For Thine Is; Part One

Characters: anyone outside of the Tower
Setting: outside
Format: any
Summary: You have been transported out of the Tower, and you must return quickly.
Warnings: psychological horror

It's pitch black here, though the ground is made of dirt and the Tower gleaming in the distance provides at least a sign that light exists somewhere. It's completely silent. It feels as if things might jump out at you--but that's probably your imagination.

Well then. That was terrible, but somehow satisfying. To have someone confirmed as the source of the virus meant she could freely direct all of her feelings of hatred and vengeance upon them, upon Ruana. She would never admit that much though.

"I have not." She replied on an even tone and turned back to the gleaming tower "... If what you say is true, then Zo might now be in an even greater danger than we are."

She knew little about her, but Hilda doubted Ruana would have missed something that big happening right under her nose.

Xions eyes widened slightly. She hadn't thought

"You're right. I'm not sure. Ruana... cares a lot about Zo. But he still might be, depending on what he does," she paused, "We also found out he might be the one who can help restore our worlds."

So it was more important than ever that Zo be kept safe. Regardless, they needed to get back to the Tower, now more than ever.

Hilda held back at disdainful cough as Xion mentioned Ruana cared for Zo. If this woman was truly half the monster people depicted her as, she couldn't imagine her feelings to be genuine. She had a hard time picturing her with feelings in the first place.

"If your words are true, then this woman is responsible for deliberately choosing to destroy our worlds. Her crimes are beyond any words I know. I wouldn't trust her ability to care for any living being to be lasting, especially in such a situation."

The next piece of info took her aback however, and caused her to gasp. He could restore their worlds? This was doubtlessly the best new she'd had yet, but at the same time this was distressing. They had a way to save their world, but he was now so far away, not to mention in great danger. She immediately turned back to the gleaming tower.

"Then we need to hurry, or all hope may be lost."

"It's hard to explain," Xion replied, grimacing, "It's always looked like she sees him like a little brother. But if he realized what's going on..."

He wouldn't be as likely to see her as an older sister or a friend anymore. And if he tried to confront Ruana... The notes they'd gotten from Dax had predicted that Zo already was powerful enough to stand up to Ruana alone. But Xion still didn't like the idea of him doing so. Something about it scared her.

She definitely wasn't going to argue with the need to hurry. "Yeah."

As she had never witnessed Ruana's behavior with Zo, Hilda had a hard time imagining the one behind their imprisonment in the tower and the destruction of their worlds as anything but a monster.

"A lot of things are different from what they look like and we are living proof of it." She looked at her wireframe hand. "You told me this Ruana has been lying both to us and him about the virus. Her affection for the boy may just be another layer of deception. But I shall pray for his sake that you are right."

With this being said, Hilda turned to the distant tower and started walking along everyone else.
