seventeenth prayer
Characters: Kyoko Sakura, open
Setting: Room 01-05, dorms, cafeteria, staircase
Format: Action
Summary: After spending months in her dead world, Kyoko is back in the tower.
Warnings: None.
Room 01-05
[It's been a long, long time since she's woken up in a bed like this. The sheets are clean and white, the room well kept and maintained, and when she sits up Kyoko finds that there are three others. Her hand touches the space next to her. She peers over both sides of the bed, almost expecting someone to be there. The small child that she'd gotten so used to sleeping next to during her time here.
Of course, something like that would be too romantic.
She pulls her knees up, scanning the room again. After spending months in a dead world, she should be jumping at the idea of being in a place with people--some place with warmth and good meals, but instead she just feels tired. There were no people in her world. No Puella Magi, Witches or Incubators. Nothing but her. Everything was dull and gray, lonely and empty.
She heaves out a heavy sigh. One last look. If she sees anyone else in the room, she'll finally raise her hand in acknowledgement.]
Yo.
Dorms
[It took some time, but she managed to force herself up, get changed and leave the room. She knew without even checking that none of her fellow Puella Magi were here. Their magical signatures were decidedly abscent. Even so, starting with the first room, she stops in front of each and every room.
Her eyes scan the name plates, looking for familiar names. Mami Tomoe, Sayaka Miki, Homura Akemi, Madoka Kaname. Kazumi, Saki Asami. Czeslaw Meyer, Naoto Shirogane, Yosuke Hanamura. They're all decidedly absent and her heart sinks a little with each door that she passes by.
Eventually she starts finding names that she recognizes. People who were decent, people that she might be able to rely on for information. She'll worry about that later. For now, she just wants to look for somebody she can trust for just a little while longer.]
Cafeteria
[The cafeteria is the one place that Kyoko still has interest in. After months of nothing, her stomach feels like it's gnawing on itself. She knew that she didn't need food. No matter how much time passed, her weight didn't change. She never suffered for it, but that sensation was always there. It has been since the day that her father died. It increased every day. Empty, hungry, unworthy of even having a decent meal.
She plans on making up for all of that lost time now. It'd been hard to wait for the elevator to hit the bottom, but well worth it. An empty bowl of oatmeal has already been pushed aside, along with a few plates that have been stacked up. Several more things sit out in front of her. Sandwich and chicken nuggets, cake and brownies. In her hands are a bowl of ice cream and a spoon, which she's rapidly devouring.
She almost feels normal again, if only for a moment. She speaks to no one in particular.]
Haah, how long's it been since I've had a decent meal like this? Being stuck in the middle of no where like that was a serious pain, y'know.
Staircase (any floor)
[Her stomach was full, but in the end it hadn't fixed the somewhat hollow feeling that finding herself alone again had brought on, but after dealing with it for months, perhaps that's not a surprise.
Her final duty of business was to check the tower once more. It's easy to slip back into that old habit, even after all this time. She progresses up the stairs, pausing as she reaches each floor to look this way and that. Kyoko doesn't bother stepping onto any of them. That can be done another day. There's a stick of banana pocky in her mouth. One hand is in her pocket.
For now she just scans them blankly, without much interest in their contents. An infirmary, a forest, a room filled with screaming (she tries to pass through that one quickly,) torture chambers and fish. She saw it every day for so long, and it's still all the same (still all fake) none of it seems interesting anymore.]

You must be hungry. Let's get you something to eat?
How long has it been? Well, I saw your gravestone in August, so....
