Setting: Room 2-14 and Floor 14
Format: Action is vastly preferred, but I'll prose if you want. Just be warned - prose tags take me a lot longer.
Summary: Yosuke arrives! Derping ensues.
Warnings: Swearing!

Room 2-14

[Yosuke's never been quick to wake up - unless it's someone waking him up in the middle of class. Laying in bed an extra few minutes is normal. What's not normal is the bed, the room, or anything about this place. And then panic ensues! What we end up with is one Yosuke trying his best to keep calm as he takes in these strange surroundings in a slight panic]

What the hell?! Who's idea of a joke is this!

Floor 14

[Yosuke - now dressed in his usual threads, headphones around his neck, has found his way to the entertainment room. He doesn't feel particularly jolly though, and rather than enjoy the entertainment he's sprawled on a couch, looking up and contemplating the last few hours of his life]

Senpai?

[He turns his head - and for likely the first time that day Yosuke manages a smile, if only a small one]

Naoto? Please tell me that's really you. I can't take many more bad surprises today.

Of course it's me, don't be foolish.

[and for the first time in quite awhile Naoto manages one of her own. She was alone at Sphere and for the past couple of days she'd been alone here, too. It was a relief to see Yosuke here -- he wasn't... he wasn't gone.]

It's good to see you, Senpai.

[There's a big part of him that wants to give her a hug for purely selfish reasons - because there's actually something from his world left to hold onto, because he isn't alone. Emotional exhaustion wins though, and he merely shifts on the couch to give her a place to sit]

Is... is it just us? Only you and me?

[She nods in thanks and takes a seat next to him, a strange sort of heaviness in her voice]

Yes, that's correct. I arrived here a little over a week ago and you are the first person I have seen from home.

[On the one hand, he's supremely thankful he isn't alone. On the other hand, him and Naoto. Alone, the only people left from their home]

[He closes his eyes and tilts his head backwards, trying to control his emotions]

... well shit.

[She glances at him out of the corner of her eye, watching him carefully. Well, looks like that's one thing she won't have to explain.]

I take it you have already been informed about our current situation.

[After a few moments he composes himself - faking a smile's always been second nature to him, after all]

I read the letter, yeah. And I really didn't want to believe a damn word of it.

[Silly Yosuke, don't you know that Naoto can tell when you're faking?]

To be quite honest, I don't believe it myself.

[But she's never called him on it. ... then again he's never had to do it quite like this]

If you've got good news, I'd love to hear it. I don't know what to believe right now.

[Hope you left room on that couch, because Tatsuki's gonna just plop herself down on the other end of it whether you did or not. She's also got her own set of earbuds (http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/6834/4030336sb.jpg) hooked to the neckline of her t-shirt, if he wants something to change the subject to. Perhaps they could compare notes.]

So, how's your first day in hell treating you, stranger?

[The way she says it is almost so casual that he can't help but laugh. There's more or less enough room for the two of them, though with his careless sprawling they might be closer than normal for two strangers]

Is it that obvious? I guess everyone must have that look on their first day.

[Vietnam was about to rest by watching mindless television, when she spots the young man. He appears to be deep in thought. At first, Vietnam thought against approaching him, but if he needed something, it would be rude not to offer.]

Hello?

[And just like that he's snapped out of his thoughts, becoming flustered as he shifts on the couch]

Sorry, was I in your spot? I can move! I don't want to step on anyone's toes on my first day.

[She quickly raises her hands!] No no, it's fine, I was just wondering if you needed anything. All these couches are for everyone's use anyway, so please, relax and take your time.

[He smiles sadly]

The only thing I want is to go home. A not-obliterated one. Thanks for asking though.

[And since she took the time to check on a stranger, it's only right he introduce himself]

I'm Yosuke Hanamura. You?

That is understandable, we all do too. But as long as we're alive, we can work something out, no? [Especially when some have mentioned that it might be possible to save their worlds. But who knows? Still, she keeps a strong face for this newcomer.]

It is nice to meet you, Yosuke Hanamura. [She gives a small smile before bowing her head] I am Vietnam.

I know I did yesterday. Figured it was a safe bet.

[She smiles back. He'd have no way of knowing it, but it was the first time she'd smiled since she'd been here.]

You holding up alright?

As good as I can.

[He taps the headphones around his neck while looking at hers]

It's not much, but the little things help keep you sane. Right?

[He manages a smile at her kind words, but even as distraught as he is, her name catches his ear. And even if it's rude, he can't help but ask]

Vietnam? Like the country?

[She taps her own in response.] So far, yeah.

So, you got a name, or do I just call you "dude" for however long we're stuck here?

[Aradia's explorations have finally brought her to the 14th floor and wow, she has never seen this much equipment anywhere that isn't the meteor lab.

It takes her a moment to notice the human sprawled on the couch. When she does she wanders over, dragging over one of the beanbags to sit on]

Are you okay?

That wouldn't be the worst thing I've been called.

[He smiles again]

But let's go with my name. Yosuke Hanamura. Nice to meet you.

[The concern for him from strangers is actually pretty touching, and it's that thought that lets him manage another weak smile]

I just got here today. Everything's sort of a shock right now, and hell if I know how to handle it.

[Fortunately for him, she's used to it now, so she nods.]
