Format: I'll follow, but action is far faster for me
Summary: Yosuke's in a half-thinking, half-escapist mood. What better place to do both?
Warnings: None!

[In the middle of this springtime meadow is one high school student, sprawled out on the grass with his headphones on and blasting music. He switches every few minutes between nodding his head to the beat and looking oddly contemplative. But he's aware of his surroundings, and as people pass he'll do one of two things]

[If Yosuke doesn't know you, he'll simply smile and offer a friendly wave]

[If he does, he'll slip the headphones off his hears and give a greeting] Hey!

Then I'm in. And I can think of some pretty good candidates for the assholes too.

Then we won't even need to give them a script! Just put them in front of a camera for twenty minutes and tell them to be themselves.

Why do that when we can observe from a distance and catch them in their natural assishness?

But wouldn't that be a documentary? I don't know many of those that have beautiful heroines leaping across chasms and exploring hidden tombs.

Hmm. That's true. I'm just not sure how well we'd be able to persuade them to cooperate.

[princeofjunes]

Can they be bought with food? This'd be worth learning to cook for.

It's doubtful. What we'd really need is someone of higher blood standing who'd be on our side, but I'm not sure anyone here really qualifies.

[princeofjunes]

... well it's not like we're trying to make a good movie. What if we just cut in the secret footage of them being assholes?

That works. Less chance of us getting caught on the wrong end of their weapon of choice, too.

[princeofjunes]

Damn, you weren't kidding. They do sound like assholes!

[verymuchalive]

Well. One of them tried to kill me for something a past me did. I think we can safely say they qualify on the asshole front.

[princeofjunes]

Who would want to kill you? Hell, you might be one of the nicest people I've ever met, regardless of race.

[verymuchalive]

[She smiles a little at that]

I'm glad you think so. But to some of the trolls here, all that matters is that I'm a redblood and that alone is enough for them to feel justified in killing me.

[princeofjunes]

A redblood? I don't understand.

[verymuchalive]

Oh that's right, you don't know about that. Trolls all have different coloured blood and what blood you have determines your rank in society. Red - my red - is the lowest you can get without being outside the hemospectrum.

[princeofjunes]

Just because you're blood is red-

[Excuse Yosuke for a moment. He's no stranger to racism or elitism, but this is new even for him. Eventually his face goes from bewildered to pissed]

- that's bullshit! You're not a lesser person because of your blood color! Those bastards...

That's troll society for you. Of course, there are some now who realise how silly it all is but there are still many who cling to what the hemospectrum dictates. And to a sea dweller, someone who is basically royalty, someone like me is an easy target.

[princeofjunes]

We'll see just how much of an 'easy target' you are. If that bastard tries anything, we'll just knock 'em down a few pegs.

Yosuke, it's okay. Killing me without a good reason isn't going to achieve much for them, and I should have known better than to spend any length of time within reach of a sea dweller.

[He groans and runs a hand through his hair]

Right, sorry. I'm sure you're used to it and all, it just... really pisses me off.

I can understand that. I'm sure there are things humans do that I wouldn't understand. Doesn't make it right but you just get used to it.

[princeofjunes]

[Remembering another conversation about a similar subject, he sighs]

Yeah, you're right. Sorry, I sort of lost my head for a minute there.

It's okay, really. You're still calmer and more rational than some of the trolls I know. And I appreciate the thought behind it.

[princeofjunes]

Calm and rational, huh? I guess I really have grown some.

Well, I wouldn't take it as the biggest compliment given the trolls I was referring to but you've always seemed that way to me.
