba knew that they were really souls in metal bodies-which, to her, was pretty darn cool-she didn't know that the animals were made of film. Even if she did know though, she probably wouldn't have too much of a problem eating game like this.

"Okay..but we can still help him! Yotsuba knows how to help people reincarnate! Do you, Luci?! I can teach you!"

Since Lucifel wanted to focus on catching more animals he decided to explain to her what the animals here were made of for another time.

"... How would Yotsuba know how to reincarnate people?"

If there could have been a question mark above his head it would be a rather big one.

That was probably for the best. At the question, Yotsuba dropped her stick and started to explain what she understood and remembered. Even if it was probably strange to Lucifel. Not that she knew or cared about that.

"The..um..Yotsuba learned when we all dressed in black back home and said sorry a lot! But you put your hands together.."

And, to demonstrate, the child would put both her hands together. She didn't grip them, but they were together.

"Then ya hafta say the words! Na..Namu Amida..Butsu! That'll help the birdie reincarnate!"

"Ah... I get it." So she was speaking about a practice from Buddhism. The idea itself, to ask for forgiveness, isn't bad though.

"Has Yotsuba reached enlightenment yet?" Of course she wouldn't, Lucifel was joking. And he doubted she would understand what he's talking about. He's actually expecting her to ask about what enlightenment is in the next moment.

While Yotsuba had no idea what Buddhism was, or that the practice was to even ask for forgiveness. She just knew that the small ritual she just did helped people reincarnate, nothing more or less.

"En..Enlightenment? I dunno what that is..but Saber said I was..a..a source of brightness! So Yotsuba's bright! And so are you, Luci! And so's Enoch and Romeo and Zett and Rick and Dia and a whole bunch of other people!"

While Lucifel's assumption was correct, that didn't mean she wouldn't at least attempt to figure it out, since she thought she had some idea of what it might mean.

Not just forgiveness but also to reach enlightenment like Buddha had. Lucifel chuckled and pet the girls head. Yes, she was a source of brightness.

"Yes, Yotsuba is bright, in more than one way. But enlightenment is a different thing, something that's a bit hard to understand."
