[Science Experiment] || [Collar Fluid Research Start] || [Open]
Characters: Anyone who's willing to work for SCIENCE.
Setting: The Workshop (Floor 15) for the IC questions to the scientists and the mingle thread. Then each group will be positioned on a different floor so as to not alert the administrators with a large group of people gathering at a single place for a long time.
Format: Prose or action, whichever you prefer.
Summary: This log marks the start of the research on the collar fluid! As was mentioned in the sign-ups post, words was passed around about the need of more people to help and study the collar fluid. Characters signing-up have all been divided into seven teams, which can be found here. ICly, Doc Brown made the team based on what he thinks is the most efficient. You can still sign-up here.
There will be a thread in case your character needs to ask a question or anything to the starter scientists (Doc, Waver, Sertoria or Sephiroth) and in parallel a mingle thread for all the characters during the 'recruitment', even if they end up assigned to different teams. And then obviously, there are the individual threads for each teams so the new teammates can get and know each other if they don't already.
For their first day the teams will be on different floors, but following this nothing prevents two teams from working closeby or on different floors. For reference, there are three set of scientific equipment, each containing a microscope, a small centrifuge, beakers, test tubes, many testing apparatuses, etc. They'll be shared between the seven teams depending on what they need for their researches.
Warnings: Nothing! There will be no NPC tags here, researches shouldn't be dangerous and this log is mostly for the characters to get and know each other, so this should be a relatively harmless log. Well, unless you're in the Violet or Orange team of course. In which case, good luck.

Sephiroth isn't pleased at all having to call on skills that he detests even remembering that he has but desperate times do indeed call for desperate measures. Besides, how else to know completely the results than to head this team.]
I expect everyone heard well what their role is already in this little science project. I don't- [Pause. A little honesty now would prevent problems later...]
-I don't claim to be the mastermind that some of the others may boast. But I know enough about what we need to achieve here and I would expect that to be remembered. It doesn't need to be said how vital this research is, after all.
Agreed?
no subject
... Not that he trusted Sephiroth entirely, as evidenced by having managed to get into this group to watch over the results.
He nodded silently as Sephiroth finished speaking, letting the others speak if so they chose. Science was not his domain, magic was. His scientific knowledge was barely existent and his only task here would be to repel monsters and move the equipment. Quite easy for him. ]

He and his Master have discussed the strategic value of his joining a group such as this one, and so Lancelot has come to learn what he may, and will do what he may. If what he may involves Slaughter, then so much to the better.
Sephiroth the Warrior, he knows. With Sephiroth the Scientist, he is unfamiliar-- though he can see readily enough that the man dislikes his role. It can't be helped, of course. In his own Life, his Life as a Servant, he knows himself to be a Fighting Tool, wielded at the will of others. At least here, in this place, he has his Sanity. For the Most part.
As Sephiroth's remarks draw to a close, he nods in agreement. He well remembers their last Speech together. While he holds no illusions that the man acts in anything but his own Interests, he Trusts Sephiroth well enough in this.
Agreed.

[It's strange being grouped in with a bunch of strangers. Irritating that he'd wind up with Ganon. Though the surroundings leave Riku tense, he manages to keep calm and (largely) still for now. Though he casts an occasional glance across the room, any signs of discomfort remain buried inside of him.
What matters right now is uncovering the secrets of the collar fluid. If that means siding with strangers and those he detests... fine. He'll deal.]
Just let me know when you need stuff hauled around, and I'll see what I can do. Otherwise, I guess I'll just keep an eye out for monsters.
[He's got his Keyblade in hand just in case. One can never be too careful.]
no subject
[Sephiroth turns to Riku at that point and nods, though he pushes back his reservations about keyblades into a dark recess of his mind. Now is not the time to be letting the actions of one taint the possible virtues of others. It's an ample opportunity to raise this particular concern with all of them gathered like this.]
There are only three sets of equipment so you'll all be responsible for keeping all items in circulation throughout the Tower. It's vital that not one piece be discovered, which is why they must not be kept in the same place for very long. Most importantly, though really should go without saying: not in your trunks.
Also you'll have to coordinate with the other groups to ensure that we get the equipment required, for when it's needed. [A grin cracks along Sephiroth's mouth.] For this group at least, clearly a few monsters won't be a problem.
[After all, both of the scientists heading this group can fight as well.]
Hopping in belatedly...
We do seem to have a fine assembly of combat-capable volunteers, don't we?
[She was already prepared for note-taking as well, having lifted a bit of paper and some writing implements from the workshop. This was... different, having such a subservient role in such a task, but it was still involvement. She would still gain knowledge. And maybe even prestige.]

[Sephiroth pauses, looking around all the others again. They all seem so eager and ready to crack on, but with so little questions asked Sephiroth is concerned how they might not all be on the same wavelength when it came down to how this operation would run. Admittedly he's not the best at speaking openly to a group of people either. He dropped leading people a long time ago preferring to act on his own and it was a jagged stick to be picking back up.]
We must also bear in mind the issue of supervisors... [Thankfully, his own red-collared unit isn't anywhere to be seen right now. Losing that dim-witted shadow of his wasn't difficult, but having to do it near constantly to get experimenting time in was going to be a nuisance.]
no subject
[His words fly off the tongue casually, as if reading down a list. Deep down, however, he knows this is easier said than done. With trunks out of the question, they'll have to be crafty with where they hide the gear. And given the number of dangerous floors in the tower, the need for caution goes without saying.
For the time being, he'll let the Keyblade flicker out of his grip and out of sight. If he needs it later, all he needs to do is flick his wrist. With his weapon out of the way, he folds his arms loosely over his chest.]
When are we gonna get started, anyway?
[The sooner they get cracking on the experimentation, the sooner they can (hopefully) uncover something useful, but with only three sets of equipment, who knows how often they'll get the chance?]
/stumbles in late
He has his sword with him, sheathed, and is also, for some reason, wearing a tattered red headband. He listens to his other self and the others speak, politely. He isn't the most talkative child, but when Riku speaks, he answers.]
I see no reason to delay.

[With a twitch at the corner of his mouth Sephiroth answers Riku. It's well known that their task is anything but basic though - sometimes a little euphemism can go a long way. It's just a little science, to overcome the smallest problem of their existences in the Tower...
His gaze finally rests on the smaller version of himself. Provided their expertise is of a similar level (which Sephiroth is 99.9% certain of) their partnership in this project should be nothing less than perfect. Despite their obvious differences, there is a lot more in common between the two of them than meets the eye and Sephiroth relishes in the fact that he's the only one that knows this. Something to be kept very close to his chest, until the time is right.]
Indeed. [He replies, with an almost-salute of a nod at the little boy. The equipment is all very much there in front of them, being a receiver of one of the initial sets of equipment is advantageous in making sure that they have all that could be needed to start work. There is also less than a quarter of a beakers' worth of the violet fluid sitting there waiting. Between him and Ganondorf being also custodians of that same tank, they have to be careful not to run out of subject matter.]
We need to work out some sort of schedule. Night time might be a more dangerous time to be operating but I'm of the belief that monsters provide distraction. [Team work sucks, though he's just going to have to give more than what he is comfortable usually doing. Anything to get the results.]
Though it must not be every night, nor always at night, nor conform to any sort of fathomable routine. For whatever we may think that they are, [Hmph. Or what they are not.] our beloved captors have undeniably sharp minds. Any thoughts to this end?

Indeed, the administrators have eyes everywhere. The scale and duration of this operation are such, even if we are very careful it is very likely they will see at least one of the six other teams working. However I do not think complete and utter secrecy should be our worry here.
[ He paused before continuing. ]
They lack in means. Even if they realize something strange is happening and trust me, they will, as long as we remain discreet enough we should be fine, as long as we move the equipment and those in charges whenever retrieval units are sent after us, as well as hide the equipment when the 'hidden hours' grows close. If I am not available, my Shadow will be so my placement on the schedule has little importance.
[ He concluded, before adding on a distant tone. ]
Under these circumstances, it would take nothing less than a complete shutdown of the glamour system for the administrators to catch us...
