Characters: The Summoner and YOU
Setting: Around!
Format: Action to start, but I’ll follow
Summary: Somebody's po’d about suddenly being not at home!
Warnings: None at the moment

[He’ll only stay in this room as long as he’s forced here, he resolves. Being caught so completely, staring up at an unfamiliar ceiling, is neither pleasant nor comforting. In fact, if he allowed himself these thoughts anyway, it rather terrifies him. Nothing like being dropped into an unfamiliar and likely dangerous situation with a body that won’t move. His mind reels as he waits: Gotta be a highblood plot, right? But how would they have found him… hmm.  And what about his cavalreapers?  Everything feels off-kilter and strange, and the very moment he can, he slips across the communal respiteblock floor, wings half opened, and tries the door]

[AND LATER he’s moving carefully through each floor, suspicious and irritated. His head is held at an odd angle as he explores, lowered slightly so he’s forced to peer up through his brows to see, but his horns carve a sharp, dangerous arc through the air, settled at just about goring level. It’s not really the best threat, but he’s made them work for him in the past when he’s been desperate. And hey, if this isn’t a desperate situation here, without his soldiers or his beasts or his weapons, then he doesn’t know what is! So yeah... watch out, guys… This troll fit to snap at the first thing that looks at him wrong…]

[Naminé's room is, unfortunately for her, on the same floor as the one the Summoner woke up on. So, completely unaware of the fact that there's a cranky troll in the hallway, she reaches the top of the stairs on her return trip from the open floor a level below (she needed some fresh air) and begins to step out into said hallway. However, upon turning her head in the direction she intended to go, she pauses.]

[Naminé has seen quite a few trolls. She has also seen her fair share of adult trolls. She has not, however, ever seen an adult troll with horns that large bearing down a hallway in her general direction with a... very uncomfortable looking posture. She's also only ever seen one other troll with wings, but that one was just a youngster. Her natural and immediate response is to stop mid-step and stare, still partially hidden behind the wall next to the stairs.]

[The girl straightens slightly when he stops, staying very still. It doesn't make any difference in the long run; he sees her anyway. The request makes her blink. She's familiar with the troll's ideas of blood color and social order although not the part about eye color matching blood color, but she can't quite imagine why someone would think she's a "highblood" - unless it's about her collar, which is admittedly purple. It was enough to confuse another adult troll before, but he'd assumed she belonged to a purple-blood rather than being one. Still, it's pretty obvious that this particular troll is new, so after a moment's hesitation, she steps out into the hallway, one hand still lingering on the corner of the wall.]

[She's quite possibly the least threatening alien he'll see today, barely more than a pale slip of a girl. She thinks it's probably best not to try to correct him about anything just yet; she's well aware of the violence prevalant in troll culture and he wouldn't be the first adult troll to threaten her, should things go that route. After a brief moment in which she attempts to figure out the best way to phrase it, she says,]
The tower. [There's not really much more of a name for it, as far as she knows.] The letters should have explained it.

--....

[The better tone is helpful, but she's not exactly about to relax. She can understand why he wouldn't, either. It's an odd situation, and when one took into account the culture he (presumably) came from... well, she definitely didn't blame him. But-- "what letters?" Her brow furrows slightly.]

You didn't see any letters? They should have been in your room when you woke up...?

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-11-22 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
[...Fortunately, she's not about to judge him. She's well aware how disorienting that can be.]

Um-- yes. [Or at least she assumes that's the right term.] Being kidnapped can do that. [Aaaaand there goes an attempt at a smile. It's brief, though, since she's still not sure how antagonistic this, er, gentleman might turn out to be.] Well... the letters would probably explain it better than I could, but-- it's... not good news, and they don't tell you everything.

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-11-22 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
[NO, OF COURSE NOT. C: It's not like she has terrible mindcrushing powers or anything like that-- I mean, she notices the return smile, and it makes her shoulders relax ever so slightly, even though he tries to be tough right afterwards. The motion of his wings catches her eye and she glances at them, briefly curious before she realizes he's looking at her again and consequently looks back. After a second to process, she nods.]

Of course. [She hesitates for a moment, though, since it's not exactly an easy topic to cover.] But I should warn you, you might not like what you hear. [Her expression is suitably apologetic.]

[...You know, he kind of reminds her of someone. LOLOLOL DISNEY CROSSOVER GAME--]

Alright. [She still pauses to take a fairly deep breath, though.] The letters... say that the worlds that everyone comes from [And that notion is emphasized by the closed hand placed against her chest to indicate that that includes her while simultaneously attempting to help her nerves.] ... have been destroyed. Since you woke up here, that probably means they're talking about yours, too. [There's a brief pause while she lets that sink in, but not so long as to invite his to get more distressed than necessary.] But... most of the people here don't seem to believe it.

--?

[The first part of his reaction was definitely to be expected, although even so she couldn't help feeling a little guilty. It wasn't her fault; she was just the messenger. But... that didn't mean she couldn't feel bad about having to break such awful news. The last part, though, has her taken aback.]

Trick...? [She hadn't even mentioned the possibility that the eye witness accounts of destroyed worlds were illusions, which was what she'd intended to explain. She hadn't even mentioned the eye witness accounts! So... what? Did he come to the same conclusion already, somehow? Ah-- but no, that's too optimistic, it seems, judging by that tone of his. She can't help shrinking inward, just a little, eyes wide. The illusions weren't her doing... although, admittedly, it was within her ability to create such things. But-- he had no way of knowing that... did he? --No, no, it's preposterous to assume he was talking about illusions at all.] What trick--? [She can definitely understand being in denial, but that threatening look is quite unsettling and she can't help but think of the expression "don't shoot the messenger", but she kind of gets the feeling that that would not be a good thing to bring up at this point. She didn't fail to expect some kind of bad reaction, but it would have been nice to be wrong. He seemed so nice for a second.]

[This is an accurate description of her liiiiiife--]

[She's not so sure she wants to look at him, either, but she's too uncertain about the situation to look away. She shakes her head, her voice earnest.]

No one told me to say that...! I was just trying to help. The people who control the tower are dangerous, and the letters-- the part about the worlds being destroyed hasn't been proven. [And she can only hope that that'll help ease the bitterness. It makes more sense for him to be upset about his world possibly being destroyed than be upset about it not being destroyed, right? It's not denial if everyone's doing it, is it--]

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Pretty low? Just those words make curl inward a bit more, and briefly she feels ashamed - but she hadn't meant to suggest that at all...! She meets his scrutiny with a slightly pained expression, but quickly turns her eyes away and raises her shoulders almost defensively.]

...I didn't mean to suggest that. I just-- thought I should mention it, since it's what the letters say, and I wanted to make sure you knew that it might not be true.

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
[IT'S COOL she's used to not being apologized to outright for. Things. She turns back to look at him again when he says he'll trust what she's saying, clearly a bit surprised. It fades, though, and although she does notice the sorry tone, she doesn't smile or give away that she has. Instead, she nods. She neither needs nor expects an apology, anyway.]

...Thank you. [She, however, is not hesitant to apologize herself.] I'm sorry, I know it's hard to hear.

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
[She blinks at the smile, and it takes her a moment to return it because what was said before it was a bit distracting. In the end, though, she does smile back, even if said smile is a bit small.] It won't be easy. No one's found a way to stop them yet. But--... [Well, it's no secret, even if it might cause trouble.] ... a lot of people have been saying that we need to do something, so if you want help, then... you'll probably be able to find it.

[identity profile] lethechained.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
[She hesitates, then lets out a tiny sigh.] I'm... not much of a fighter. I'm not sure I'd be able to do anything, if it came to that. [And when did it not, with things like this? It's true that she does have powers, but... even now, she's not about to let anyone know about them. They're entirely too dangerous, even for the people she'd be trying to help, and if there's any chance the people who run the tower don't know about them, she wants to keep it that way.]
