June 9th, floor 62, evening

[keybearer]

[Riku feels a bit uneasy about the dorms, as to be expected. Granted, he spends his evenings wandering the tower anyway, so rather than mosey back up to his room, he opts to park it on the beach floor for the time being. It feels as close to home as it gets within the tower.

So maybe... he should just drift off by the shore. Given the recent glamour failure, he's hardly gotten any sleep in the first place.

His eyes drift closed, though he tries to force them open. His Dream Eater occasionally nudges him back into a conscious state, but it'd take a real shock to his system to snap him out of his drowsiness.]

You shouldn't sleep out alone. [Shion didn't know who this was but when he spotted them on the beach he hurried along to them. He was still looking for his friends, mostly Xion but that didn't mean he wouldn't stop to help others.]

[keybearer]

Huh?

[He groggily opens his eyes, turning to look at Shion.]

I guess not, but where else can I stay? Something about the dorms just feels... off.

[savedbyasong]

Yes they do... but you should be at least with people.

[keybearer]

Right...

[Okay, just give him a second, and he'll stand back up, stretching his back.]

Where's everybody else sleeping? Guess it wouldn't hurt to move.

[savedbyasong]

All over, but we're staying in the forest. [He smiled at him] Me and Xion I mean.

[keybearer]

Forest, huh? Well, some company sure beats staking it out on my own.

[His little dragon buddy gives a disgruntled squeak at that remark.]

...Okay, so maybe I wasn't completely alone, but still.

[savedbyasong]

[Shion nodded but then got completely distracted by the dragon, kneeling down to smile at it] Hello little thing.

[keybearer]

[The dragon trills, wriggling its haunches before butting its head on Shion's knees. You seem nice!

Riku chuckles lightly at his Dream Eater's behavior.]

I swear, he's gotta be the friendliest dragon I've ever seen. Definitely no Maleficent, at any rate.

[So do you little dragon, Shion scratched it behind the ears] He seems very friendly? Is he truly a dragon? I thought they were larger.

[keybearer]

Well, he breathes fire, flies, and looks like a dragon.

[He's just... about the size of an adult human when he stands up on his hind quarters. Big enough to ride on, perhaps, but no behemoth in terms of size.

Also, he sparkles, and the little guy leans into Shion's touch.]

He's got nothing on Maleficent, though. When she became a dragon, she could've filled a whole room.

[He's the only dragon Shion has ever seen, and he smiles at the sparkling.] Who is Maleficent?

[keybearer]

She was this twisted, old hag who wanted to rule over the worlds with darkness and wound up manipulating my best friend in the process.

[It's a long, painful story, that. The way she tried to paint herself as a hero to Sora still rubs Riku the wrong way.]

Oh. [Sounds it.] I hope that he was able to get away from her.

[keybearer]

He was, but...

[He looks out towards the water, shaking his head after a few seconds.]

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Not like it matters here.

[savedbyasong]

Oh... okay... [He wasn't going to pry, he went back to fussing over the dragon he had in front of him]

[keybearer]

Sorry.

[He realizes that he probably came out a bit too snappy. The dragon doesn't seem to mind either way because, yay! Attention. It's all good in his book.]

It's just painful to think back on that. Especially after everything that's happened here.
