march 6th | sam's birthday! [open log]
Characters: Lelouch
doasisay and anyone else who would like to come along for Sam's
undroppedeaves birthday.
Setting: Lelouch starts out in the cafeteria and then heads elsewhere for Sam.
Format: Doesn't matter. Whatever you wanna do!
Summary: Today is Sam's birthday. He's been such a good friend to everyone that Lelouch has decided (with the uncooperative help of Waver) to throw him a small party. Everyone is welcome.
Warnings: None as of right now.
Lelouch didn't know that much about Sam, but he did know that he deserved as much kindness as he gave everyone else in this place. This place was (more or less) hell for others and he kept a smile on his face. That was something that Lelouch thought was very brave.
Lelouch had been in the cafeteria all morning, baking a cake for his friend. He had invited Waver but...he didn't seem to show. It didn't bother him though, I mean, he had just moved into the room and they hadn't exactly gotten to know each other yet. He wanted to do this for Sam though. A party for Sam would've been nice, but he didn't know all of Sam's friends. So Lelouch had tried his best to get in touch with others and invite them along to meet in their room.
Once the cake (except it's a white cake with white fondant on it and the writing is blue) was ready, Lelouch put it in a box and carefully made his way to the second floor and to their room. He had been hoping that Sam would be away for a bit so that he could get it finished in time.

[However, it occurred to him that he should at least make an effort to get along with the people he'd be rooming with presumably until the apocalypse. Whether his social skills were a disaster or not, Waver could at least recognize the value of a few more allies in a place like this.]
Lelouch? [When the ponytailed magus in green arrived, a woman trailed behind him...or rather, a silver liquid shaped like a woman.] You'll have to forgive me being late, I spent most of the morning in the laboratory.

It's no problem, I'm surprised that you came here at all. You didn't have to, but thank you nonetheless.

[Only mostly. The silver woman stepped forward, silently straightening up the kitchen and properly organizing things as she went. Whatever she was, Waver didn't comment or find her remotely unusual.]
I should however mention that I can't cook worth a damn.

It's fine, you're new. You didn't have to come here at all. I just didn't want you to feel left out.
[ Lelouch smiled, finally done with the batter as he poured it into two seperate pans ] There are other things that you can do, so that's what matters. I taught myself to cook and sew once my parents passed away. It's been my younger brother and I as far back as I can remember, so I had to learn to care for him and myself.

[He tilted his head in the direction of the maid, who had straightened up the kitchen and now simply stood off to the side.]
Take this for example. It's a weapon called Volumen Hydragyrum; a measure of liquid mercury infused with and controlled by magical energy.

I had been curious as to what she actually was, but I didn't want to pry.

Exactly. I'm specifically an alchemist, myself. Not to say that's the only branch of magecraft there is, but you seem to get the concept of it.
