[The Hidden floor is probably the safest place in the Tower right now, but "safe" is relative when everybody is starting to feel the effects of the new threat.

The infiltration team has a dangerous job, but how well can those who stayed behind prepare for the aftermath when they have their own crisis to deal with?]

I've noticed on several floors where the monsters are normally prevalent, I couldn't find one. And it isn't like I was just passing through and managed to not step into a random encounter. I mean, I looked and couldn't find any.

So they're gone entirely. Why do I have a distinct feeling that's the opposite of good news?

That's what I'm thinking, though I'll need to make another trip to those floors to confirm. [Lips pull back in a small grimace.] A forest doesn't become empty of its creatures unless something bigger and badder is coming - be it a larger monster, a fire, or worse...

That, or the slightly more unsettling option: something else is already wiping them out.

......Shit. [Elena pales slightly.] If we go off that idea, then are we next?

That would be the million dollar question. On a carefully measured scale of 'moderately fucked' to 'already horribly dead', I would estimate we're in a position that's about to drop quickly to the wrong side.

In short, we need to get our shit together and determine what's going wrong immediately.

Agreed on both parts. Hence the notes on what I've observed myself. Dia has shared with me that certain floors are more draining than others, but that doesn't tell us what the source of this is and how we prevent our situation from escalating.

Maybe they have something in common, some sort of clue as to what the fuck's causing this. It can't just be random goddamned floors.

I'm hoping that's the case, but hell if I know what the commonality is. I'm more of a doer than a puzzle solver.
