You say that like the administrators aren't the type of people to punish anyone they can get their hands on when something goes wrong. Sure, they'll know we didn't do it, but it'll be easier to get to us than it will be to get to the ones who did

Her expression flickers and she tightens her grip on her staff just the tiniest bit. It's almost imperceptible - he would have to be watching closely to have seen it.]

I needed some time to sort it all out. There's still some things I need to look into... one of the people who disappeared sent me something before he vanished. I haven't really worked up the courage to look at it yet.

If there's one thing I can say for Jason, it's that he's usually fair in that regard, at least as to what he thinks is the truth.

[Better him than Ruana, that was for certain. Asch isn't watching closely enough to catch the change in her grip, but he can see her face well enough. And he gets it, too, because she isn't the only one who's had people vanish, lately.
