Don't be ridiculous. You won't.

[Really, Charles. Are you--really.]

Then color me ridiculous--

[He'll roll over to a nearby table to set his drink down, before rolling on back, holding a hand out to Erik.]

And humor me with a dance, my friend?

[Erik looks down at Charles as if he's grown a second head.]

You can't be serious.

No.

[What--he kisses you once, and now think they can dance? What.]

Very serious, but apparently that isn't good enough for you.

[He'll let his hand fall and shrugs.]

Admittedly it's a bit foolish to ask a man to dance with me, isn't it? Though I doubt anyone here would care much. [Even if it would be strange for the both of them.]

Perhaps I could see if Molly wishes to dance again then.

[And he'll make to start turning, to go find said Molly. And excuse you, it was more than ONE kiss. There where quite a few in there, sir.]

[Erik stills the chair with his powers.]

Good enough? I said I don't dance. It has nothing to do with your serious being 'good enough'.

This is--

[He scowls, taking a drink.]

Think about someone other than yourself for one damn minute.

[Annoyance nags at him when he feels his chair not moving. But admittedly he was being a brat about the whole thing. He wanted to think it was because of how he was now... but he shouldn't dwell on that, he shouldn't let it get between them.

Even though it did, but only because Charles let it.]

... I'm sorry.

[As the moment he tries to fire back with something angry, or to fight what Erik says, Charles finds he really doesn't want to. Ashamed now, he'll sigh, looking down at his lap, fingers running over the indent in the arm of his chair. Something he found himself doing much too often now. A nervous tick almost.]

We certainly know how to tear at each other, don't we.

[Erik sighs, and lets the chair go.]

[groovy_mutation]

[There's a small bout of silence between them before Charles nods, but then looks up at him. He looks thoughtful, and there is the smallest hints of a smile on his lips.]

But we also know how to put each other back together, don't we.

[And looking over at his abandoned drink he'll motion for Erik to come with him.]

Will you sit with me?

Time will tell.

[He sighs, finishing his drink.]

All right.

[He pulls out his flask and pours more alcohol into it as he walks.]

[Pleased that Erik will stay with him, Charles relaxes. Though seeing that flask he'll find the idea of alcohol really appealing.]

Would you mind sharing a little?

Of course, vicar.

[And he sits down, pouring some into the other's drink.]

You're a godsend, Erik.

[He'll take up his drink and tip it a bit in cheers to him, before sipping some.]

... oh that is much better.

Oh yes. Woe be it for you to be without alcohol.

[He smirks, though, and takes another sip of his own.]

For your information I haven't been able to drink much if anything because of the meds I'd be-- [And he'll slowly stop talking, realizing that it's probably not a good subject to bring up. There's an awkward pause as he clears his throat, looking down at his drink.]

I haven't had much lately, this is nice.

Oh I don't know. You'd be interesting, slightly loopy on alcohol and medication, I think.

[Erik chuckles, nudging the other's arm, gently. Come come, Charles. It's amusing.]

[He's pleased you find it so. Charles worried now... he's noticed that lately that he has a way of saying the complete wrong thing, usually resulting in them fighting. He doesn't want that anymore, it makes him wary of his own words, which probably isn't a bad thing, but it might have him a little paranoid now.]

I would rather not, it's frowned upon to drink while on medication, especially the sort I was on. [Heavy pain meds, not the sort to be drinking with.]

But since I'm not on any any more, I will enjoy all the alcohol you will allow me.

And I'm glad for that.

[He reaches out and squeezes the other's wrist. It's contact, but he truly wants the other to know how happy he is that he's feeling better. That he isn't in as much pain.]

[He'll find himself smiling, small yet he is. While his back does ache from sitting up in his chair all day, he is getting used to it. Comfortable as his chair is, it doesn't mean there won't be sore muscles and aches, sadly.

But pain from his actual injury, no, he's not feeling so much of that anymore. Thankfully.]

As am I.

[And he'll reach to pat his hand on Erik's, lingering, squeezing just a tad before he let's go and enjoys some of that alcohol tinted punch of his.]

[A small hidden smile hits Erik's face. He'll spend the rest of the party at Charles's side, just watching the people pass by.]
