[He earns himself a laugh that's almost a cackle for how sudden and sharp it is, and she snickers into her hand for a moment, shaking her head.]

That's unbelievable. Hilarious, but unbelievable. I mean I don't doubt it but why would you even go through the trouble?

Didn't have a choice at that point. The Holy Grail War's only held in Japan, and I'd kind of committed to the idea by then.

I also never said I was a smart kid.

You know, it seems a little counter-intuitive that the Holy Grail of all things is in Japan.

But now I'm kind of curious about the Misadventures of Waver in Japan.

Anyway, there's not much to tell. I got there, summoned Lancer, and blindly stumbled around the war like a fucking idiot while managing through some sheer fluke to survive.

Well yeah, I figured that much- I mean no offense Professor but I can spot someone with Issues a mile away.

[She reaches up, twisting one of the longer locks of her hair around a finger.]

I thought normal people dealt with shit by talking about it and junk.

None taken. But I deal with shit by bottling it up and becoming a sarcastic, bitter mess of a person with a questionably reasonable hatred of fish and the social skills of someone that has had one friend in nearly thirty years.

Yes, everyone's been horrifically persistent in this whole friendship thing since I got here.

...I suppose I've become accustomed to that much.

I guess I can't complain too much. This tower is the most social interaction I've ever had with people I didn't want to outright strangle.

It sure does beat the facility, I'll give it that. Never got to have any fun there that wasn't a fight.

The Clock Tower is incredibly devoid of humor. And of people I can stand to be in a room with for more than five minutes at a time.

Really, as far as the social aspect of things, this hellhole's probably the best I could have asked for.
