Endgame: Gathered on This Beach of the Tumid River

Characters: open
Setting: all around the Tower from the 25th of May to the 1st of June
Format: any
Summary: A general mingle for all characters throughout the Tower.
Warnings: Standard Animus warnings; please note anything specific in the subject headers of your threads

[The Tower is stagnant, the only signs of activity confined to the second block. There isn't much time left; it might be a good idea to rest and do whatever strikes your fancy before the timer hits zero.]

I tell you this not to make you weep, but because I need no Magical Sight to show me that you labor under a great Burden. I tell you this because I would have you know that you are not Alone.
[His eyes never leave her face as he speaks, but he does not touch her, as she has not given her leave.]
And I tell you this because you put me not a little in Mind of my Master-- a Brave Soul, but a Despairing one as well. I am not a Generous man, nor a terribly Kind one, but I take these matters to Heart, for I am one who knows the Harm of Surrender to Despair.

That is why I speak to you so Freely now, here at the Last, Grainne-- to say that I do See your trouble, but would not see you devoured by it.

I thank you for your words, and in the manner for which they are meant, but...

[Pushing away her feelings, Grainne returns to her work, finishing the application of the poultice. The bandaging may be a little more problematic, but she worries the material will dry out too fast and flake away before the wounds have a chance to set.

A hand in her bag pulls out some self adhesive things she pilfered from the infirmary early on. Maybe this and a good wrap will do...]

There is nothing I can do to change anything. This has been made clear to me, and I grow more conscious of the fact I do not want to the longer I am here.

[He tilts his head obligingly, seeking to aid her in her work.]

Then you do not need my Words, since your Mind is made-- and for the Better, I reckon, though I do no know your Hurt, and though all such sentiments seem empty when the Heart has taken a Wound.

Perhaps soon we shall Leave this Place all together, and you may find Peace, Grainne. I Pray it will be so.
[His eyes are on her face, displaying a kind of remote empathy, an ancient understanding.]

I think you for your Healing-- and for the Sight of you as well, for both have been a Balm to me.
[It skirts the edge of what might be considered appropriate, and he does find her lovely-- but primarily he refers to the ways in which she reminds of spirited women of his own Life's time.]

It will be as it was meant to be. I will surely find peace when I return home.

[She laughs softly, a strangely bitter sound that briefly touches the edge of more dark emotions. The bandages work, for the most part, and then she adds a wrapping of gauze over them. With this and his natural Servant healing, he should be fine very shortly.]

Do not thank me, it is I who should thank you for allowing me to be useful in some small way.
