It's pitch black here, though the ground is made of dirt and the Tower gleaming in the distance provides at least a sign that light exists somewhere. It's completely silent. It feels as if things might jump out at you--but that's probably your imagination.

Indeed. The Tower is said to be upon a hill overlooking a city that spans as far as the eye can see. Not even being able to see the city itself from here is... discouraging.

[And that's the only hint she'll let slip that she's much more frightened than she's letting on. She even shakes her head, as if to clear that line of thinking from her mind.]

Am I correct in presuming you will be doing your best to make certain no one falls behind?
