Setting: Room 2-14 and Floor 14
Format: Action is vastly preferred, but I'll prose if you want. Just be warned - prose tags take me a lot longer.
Summary: Yosuke arrives! Derping ensues.
Warnings: Swearing!

Room 2-14

[Yosuke's never been quick to wake up - unless it's someone waking him up in the middle of class. Laying in bed an extra few minutes is normal. What's not normal is the bed, the room, or anything about this place. And then panic ensues! What we end up with is one Yosuke trying his best to keep calm as he takes in these strange surroundings in a slight panic]

What the hell?! Who's idea of a joke is this!

Floor 14

[Yosuke - now dressed in his usual threads, headphones around his neck, has found his way to the entertainment room. He doesn't feel particularly jolly though, and rather than enjoy the entertainment he's sprawled on a couch, looking up and contemplating the last few hours of his life]

[He turns his head - and for likely the first time that day Yosuke manages a smile, if only a small one]

Naoto? Please tell me that's really you. I can't take many more bad surprises today.

Of course it's me, don't be foolish.

[and for the first time in quite awhile Naoto manages one of her own. She was alone at Sphere and for the past couple of days she'd been alone here, too. It was a relief to see Yosuke here -- he wasn't... he wasn't gone.]

It's good to see you, Senpai.

[There's a big part of him that wants to give her a hug for purely selfish reasons - because there's actually something from his world left to hold onto, because he isn't alone. Emotional exhaustion wins though, and he merely shifts on the couch to give her a place to sit]

Is... is it just us? Only you and me?

[She nods in thanks and takes a seat next to him, a strange sort of heaviness in her voice]

Yes, that's correct. I arrived here a little over a week ago and you are the first person I have seen from home.

[On the one hand, he's supremely thankful he isn't alone. On the other hand, him and Naoto. Alone, the only people left from their home]

[He closes his eyes and tilts his head backwards, trying to control his emotions]

... well shit.

[She glances at him out of the corner of her eye, watching him carefully. Well, looks like that's one thing she won't have to explain.]

I take it you have already been informed about our current situation.

[After a few moments he composes himself - faking a smile's always been second nature to him, after all]

I read the letter, yeah. And I really didn't want to believe a damn word of it.

[Silly Yosuke, don't you know that Naoto can tell when you're faking?]

To be quite honest, I don't believe it myself.

[But she's never called him on it. ... then again he's never had to do it quite like this]

If you've got good news, I'd love to hear it. I don't know what to believe right now.

When I first arrived I questioned every willing resident about the the people "in charge", our self-proclaimed saviors as it were, as well as general information about the tower itself. I am afraid to say that no one knows very much and opinions about the supposed destruction of our worlds varies, there is no solid consensus on the matter.

However, from what I have gathered thus far, I have reason to believe we are being lied to. For one, there is the issue of time. I recently spoke with a boy named Edward Elric. He has been here for quite some time now, but his younger brother showed up approximately a month ago. There is nothing inherently strange about this, of course. The issue here is that his younger brother was older than him by one full year.

Logically, it would be impossible for this to occur if their world truly was destroyed. Based upon what I have heard from some of the other residents, that is not the first time something of that nature has occurred.

There is clear room for reasonable doubt and I believe that, if nothing else, can be considered good news.

[Good news? Naoto, this is the best news, and if anything it seems to have injected a much needed spark of life back into Yosuke. He sits up a little straighter, his face a little brighter]

Alright, so that means we can work under the assumption that we've been kidnapped by assholes. And that's something we can work with!

... a guy should not be this happy about being kidnapped.

[Ah, that's a bit better. Something akin to a smile pulls at her lips. It's been quite some time since she saw him last.]

Under normal circumstances I would have to agree with you, but all things considered I can certainly understand why you would find it something to be happy about. I find it far more uplifting than the rather destitute alternative.

[Oh Naoto, with your big words and your fancy sayings. Never change, Naoto]

Alright, so now we just have to find out who, why, where, and the best way to stomp their heads in. That, we can do!

We can indeed. It's simply another mystery to be solved.

Then let's consider this the reformation of the investigation team! I think we've got one more mystery left in us.

I would certainly hope so. I would not be able to call myself a detective if that were not the case.

Well you don't count, you have like, ten million mysteries left in you. We can't all be brilliant detectives, Naoto.

My apologies. I failed to realize that I was not included in the equation.

[she pauses as she considers something.]

Have you had anything to eat yet, senpai?

[y hello thar sudden subject change!]

Not yet, I was going to find some food in a little while. Why?

Be sure you eat the oatmeal first. No one is sure why, but until you have that you will be unable to keep any other food down. It is not what anyone would consider good by any means, but I'm fairly certain you've had worse.

[Mystery food X anyone?]

The oatmeal, huh? Not exactly what I was hoping for, but thanks for the heads up. Today's been crazy enough without spending a few extra hours in the bathroom hugging a toilet.

[Yosuke, you are the most mature. Even so, she is just so relieved to see him here, to see someone from home in one piece, that the remark brings something of a smile to her lips.]

[He's quiet for a moment, just enjoying her company and not even thinking of how absurd that is - he's never just sat and enjoyed Naoto's company before. Never alone anyways. After a while, something occurs to him]
