[Sarcasm practically drips from his voice.]
Maybe you should just cut your losses and focus on not getting killed instead.

That's not acceptable.
[The sarcasm, and the cutting losses both. Sephiroth needs the body that the Tower will reward him with. He can only then be complete again.]

Suit yourself. Just don't be a sore loser when everything's over.

I don't intend to lose. There is too much at stake.
[He's not moving to walk past Lancer at all, either. Only remain stood there with his head down and peering up with his eyes at the other hunter. It doesn't look -that- out of place from the distance they currently hold from each other, but Sephiroth's comfort is quickly dwindling away.]

[Lancer, on the other hand, is moving to walk past Sephiroth.]
Just try not to get in my way, and I won't get in yours.

[Deja-vu much, hunting Jason in a maze. Only the 8th Floor maze has nothing on the Labyrinth they now find themselves in, and there wasn't any power stripping going on then either.
Neither did Sephiroth's head feel this heavy. His head drops a little further as he moves closer to the wall to allow Lancer extra room to get passed him - though not releasing any of the tension around his grip in the hilt.]

[Lancer walks past Sephiroth, looking a little surprised as he does so. He expected the other man to try and block his way or something.]

[After all, Sephiroth is certain that he will be the one to find and to finish Jason. At this point, his Destiny demands it.
But he does let the Servant pass him without any further incident. In silence, more than a little down to his thoughts trying to worm their way around this pain his neck. This weight suddenly pulling at shoulders.]

[And Lancer leaves Sephiroth behind, going to sniff for Jason.]
