Summary: Aria is open to speak to the residents of the Tower, if they would like to.

[The infirmary swarms with retrieval units and worker units, all of whom have chipped collars. Most of them seem busy with one task or another, but a few are free enough to direct anyone who asks to speak to Aria to the woman in question. She's converted one of the examination rooms into something of an office, albeit a sparse one. She looks nervous and a little tired, but excited all the same. Her office is guarded by four retrieval units--attacking her here would be a bad idea, even setting aside the fact that Aria is a retrieval unit herself.

She seems happy to see anyone who walks in, though.]

Is that where they're coming from? [Aria chews on her lower lip.] Well... I guess Jason was bound to retaliate somehow.

[Oh no, worried Aria! That can't be allowed to stay.]

He's probably mad and making angry faces like this. [V/V makes a comically angry face.]

[animusnpcs]

[That gets a smile.] Probably. He's always had a temper. You guys would know that, too, huh?

[heavenscorpse]

Yeah. He takes things out on us a lot. One time after we figured out how to switch our bodies back to normal when he put us in other people's bodies, he got mad and took away all the food in the cafeteria. Not even letting us have nutrition bars.

[animusnpcs]

He's a sore loser--he always has been, I think. And a control freak.

[heavenscorpse]

He's a big jerk, basically. Most of us don't like him and a lot of us hate him.

[animusnpcs]

I don't blame you. I guess he's technically like my father, but I don't really like him either.

[heavenscorpse]

I wouldn't know how that is.

[Because she's a plant from another planet - if she was created by anything else on Venus she certainly wasn't aware enough to care - and this form of her is from the thoughts of an entire city. Parenthood is totally alien to her.)

[animusnpcs]

Oh, really? [Aria seems uncertain about which emotion she should convey there--the curiosity is obvious, but she seems to be trying to decide if V/V is sad about it or not and can't quite tell.] What are things like where you're from?

[heavenscorpse]

[Not sad, more accepting.]

Well, I'm not a really good example of what things are like. I don't think there's any species exactly like me in my whole world. Um, I'm a parasitic plant, to be precise.

[animusnpcs]

A plant? [Aria seems to consider this extremely interesting, at least.] I like plants. You seem like a nice plant!

[heavenscorpse]

Thank you! You seem like a nice person. [In V/V's mind there's no reason to call her a retrieval unit when she's a person.] Do you sing?

[animusnpcs]

Not well. [Her smile is sheepish.] I'm still learning about music. But I try, sometimes.

[heavenscorpse]

If you keep trying, I'm sure you'll be able to sing beautifully. I'll be cheering for you.

[animusnpcs]

Thanks! It's a lot of fun, at least, even if I'm not as good at it as some of you guys.

Having fun is the most important part.

[V/V is more upbeat when she came in. It's nice, just being able to relax and talk to somebody else.]

I hope when things are a little calmer, we'll all be able to spend some time together and not worry about- whatever's going on.

[animusnpcs]

Wouldn't that be nice? [She seems to have thought about that a lot, given the look on her face all of the sudden.] There are a lot of things I'd like to try that don't have to do with organizing around this situation.

[heavenscorpse]

Oh, like what? Maybe I can bring some stuff down to you.

[animusnpcs]

Well, it's mostly--I'd like to go outside for real, and grow real plants, and--things like that. [She laughs a little, as if embarrassed.] Silly things, really.

[heavenscorpse]

I don't think they're silly at all. I bet you'll be able to do those things once things are calmer.

[animusnpcs]

That's the goal, I think. Well, besides getting all of you out. We'd like to have as normal a life as we can.

[heavenscorpse]

If you were to stop the administrators, would you like to live on this world, or would you like to go somewhere else? I don't know what's on the outside of the tower, but I've heard it's not very good either.

[animusnpcs]

Well... It's still our world. We were born here. Or--made here and woken up, I guess. I'd like to see what the rest of the world is like, at least.

[heavenscorpse]

So you don't know either?

[animusnpcs]

No. We were born in the Tower and we've never left. I've never even seen the door, though I know one exists.
